  5. bgrand, i would ask to be filled under fluroscopy (sp?) That is the safest way to make sure their is no leeks and that they do not accidently puncture the your tubing.

  7. i was told it wasn't about the size of the band, but the size of the stoma.
  8. okay don't panic. can you have yogurt? jello? I am also in full liquids, i have to be on liquids for 3 weeks. first 7 clear. I have chosen not to weigh myself at all until the 4 week checkup. You might just want to stop doing that to LOL..I have had several people commment that i look to be losing weight(i take that as a good sign) I try to eat sensibly without killing a bunch of soup. or doing the low carb, health request ones. so for me i try to do something along the lines of this during the week: b-sugar free breakfast carnation mxed with skim milk l-yogurt snack: sugar free jello cup dinner: soup I try not to eat dinner after 7 pm and do not snack after that time. I don't usually feel really hungry, sometimes my tummy is a lil grumbly before dinner but if i find something to occupy my mind low and behold i easily hold out. Hope this helps ya, just remember to breath. Really i believe my doc when he says this time is for healing, we can do this girl!!
  9. well for me, im still a newbie but the thing i do most is watch my calories. go to www.thedailyplate.com start logging what you are eating you'll be surprised how many calories your eating and not even know it. calories in your drinks, foods, etc can get out of hand fast. My typical meal right now is: b-carnation instant breakfast, 1 cup skim milk mixed l-yogurt snack-sugar free jello cup dinner- some kind of soup I do not eat after 7 pm and try not to snack after dinner. I though am still in the liquid stage so i dont' know how helpful i am being. But you might want to restart the phases, do 7 days liquids, 7 days mushies, then add back solids and see if that doesn't jump start your body for ya. Also their is a great low carb dieters unite thread here in the food and nutrition forum. Good luck, you can do this!!

  20. 60 g of protein is what my doc reccomends. different docs offer differ opinions on the amount, but after reading tons of posts id say most agree to the 60 g. As for vitamins good question i take Vi actice, or something its a lil choc chew thingy made by women for women. Id also like to know if i need to supplement.
  21. I had to battle my PCM a lil, he was kinda gun shy, but once he gave me the referrel, it took 2 hours for tricare overseas to approve the consultation with the surgeon and 1 week to approve the actual surgery. I did my psych eval it was like 15 min, he just wanted to check make sure i knew that if i lost weight it wouldn't make life magically great. LOL. I had labs done, and that is where i got my co-morbs from they really really sucked. plus i hit the 40 bmi. I did all my ekg, upper gi, the night before the surgery at the hospital where i was having the band done. easy peasy honestly, once i committed it probably took 2 mths from start to finish. Thank you Tri care!!
  22. hmm nope on the crab cakes but i got crab stuff mushroom recipie, each serving is 2 mushrooms 130 cal, 9gr. protein, 3 carbs, 10 g fat.
  23. i dont' know if this helps but i can't stand the protein powders, but i have found that if i blend with a tbls of peanut buttter in with it, the pb completely covers the protein taste. Just make sure your on full liquids approved by your doc. keep strong!!
