Anxious! How long?

I am totally obsessing over my first appt. I am so impatient and want to get things going. I have been waiting a month for this appt.

How long after your first appt did it take to actually get your surgery date?

From the time of my first appointment until the day of my surgery was 4 months...started the process mid Oct. 2015 with surgery in Mid Feb. 2016 [emoji2]. My insurance required a 3 month diet and exercise plan and my surgeon wanted me to lose at least 20lbs before. It really did go by fast....I got my acceptance letter at the end of January and surgery was set up for mid Feb.

First appt March 2, surgery is June 21

First appt was December 28, surgery is July 18.

It's going to depend on your insurance. My first appointment was April 25th and my surgery date is June 22nd. I got the 6 month preop diet waived due to having a BMI over 50.

My first appointment was 10/31/15. My surgery is 7/5/16. I had a 6 month insurance mandated waiting period, but because the NUTs were completely booked in November 2015, insurance didn't start counting the months until December :(

Varies by surgeon, insurance carrier, and how many, and how quickly you can get prerequisite testing done.

From my readings those without the 6 month insurance pre-op diet requirement are from 2-4 months.

My first appointment was in 12/15 and my surgery probably would have been in late 4/16 except that the psych evaluation appointment didn't get set up when it should have. Then the psychiatrist pushed back the appointment so now my surgery won't be until 7/11/16. I had been hoping to be already out and losing weight by now.
