#BirdDog got a reaction from LittleBill in This sure feels weird
I shrank out of my wedding ring, felt weird not wearing it. I ordered a package of the silicone ones in every size. So I've been going through those. Kind of nice because if I get then caught on anything it will break before I lose a finger.

I was very happy with my Fitbit, only reason I changed is because I wanted the additional features of the Apple Watch. But as a fitness tracker the Fitbit blew the Apple Watch out of the Water.< /p>

#BirdDog got a reaction from Detroit_25 in I did it! Got sleeved yesterday 9/2!
Well I did it. Yesterday they did the gastric sleeve operation at 7:30am.
When I arrived for checking they did some paperwork that allowed the hospital to bill my insurance, then they took me back to pre-op. In pre-op they had me strip down and put on a gown. I didn't have any valuables with me but that is when they would have taken them and put them in the safe. A gentleman came in and started the IV. Another nurse came in and was asking me about what I had to eat and drink prior to the surgery date. Then I met the nurses that would be assisting the surgeon. They gave me a shot of blood thinner to protect from blood clots. I met the anesthesia person, he asked about if I'd ever been under or if any family members had issues with anesthesia. The surgeon came in and asked if I had any questions before we got started.
They then wheeled me off to the operating room. In the OR there were several people work on getting everything ready, they hooked up to my IV, set up the heart monitor. Then anesthesia gave me something to relax. He then came over with a mask that covered my mom and nose and said he was going to give me some oxygen. Next thing I remember is waking up in recovery.
For me this was the worst part, not feeling good coming out of the anesthesia and being in pain. There was one nurse to every two people. Unfortunately the other person that my nurse was watching was being combative so he the attention of a lot of staff members. Once things started to clear up for me a bit they adjusted my pain medication to something a bit stronger. After about an hour of being awake in recovery they wheeled me off to my room.
On the way up to my room we stopped and got my family from the waiting room and they followed me up. I was pretty out of it from all the drugs they had been giving me. So I don't remember much about the day of surgery once I made it up to my room. It was mostly keeping me comfortable. They got me to the room around noon, and had me take a short walk at about 6pm. I was able to urinate for them so no need for a catheter. Yay!!! They gave me some more pain medicine and let me rest. Throughout the night someone came in about every two hours to check on me and my vitals and checking my blood sugar.
The next morning they came in and gave me another shot of blood thinner, I had been sipping Water this entire time. I got up and went for a couple walks around the floor. Had to prove I could still urinate. Then the surgeon came in and talked about the surgery and answered more questions. He gave the okay for me to be released.
I've made it home. Still in a bit of pain from one of the incisions but not the others. So far no real issues with nausea or vomiting. I feel this was the right decision for me and am excited to start this new chapter in my life. So far I'm doing good, as far as the pain, it sucks but I know each day it will get better and better. Just focusing on getting in my Water and walking as much as I can.
I'm just now laying down for the night, sure will be nice to sleep in my own bed.

    So.....stop.
Just stop. Quit sabotaging your ability to gain results.
It's not too late to get realigned with the suggested methods your bariatric group instructed you on.
You use the term, "I can't ". I'm calling BS on this. You can, you simply choose not to.
You've had weight loss surgery.....altered your body in order to set yourself up for losing weight. It's not to late to make the mental adjustments needed to support this.
People the world over are flooding their gyms and diet centers this month in hopes of fulfilling their New Year's resolutions to lose weight. Be a joiner, lol. Follow along.....or better yet....lead the way. You've had a head start on them.....now leave them in the dust.
    Or don't.
    Your choice.
Keep doing as you've always done and be content with not getting the most from your surgery.
Or follow the rules and thrive with the benefits that will be forthcoming.

    OH HELL YES! VINDICATION
When you have someone so toxic and negative in your family, You get the OK card to revel in it. Enjoy your moment! Use her as motivation to get to goal and maintain. I would love to hear more moments that you will have with her in the future.
As you lose more weight the skin gets easier to hide in Shapewear. If you can afford plastic I'm jealous.

@@Fredbear I am not going to get into the whole thing about revenge, or who is right and who is wrong. None of us know the whole story. But I do have to write a few things in response to your posts. There are a lot of men out there who still believe in honor, integrity, and responsibility. I have no idea what the dynamics were in her marriage, but I do know that two people created not just a "contract", but a family. That family has been torn apart for whatever reason. The man involved still has responsibilities, whether he chooses to acknowledge them or not.
Regardless of what passed between him and his wife, the children are the ones who suffer the most in this. They will spend the rest of their lives wondering if it is something they did, and if they could have done better or made it right if they had just tried harder.
You might want to consider editing your post to reflect the fact that it is only your opinion. You sure as hell don't speak for me, or people like me.

I bought a small cooler at Walmart, put fishing decals all over it to personalize it. When I'm not going to be somewhere that I can have the food, I pack it full of stuff I can have. It's saved my butt many times since my surgery.

It was scary for me too. But I came to the realization that if I didn't go through with it, I wasn't likely to live another ten years, or five for that matter. I went through the same question during the preop diet. "If I can lose weight now, why have the surgery"... well because I've lost a lot of weight over and over and over again. Each time gaining it back and then a few extra pounds to boot. This was the best decision I've ever made. Not everyone has a ton of pain, I was only on pain meds for about a week. My sleep apnea is MUCH better, my blood sugar is fine, blood pressure is fine, and my cholesterol is fine now. I was taking a handful of medications each day, now I take 1. I am able to move around better and am much healthier. The benefits far out weighed the cons for me.
