Do I need a Fill?
I puree it. I just wasn't sure. Thank you all for your comments. I go to the Dr today and I am not sure what the appointment is about, when they told me I was still in the hospital so I was kind of out of it, I just remember the date because I wrote it down. I have lost about 20lbs, I will find out for sure at 10:15 today, I dont trust my scale.

Weekly Food Discussion 3/10
Dang. I totally messed up late last night and ate like 4 ounces of smoked gouda cheese. After being so healthy all day and cooking this low low fat meal for me and my roommates, I totally threw the day away...and I wasn't hungry! That's the bad part, I just was so happy and I wanted to celebrate and that is how I celebrate, I have got to teach myself new habits. I am working so hard at it. I am mad at myself.

Anybody else peeved at Lane Bryant?
I wear a lot of their clothes out of lack of being able to find clothes anywhere else, and I LOVE their pants, but most of their clothes are not designed well, and if a button came off every once in a while, well ok, but everything I have ever bought there the button comes off, and I do not try to lie to myself and buy sizes too small for me. And I dont usually buy things that have to be drycleaned, but its their t-shirts that seem to shrink the most. The cotton/spandex mix they use doesn't seem to work to me. Im glad their is a store, but I think they take advantage.

Do I need a Fill?
So I can't have anything but liquid for breakfast, I eat usually 4-5oz of meat and 1/4c of smashed califlower or something like that for lunch, and for supper I can eat a regular small meal. Like last night I had half of a small butternut squash (not quite half) and about 1 cup of smashed cauliflower....Is this more than most of you eat in a day or about right? I feel like it should tighter, but I don't want to mess with it if It's right? How much to you guys consume at a time.:confused2:

Roommate saw I was on Lapbandtalk.com...Came to my room to tell me it's wrong!
Dont cry over ignorant people. She sounds like a jackass and your body, your weight, YOUR LIFE is none of her business. Keep your head up and your head clear, dear.

When you have a craving what do you do???
I try to find substitutes for cravings. Like I love Icecream but I eat frozen yogurt or reduced fat icecream when I want to indulge....but really the only thing I crave that I can't seem to find a sub for is freaking bread. And I think that is going to be a lifelong struggle. Bread has been my weakness since I was a little girl. I would rather eat nothing but a loaf a bread a day for a year then have any sweet anytime I want.

Why am I so hungry!
I found that when I am hungry about an hour or two after eating, if I drink 4-6oz of Water the feeling goes away. Plus as your stomach heals the swelling goes down and your not as restricted as your were when you first had your surgery. That is what I read in the book my surgeon gave me. So congrats on the healing! :huh2:

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly!
I haven't weighed myself in a week. I am trying to concentrate on my food and my stomach and my "fullness" I know if I step on the scale in the morning and it says a lb more or no change at all it might depress me, and I am an emotional eater. I think once a week is safe to give you a good idea of what direction I am going, but everyday would be dangerous for me. I will weigh myself tomorrow though to see how much I have lost because I haven't been on a scale in a week and a few days now. I hope it has changed.

Weekly Food Discussion 3/10
B- None, just cant do it L- 1/2c salmon shredded cups by chicken of the sea and a slimmer bear 100 calorie klondike bar S- Mashed califlower with LF creamcheese and LF sourcream and smart balance butter about 1/2 cup and 2/3 cup of butter nut squash baked. then another icecream skinny bear klondike bar I can always eat sooo much more at night. I found the recipe for the mashed califlower on here. It was really good and has more vitamens then mashed potatoes which I can never ever look at again.

I crave ice cream, which my nutritionist said NO...but I am cheating. So I buy the slimmer bear klondike bars. They are small the chocolate melts down to nothing and they are 100 calories. chocolate and icecream are my downfalls but these let me have my fix without feeling like a bad horrible person.

oh yeah and I only take my protein about 1/3 the times I am supposed too. Which is why I started eating egg and cheese early. I just couldn't force that protein down.

Lets see. I was banded on Feb.27. 1. no preop diet (but no last meal either I at least didn't do that) 2. started eating runny mashed potatoes 5 days later very slowly 3. have not excercised yet- what I am most dissapointed about 4. had a cheese omelette two days ago. Not all at once but I am not supposed to have eggs for another week I think 5. put REAL sourcream in my mashed potatoes two days ago. And a lot of it. These might not sound dramatic but they feel dramatic for me.

Pre-Op Depression???
also, now that I think about it. We are almost changing our identity. That is a scary and emotional thing to do too.
-
Pre-Op Depression???
I did. I think, especially for people who have been large their whole life, that we have tried so long to love ourselves despite our weight and the way society treats "fat" people. We have struggled with showing people our worth despite our weight. Now, we have to accept that their is truely something wrong. Something emotional that attaches itself to the physical. I think that is a hard thing to do. Plus you are being forced to look at yourself as obese, morbidly obese, severely obese, super obese. Whatever the case I think that can be very depressing. We are also breaking off a dear friendship. We have celebrating, cried, intoxicated ourselves with food. At least for me, food has been one of my most loyal friends, and it's like it's moving across the country. Your relationship with food will never be the same. I think depression is normal, in fact I think every emotion you have pre surgery and post surgery is its on "normal". Just express everything to your doctor.
