  5. On my first consult, my BMI was 40. On my first nutritional visit, I stayed at my BMI of 40. Now, I just had my 5 month nutritional visit, (only 1 month to go), it's now at 36.9 and I have sleep apnea. I've lost 25 lbs. So, it's best you not lose alot of weight during the process or you'll need to gain some back or you won't be eligible for surgery if you're using insurance.
  6. @@Townsend143, Congratulations! I hope all is well. Sent prayers and blessings your way!

  12. Lately, I've been thinking of doing the bypass, but, I have these concerns: 1. I'm scared of having my innard's rerouted, 2. I do have mild case of Gerd, (does eating the right food still give you Gerd? For me, it does.) 3. I have sleep apnea 4. My bmi isn't that high. (The nutritional visits are really helping.) Not sure how I can make this final decision. Are there any other factor's to consider?
  13. I never had issues with my gallbladder, but I'll ask my surgeon about it.
  14. Congratulations! How are you doing?
  15. @@Tierra T Tij, not sure, but hope you can use what dpeters88 advised. Also, make sure you know what your Out of Pocket expenses are just in case you don't meet your deductible.
  16. @@jessgnc, I have BCBS of Michigan. So far for me, I'm on month 5 of 6 for my nutrition visit after that, it may be a month or less depending on how fast my approval comes back. So, in all it's 7 months.
  17. @@PorkChopExpress,that's great advise. How often should I eat fruit? I'm currently eating fruit every other day. I'm on month 5 of my pre-op visit. I rather get good habits now, rather than waiting after surgery.
  18. Don't forget to contact your doctor to check out your vitamin levels, too. Just in case
  19. I love premier protein! They ate expensive where I live, so I switched to muscle milk
  20. I'm thinking of switching to RNY because I have Gerd. Have you found out what surgery you can get yet?
  21. I know how you feel, get out of there when someone is eating. That's one of my tactics. LOL! And when I leave out of the room, it's not graceful, I'm dodging and running. Lol! It will get better, hun.
  22. @@Tiffanie13, Congratulations! Sent prayers your way!
