That's inspiring. My surgery date is coming up in a few weeks and the closer it gets, the more worried I am that I won't be able to do what I need to. I was actually eating well for quite awhile, but when I got my surgery date, I found it impossible to eat properly. Soon, it won't be an issue, because it will be all liquids.< /p>

@@logen000 I told my TWIN sister about 2 days ago and she was absolutely horrible about it... calling me a quitter, 'you're dumber than I thought', I'm giving up etc. keep in mind she's about 20 lbs heavier than myself and has not tried other methods of losing like I have! It was really really hurtful, so I understand. I've decided that I'm not going to provide her with any updates. My life. My body. My choice.

I told them first I was thinking about it and gradually told them oh yeah my nutrition classes start and eventually told them I was definitely having the surgery. So I gave them a little info at a time to make it easier for them to absorb and it worked pretty good, now they know I am not changing my mind.

I have but I have not "acted" on it, if you know what I am saying. Within the last two years, I had ALOT of emotional, unfortunate events happen and I am an emotional eater and also BIG time binge eater. I haven't pulled the trigger on the revision just yet. I got a script from my PCP for the GERD so we will see what happens. I am at a crossroads right now. I just may try the pouch reset, etc. I dont know....

Ah, makes sense then. I have GERD too, have you tried Prilosec? The generic form is Omeprazole, I've had a prescription for a few years so all I pay are co-pays.
Re: The revision - have you looked into some type of support group or counseling to work on underlying issues? If you "went back to old habits" after the sleeve, the same might unfortunately happen after a revision. I know a few people personally who have had bypass surgery, lost a ton of weight, and put it all back on a few years later.

...and when I told my un-supportive boyfriend that I hated the way I felt and looked and this was going to affect our sex life, he changed his tune...!!

I'm not familiar with the sleeve to bypass revision. Looking at your numbers on your profile you've been extremely successful with the sleeve, what is the benefit of a revision (NOT judging, just genuinely curious).

This is why I told no one prior to my sleeve surgery. Best thing i couldve done. After the surgery, I did tell some close friends when i went on a girls trip and boy did the judgements flow!! Now that I'm considering sleeve to bypass revision, i told my mom i was "considering" it and she called me a few days later and told me i was gonna die on the table, yada, yada, etc. Told my boyfriend i was "considering" the revision surgery, he flipped and went on a "join the gym" rant. So back to dont ask, dont tell for me.

I am right there with you. I was recently scheduled for the end of this month. Ever since I got my date, my diet has deteriorated. I think it's because I'm so worried about it. Tomorrow morning my husband is going grocery shopping and getting the food I should be eating to help me out. (Usually I do it.). I think what I'm going to do is to go back to the intensive outpatient counseling program I was a part of last year for people with eating disorders. The extra support will be very helpful until I am really sure I can do it on my own.

Change is scary, but staying morbidly obese is scarier. Had I done nothing, I am very certain I would be wheelchair bound by 50 and dead by 60.
I do have loose skin. I wear Spanx and cover it up in the summer (I look great clothed! ). Without the weight, I feel amazing. I can chase my kids around, ski, go hiking, anything I want.
What I'm most scared of now is ever regaining.

How I overcame the fear of wls was realizing that I'm a risk taker, you have to be one if you're going to do this! And also that you are not alone. Hopefully you have your loved ones on board and definitely your medical team behind you as well as all of us on BariatricPal.
Take comfort in knowing you are helping yourself to live better and longer and happier too.

Oh I so understand that. I have been going through the same. Wondering if this is the good idea. Almost in a panic. Then I look at all the pills I have to take now and how unhappy I am with my weight and the limitations I am facing and I know that this is the best decision. The saggy skin, from what I hear, staying hydrated and doing some resistance and weight training will help build muscle to fill in the skin. The new lease on life is worth it!

I just started reading some posts again tonight and I just got real scared. Funny thing is I am 395lbs now started at 428 for pre op diet. That was 4 weeks ago. I want to be around 200 to 250 but am I making the right decision.

I 100% understand about being scared. I am too. I had my pre op appt today and have lost the necessary weight they wanted me to.So we are good to go for my surgery on 1/16 And when my surgeon walked out of the room, I just broke down crying. It scared me so bad. It was like I couldn't believe I didn't somehow sabotage the whole thing. But keep your head up and have faith.

I had my gastric sleeve done January 11th. I weighed 333.1lbs.
I'm 10 months post op now and weigh 144.2lbs.
I've set new goal weights as I've gone along...first was just to get under 200lbs, then I thought I wanted my goal weight to be 180lbs. When I got there, I made the crazy goal of 150lbs never thinking I'd make it....but I did. So then I figured my goal would be 145lbs which puts me at a normal bmi...which I haven't been since I was around 10.
Now that I weight 144lbs, I've decided my final goal will 133lbs, which will mean I will have lost a total of 200lbs....and I'll do it, I know I can.
I never thought when I had surgery that weighing in the 130's would even be possible.
I've gone from wearing sizes 5-6x, and 28-30, now I wear smalls and mediums and am a size 8....I would be around a 6 if it wasn't for the large amount of skin I have around my stomach and thighs....but it's a price I'm more than happy to pay.
I've been extremely disciplined this whole 10 months. I can honestly say I've never put a bad food in my mouth...not once. I follow a very low carb diet still, drink about 85oz of Water every day and get in around 80oz of Protein. I take all my required Vitamins daily.
The gym has become a big part of my life. I workout around 5-6 days per week doing a variety of exercising....spin class, step  class, yoga, cardio machines....I like doing different things so I don't get bored.
Anyway, because I'm so close to goal, I just wanted to share this. And for the people who have a lot of weight to lose like I did....remember, you can do this! I'm living proof!!
