JillyT got a reaction from FluffyChix in So mad at myself for regain
I am in the same place & totally beside myself. I lost 60lbs from sleeve and felt amazing. but have gained back 25 in the 2.5 years. It’s been a steady rise and I keep watching it, and then getting crazed, but then letting it slide. My wine consumption is a big problem. Starting to feel embarrassed about it and shame. I have been on this path so many times just feeling so low. Trying to regroup and get myself back in the right mindset. Hope you can do it too.

I'm also stalled again too so I feel your pain. So frustrating! I keep getting afraid I will stop losing. Only have about 30lbs to go. Definitely causes u to play mind games.

check out Dr. Duc Voung - Bariatric surgeon. Look him up on FB. He says not to work out after surgery. Explains a bit about the physiology etc. It goes against what we're told - but check out some of his videos/ advice. I had been stalled and pressuring myself at the gym to get out of a recent stall. When I listened to him-- reduce/ remove dairy, don't go to gym - my stall ended & 3.5 lbs vanished. Of course now I'm stalled again. But I think he has excellent advice. Good luck. Also, that sounds like way too few calories to me. I'm trying to stay focused on foods & nutrients and not calories.

Wow!!! I did misunderstand oh my goodness. I've never really had anything like that experience. How old are you? Are these older men?
Maybe talking about sex sooner would help? I'm sure there must be red flags like if they have been single a long time or perhaps they are very overweight themselves? Would that affect their sex drives?
This would be a huge deal breaker for me. I want to know if I am sexually compatible with someone sooner than later for this exact reason. The worst is to have an unsatisfying sexual relationship and have feelings caught up!!
I'm not sure what advice I can offer except to be more upfront about wether they enjoy sex. ☺️☺️
Of course I'm so upfront I be like "man I need a little sugar in my bowl and some hot dog in my roll!!" Hahahaha. Now!!
Omg I sound like a slut. I'm really not people promise.

To clarify the things I find the most awkward/frustrating about dating post op are:

    *gaining attention
    *receiving compliments
*general dating etiquette( figuring out how to be open but not reveal much too soon, etc)
*working through emotional/psychological issues while dating (i.e. "Does this guy really want ME?")

Aww, the waiting is the absolute worst. So many days & hours to fill with fearful thoughts. I'm sorry your going through that. I did too. I felt better after watching tons of YouTube videos of people's experiences. Seeing them as they go through all the phases in the hospital then going home etc. helped me mentally prepare. Just keep talking about it & trying to remember to breath. You will get through this & be so relieved and then happy with your decision. Best of luck to you.

I get very tired easily and weak when I don't have enough protein! I had surgery march 13, this morning I was convinced I was going to er because I was lightheaded , no shaky and I realized I hadn't eaten or drank any Water, super scary! But it's important to get fluids and Protein in to sustain energy and prevent body from starvation mode & muscle loss.

Up your Protein and liquid intake. Make sure to take your Vitamins. Tons of rest. All I can think of. Best of luck. Sorry you've had such a traumatic experience.

Do you guys purée eggs too or have you been eating them normally? I think my NUT mentioned eating them poached or scrambled during the purée stage of the diet

JillyT got a reaction from Hollyhock in Surgery is booked and I have mixed feelings
Same with me. I'm scheduled for 2/7 and it's been an emotional rollercoaster. And I'm single so that is making me anxious too. I a few have friends around to help me. But wish I was closer to family that I could depend on. The pre op diet for me is all liquid for 2 weeks. I don't know how I'm going to manage with that. All overwhelming. Good to hear from others feeling the same.
