Gym
Without a doubt. This will make numba four in that area. My abs are full of suck and weakness it would seem. They simply couldn't stand up to the awesomeness of the spectacular beer gut I'd built....one stein at a time. I swear.......if I can ever get a properly healed abdomen then I will do yoga and other core work to tighten up the house that Budweiser built. Abs of steel? Probably never have those. At least I can abs of tin. Tin like the underpinning you see on mobile homes.........but only in the upscale local trailer parks. Abs of tin. My goal. You win for the most amusing post of the day. I love your attitude! If I can recover from giving birth to so many kids, you can do this too! even if we never make it to abs of steel! The human body has an awe inspiring ability to heal, doesn't it? I look forward to hearing your progress.

Protein bars
I bought a vanilla creme one this week, but I probably won't try it until I eat all the chocolate ones - I will let you know how it is. I also have a Cookies and cream one, unless the man has scarfed it down. let me know how the PB and mint ones are if you try them.

I'm sleeved, and I dump. Yup it's true!
I have not seen people saying that you can't just that it is less likely with the sleeve. which I think would still prove to be true. I don't know if it is a good thing (to help you make changes) or a bad thing (for obvious reasons) but we should all be here to support one another on our journey to better health.

I was restricted to walking only for four weeks, and then my restrictions were lifted. Your team should give you guidelines on what is appropriate for your situation.

Am I crazy?
some people who have trouble with liquids have more swelling in their stomach. my swelling went down quickly and that makes it so much easier in those early days.

Protein, Protein, Protein
Allow me to disagree. You can't expect somebody who's just had surgery to have 80-100gr a Protein daily. That's just not possible. I am three days out and my new stomac can't handle more than 3 table spoons of yogurt at a time if not less. We all do it at our own pase, as are all different. Weight loss is not a race and we all do it differently. I was not speaking of the newly sleeved............. I think we are probably more in agreement than not.

Scale sabotage
Even if you weigh a lot. I do. You have no control really. As long as you follow the program I think weighing at appointments is a more sane way to go if you can restrain yourself. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When to tell employer?
I applied for FMLA once I got insurance approval. The FMLA was approved in a day or two, I was scheduled and then I told them I would be out for surgery.

Personal Questions for after surgery
as to 1. I think the best thing to do is walk walk walk after surgery. I didn't have a whole lot of gas pain, I was walking very slowly for 10-15 minutes each hour I was awake in the days following surgery. I started once I got in my hospital room. I didn't feel like leaving my room so I just walked back and forth across the room. 2. constipation has been my only real struggle, and I take a stool softener, then I added a milk of magnesia pill, and benefiber. I need all three right now to keep things moving along. 3. anytime you feel like it, that has never caused a problem for me. but then, I also use straws without issue either. 4. I made bone broth for me and sugar free Jello using regular Gelatin and ocean spray diet cran grape, which I also loved over ice. I liked the outshine popsicles, and they were wonderful. 5. I didn't need a wedge pillow, and I would not get one unless you think you might like to use it later. 6. I thought I'd be sipping Water for the rest of my life. not sure how I got that impression, but I am glad I was wrong about it! I am looking forward to hearing how you do with your surgery. It's one of the best things that ever happened to me!

What do I tell my son?
it is hard to know what kids are ready for or will understand. you are the best authority on your own child. my kids are older, they've been worried for my health, I told them exactly what I was doing. A few did not think I should, but they respected me and I think they were mostly worried about the surgery it's self. Now almost 3 months out they are very supportive and thankful to have their mom looking forward to a long life of better health. but then, I've been open about it so there is no one to tell.
