  1. Aww that sucks! Cause now you have to go through the pain twice...but it's good that you can still have it done! I had my supervised diet and exercise start today...11 more appts to go I lost 3 pounds!!! Feel better.
  2. Congrats danyel723 keep us up to date on your progress!
  3. Welcome Karen. Good luck with surgery. How long of a journey did you have to get to now?
  4. I've never heard of talking with a health coach over the phone lol. I am waiting on my psych evaluation and I'm starting my 6 month diet thingy tomorrow by having a 1 hour appt with my nutritionest and 1 hour appt with dietician.
  5. Hope things go well. Waiting for insurance sucks and then finding out you have to do 6 more months of waiting for surgery for a supervised diet sucks too. I hope your insurance isn't too bad. Good luck.
  6. My surgery with everything is going to be 17,000 for everything and fills will be seperate. I'm going through insurance though. I'd just keep calling and saying you feel really hungry and don't want to set yourself back after going so far and doing so well. For now I'd drink lots of liquids to help ease the hunger. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
  7. I am the same way, I only went to the doctor when I felt like there was something wrong. My insurance didnt require a 5 year history though they just want me to do a 6 month supervised weight loss before I get surgery, so I am doing that. All I did was try my best to write down all the things I did and how much I thought I weighed. But I've definetly been obese for more than 5 years, pretty much almost 20 out of 22 years.
  8. All doctor's offices are different. Mine doesn't answer the phone often either. All I can say is cut out sugars and sodas. I'm doing that now and I'm just starting a 6 month supervised diet tomorrow. Also I'd get baby silverware (or just start taking small bites) and chew a lot!!! Also try to learn to eat without drinking anything...that's the thing I am going to have the most trouble with. Good luck!:biggrin2:
  9. The first appointment I had was checking the heart talking and filling out paperwork on history etc. I had all the tests and labs done the next week and now I am working on a 6 month supervised diet starting tomorrow so I'd say around the end of october or beginning of november I should be close to surgery (hopefully) Oh and I'm waiting for my psych appt might found out when that is tomorrow actually.
  10. Okay I have a question. I know my insurance approved to pay for this if I do the 6 month supervised diet which I am but after I do everything do I have to have it all sent in again and get approved again? I'm getting confused due to some posts I read lol.
  11. I sure hope the 6 months goes by quickly. I think it will though because I have other appointments and such to goto while waiting, like the psych evaluation and all of these nutritional classes every other week. My mom keeps making my worry about the psych evaluation but I think I'll do fine. She can be frustrating. I just don't like waiting I have never been a patient person, it's hard.
  12. My insurance is different but it took about a week and a half to finally find out if it was covered and approved. Right now I am starting my 6 month supervised diet on tuesday actually. It's very hard waiting I kept calling and stuff...finally one day i was at the dr's office to have my blood pressure checked and they said they got the paperwork. All insurances are different though. Don't give up and try to be patient. I have to wait 6 months for my surgery and I'm trying my best to make it go quickly. Think positive.

I'm 22 and I'm just starting my 6 month diet if things go well I should be having my surgery in november
  14. I started my journey of everything in April. I'm 22, 23 in august and I weigh 419 pounds. April 5th was my seminar. April 18th was my consultation. I had Xrays and blood work done April 23rd all turned up negative. And now I start my 6 months of supervised diet and exercise on May 6th. I'm sad that I have to do 6 months but at first the insurance said 1 year so 6 months is nothing! I'm already using baby silverware to teach myself to take small bites and chewing chewing chewing! I'm eating smaller amounts, and I took junk food and sodas out of my diet completely! And now I'm also waiting on my Psych evaluation appt. My EKG appointment (they heard an irregular heartbeat at my consultation) and then I have the endoscopy and 2 week preop diet those will probably be around October! Either way I don't have that long to wait considering i started learning stuff about lapband toward the beginning of the year and they just started it where I live in March. My insurance approved me already just have to do this 6 month thingy  Either way I'm VERY happy.
