  1. Get a hand blender. Makes everything so much easier. Cream Soups were my salvation during that period. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  2. I had my sleeve done on March 28th and have been doing really good. I am now allowed to eat most foods. Bread and rice and pasta are still not allowed along with pork and beef. I was told I could have crisp crackers and have been eating rice crackers. Also has been well. Last night I had some Trinkets. I did not think about how fibrous those are, just that they are crisp. I was in a lot of pain for about an hour and a half. They seemed to be stuck. I wasn't able to bring them back up nor could I get any liquid to go down. They finally digested but it was definitely not pleasant. Just a word of warning. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  3. Just had my 6 week check up and I am down 32 pounds. Today I get to go back to unrestricted food other than a few exceptions. It is so worth it. The surgery was not nearly as bad as I feared. The liquids and pureed foods period seems to go on forever but it really doesn't. Feeling very good about the whole experience so far. Good luck to you who are having surgery soon. The anticipation is worse than the reality. And yes the night before and day of surgery I was asking myself, "What the hell are you doing?" Perfectly normal. The worst part will be over soon. 4. Thoughts for you today. By now your surgery is probably done and by Thursday you should be feeling much better. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  5. I measure out 1/4 cup of food and stop when it is gone. I know it takes 20 minutes for my stomach to catch up with what I ate and if I eat more I feel awful afterwards. I am four weeks post surgery. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  6. I googled soft diet bariatric surgery and found quite a few sites with lists of foods Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  7. I had all those fears pre-op. I had mine done on March 28th. I have never had aesthetic go so well. I usually react badly to general anesthetic but they did everything right. It is normal to have doubts and fears. Good luck Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  8. Had my surgery on March 28 soon after my 69th Birthday. I found being tired the first couple weeks to be the main concern. I went back to work this week- I only work part-time but was glad to be back. We older sleevers can do okay. Sorry I waited so long. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  9. Had my surgery March 28 and just went back to work this week. I probably could have gone back last week but not any sooner. I was in the hospital 3days and was glad for the time and help. You are going to be tired from the surgery, the anesthesia and healing. Please don't rush back to work if you have a choice. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  10. I went on Facebook shortly before my surgery after first making sure that I told family and close friends first. I have had no negative comments and lots of prayer and support. For me it worked well. I will keep updating. I never mentioned my starting weight- no one's business- but I am posting losses and if there is a gain or stall I will post those too. It is a way to make me accountable. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  11. Are you drinking protein enriched milk, yogurt or pudding with protein enriched milk? Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  12. Also sleeved on the 28th. Doing great. Adding thinned Kiefer milk to my diet. Get the flavored and thin down. Also doing strained and thinned cream Soup. Protein still my go to food. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  13. Thanks Jamie, what do used for the gas? The NP said to get gas x, but my husband just called n said walgreens said they don't carry it anymore. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App Found strip form under the tongue GasX at Walmart. They also had chewable type Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  14. I also had mine on the 28th. I am not really having any trouble with the liquids and since I like the Premier Protein drink I am not having a problem with protein. I wake up achy- like I'm healing - but nothing severe. I have only taken liquid Tylenol a couple of times since I've been home. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  15. Glad to read that you contacted the doctor. The aftercare is as vital as the surgery and part of what you are paying for. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  16. Day after my surgery found myself saying, "What the hell did you do?" I am one week post op and figure I am going to ask that question a good many times. Hang in there.☺ Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App

  18. I am one week post op. I made a thinned down cream Soup and put some pepper in for taste. BAD IDEA. I think I need to settle for bland for a while. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  19. Good luck. I am sorry insurance doesn't usually cover things until you are on Medicare. Praying for you. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  20. Hadn't thought of that. Definitely will give it a try Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  21. Fortunately for me I actually like the Premier Protein shakes both vanilla and chocolate. Sugar free popsicles are my treat. I made cream soup which I strained and that is pretty filling. Sorry you are having problems with the protein???? Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App

  24. So good to hear from all of you. I am feeling pretty good post surgery day six. I am hungry. I am doing my 60 g of Protein and my 64 oz. of liquids but still hungry. Hope I don't have to live with this constant feeling forever. I had the best medical people in the world. I have had a couple bad episodes in the hospital before but these folks were terrific. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
  25. Thank you. Still have anesthetic brain. I am 69. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App
