  1. That happened to me the first few days. I tried a SF popsicle and it really was great. It also seems to have kickstarted my ability to drink more and am now meeting my Fluid target daily. Protein is another story. The shakes make me nauseous. The Isopure drinks are too sweet. I have started freezing the isopure and that seems to be better but can't break 22 grams/day.
  2. Good idea! I'm doing the ricotta bake tomorrow! Can't wait! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I can't wait to start saving money. I am still home from work and am shopping online like a crazy woman :-) In the next week or two I expect to get several things a day delivered lol
  4. In sure she missed her mommy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I'm in Jersey too. Which hospital? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Hi there! I was same day as you. Also doing very well. Swallowing so much easier, slept on side yesterday, also started mushies today, have not yet thrown up! Sounds like we're both doing pretty well. The one thing is that I will probably miss my liquid target today. Given the no drinking before and after eating I fell behind on my first day of mushies. Will try harder tomorrow! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I just bought those cheap rubber ear plugs and the worked well.
  8. I was sleeved last Monday. It was pretty rough through Wednesday and finally feel like I turned the corner Thursday and Friday. Had a very hard time drinking and was very worried about dehydration so would be careful not to exert yourself or be out in the heat. No drain for me.
  9. Can't think of anything I should have that didn't but be sure to ask about his specific preferences: drain? catheter? etc
  10. Had a soft scrambled egg with some cheese in it as my first meal. Made a whole egg, filled my 2oz condiment cup with some and used my kiddie spoon. Ate about 1/2 the container which looks to be about 1/4 to 1/3 of the egg. Chewed it to death. BEST. EGG. EVER. Hardest part was not drinking but waiting 45 minutes and drinking now.
  11. I would def call your insurance to see what they cover, if it is indeed covered. Then i'd see the surgeon and their office will also call your insurance to confirm and will tell you what appointments you need to make and suggest docs they work with. 12. Do a search for Overnight Bag and you'll see lots of ideas! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. To me that does not seem like enough Fluid, especially considering the Snapple and coffee have caffeine. My doc said caffeine is ok but not at the expense of meeting my non caffeinated liquid target. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. I have them too. Your pcp should send all of the documentation to the surgeon to be included in the packet they submit. Did they do this? What does your surgeon say? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Good luck! It will be done before you know it! Tomorrow is my one week sleeve anniversary Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I swallowed the PPI and anti nausea pill day after surgery. Have them to me in the hospital. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Wow, I'm so sorry all this happened but admire your positive attitude! Speedy recovery!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. I did not. I had asked my surgeon about it in advance and he said that he might use one two times a year if necessary. Some do it as routine. Ask yours, I'm sure he'll tell you what his practice is. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I was sleeved on 7/18. Pain has been fairly minimal for me. More a general soreness in my core and back. When I move too quickly the indecisions do hurt so I try not to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am on day five. Gets better every day. Hang in there, rest, sip, walk and you'll be feeling better soon.
  21. I woke up with my IV and a nasal canula for oxygen that was removed as soon as I got to my room. I too was very sleepy for hours. No catheter or drain. I peed like a rock star after I got to my room. :-)
  22. If you did not struggle with this decision, I would be concerned. It is a major life decision and I am always worried when people jump right into it. It takes a long time (at least for me) to mentally prepare for the challenges and the completely different lifestyle changes required for this to be successful and once you come to terms with that you will be successful. Best of luck to you! Please keep us updated! We are rooting for you.
  23. I am five days out (sleeved on Monday 7/18). The first few days were really tough. Wednesday I only got about 26 oz liquid because swallowing was tough. Yesterday was better, got 40 oz and today can take larger sips and am on track to do better. I will say the first days sipping is literally a full time job but it won't be that way forever. Not really thirsty at all.
  24. I also was sleeved in 7/18 and have lost 8 lbs as if this morning. Feeling better everyday! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. I'm on day 5. The first two days I was wondering wtf I had done to myself and more so of why did I let it get to the point that I had to put myself through this. Every day is better. I had minimal gas pain and nausea but a lot of difficulty drinking and very sore stomach. I still would kill to be able to gulp down a glass of ice Water. Good news is I have lost 7.9 lbs since Monday's surgery on top of the 8 in the pre-op so that makes it worth it. Be patient and good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
