  1. My dr required it and I did the in home version. Easy peasy Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. First appt was December 28, surgery is July 18. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Depends on the exact wording of your plan. Mine says medically supervised so that would not count but others just say non-surgical weight loss program and it might. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. Good luck! Mine will be submitted end of this month for surgery on 7/18. I'm already anticipating the anxiety so can't imagine how you feel. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Jolly- I was same boat as you. Specifically ask your insurance what happens if you are a bit below the 40 after the 6 months. Mine needed to be 6 months of a failed program so could not lose. Other insurance requires loss so it is very specific. Make sure you know yours. It does go fast, I promise Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Wow that is amazing! Good for you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  10. July 18. Can't come soon enough Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Wow. So glad you are better. How does that happen? Just how someone is born or part of surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm not allowed to lose weight because the 6 months had to show that it did not work. Losing any more weight would put me below 40 BMI and I'd be disqualified. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. People suck. You look amazing Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. My mother died last month on Mothers Day from lung cancer related to smoking. I don't wish that on anyone. Please quit, surgery or not. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. It is very frustrating. I'm grateful that I can work from home on occasion and try for appointments at lunch or beginning or end of day but even that has been hard. I've had to have 22 Appointments over the six months between NUT, specialists and the monthly check in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I do not need several of those including mammo, Pap smear, colonoscopy, endoscopy. Every surgeon and insurance is different so you need to know what yours require. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Forgot to mention I also bought a digital food scale and Isopure drinks for the liquid stage. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Good luck!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I was annoyed with the six month thing at first but then it realistically took me about 4 months to complete all of my surgeons requirements anyway. BUT I was working so my schedule was not so flexible. If you are off for the summer and have lots of flexibility it may work. If, for example, you need to see a pulmonologist ask for the earliest appt and if it is a few weeks out take it but ask them to call you if someone cancels. But the bottom line is these things do take time and the pre clearances are important. If it is a bit later than you'd like that's ok too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am trying the insurance route but if for some reason it gets denied (surgeon is confident it will be approved) then I would definitely self pay.
  21. I'm still pre-surgery but have been shopping like crazy on Amazon based on things I've read here. I bought: 2oz Jell-O shot cups Heating pad Baby spoons Bento box for bringing my lunch to work when back to solids Protein powder Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Does it get you all of your required Protein and liquids Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Interesting, my surgeon has not mentioned this but I do still have some time.
  24. Congrats! You have Anthem, if I recall? That is who I have so have been wondering how it went with the resubmission. Very happy for you!
  25. I am the 18th! Counting the days!!
