  1. I'd forgotten about the apostrophe problem! It's (it is) a good thing for It to use Its grammar correctly! (What a horrible sentence, haha) I've always been torn since I learned about apostrophes as my last name ends in an S. Is it Jones' or Jones's?!? Both are correct! (No, not my real last name.) I also got into an argument with a bf in grad school about commas. I strongly believe it's "red, white, and blue" and he argued for "red, white and blue." So I got my grammar book out! I think the second option is technically correct but I don't like it, dangit!
  2. I can definitely see that, Plain!
  3. Posting to say that female body builders scare me. If you know one or are one, I am sorry. There's a British one on TLC right now and she sounds like a man. She's trying for Ms. Olympian and has done damage to her wrists lifting those heavy heavy weights. :-( I'm sure she's grossed about by MO folks like me! *hugs* for BBK.
  4. I'm a numbers nerd for a living so I say "one hundred ninety-two DOT six"!!! Another one I thought of this morning was "she is the older of two siblings" or "he is the oldest of 3" (or more).
  5. Happy Belated and oh HELL YEA to margaritas!!!
  6. Don't feel gyped. She was beyond ugly to me.
  7. Unbelieveable.....unsubscribing to my own thread.
  8. Clearly, some people don't understand the written word. Calling someone "fat" on here is unbelievable.
  9. Gadget - I'm going to have to look this up to clarify. $10 says I say this wrong!! I love learning!

Good for your hubby; that's awesome!!!
  11. Neck down, he is grrrrrrowl.
  12. Thank goodness LBT is back up; I've been jones-ing! One of my gf's nephew is representing Canada in water polo. I've never cared about it before but would love to see him; that's so cool! It's also very very cool that Michael Phelps was so successful - amazing!!! I feel that he and Dara really represented the country well.

Exactly - well, if it was football! :-) Ha, what she should've said was, "um vacuuming is YOUR job!!"
  14. Just imagine if he hadn't eased up.....frustrating!
  15. Gracey replied to Gracey's topic in Rants & Raves
He wanted to make sure she WOULDN'T vacuum while he was watching football. I guess some gf had in the past? Who knows! I think he asked if she read "Cosmopolitan" too. Maybe he wanted a "barefoot and pregnant" type wife! :confused2:
  16. Watching the marathon thinking how miserable they all look!
  17. That's hysterical (about your 12 yo). Countries' spelling differences are an entirely different story than what we'd been whining about before! All of the technology we have now makes me worry that the Gen Y and younger kids will grow up with no spelling/grammatical skill set! I know that my penmanship had gone to hell in a handbasket with the years at a desk job. <jumping off soapbox>
  18. Send the rain to Georgia; we need it!
  19. People that don't take their medicine drive me crazy! I don't see how she can function when she isn't on meds. I've been on Synthroid (hypo) since 1992. I went w/o meds for one week years ago. I was dragging so badly that I could barely function; it was awful. Additionally, my dingbat uncle has very high BP. He would take his meds for a while, get to feeling better, and then stop. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? His BP was so high that it's amazing he didn't have a stroke. Ig-nernt. Jaime - pls pop your friend in the back of the head for me. Think how low her metabolism is w/o meds, sigh.
  20. You losing weight bitches and your "exercise" rantings!!! Why am I even considering LB when it isn't magical? I have to do WORK for weight loss? Damn! haha PS - the Lane Bryant vouchers comment was funny and also annoying rolled into one as I still very much have to shop there/those sizes, dangit. <fricka fracken skinny bitches.....>
  21. Ha!!!! Hopefully out having fun!
