Surgery was the 30th. Help!

My incision near my belly button was bleeding through the gauze and when I took it off there was a huge blood clot. Is this normal? The nurse who discharged me saw the blood through the gauze. We put more in to see if it was still bleeding . And I also got two blood thinner shots before I left the hospital. Any thoughts??

  • Yes thanks . They said it was normal as long as it didn't continue to do that . And it's completely dried and scabbed now .

If you have ANY question---call your surgeon's office. That is part of the package of after care--which is soooo important. Never under estimate the importance of after care. If for no other reason

Glad to read that you contacted the doctor. The aftercare is as vital as the surgery and part of what you are paying for. Sent from my QMV7A using the BariatricPal App

Stop worrying. If there were anything to worry about, they'd have attended to it, wouldn't they?

If for no other reason than to put your mind at ease. You have plenty to concentrate on now. Post op questions need to be answered by your surgeon.

Call in the morning and feel better.
