  1. I was allowed to have it fairly soon - less than a month. I have a cup of coffee most work days. it helps me with my grown up manners.
  2. at what point in the workout does it start?
  3. do you have any sort of prework out drink or bar? do you drink during your workout? I've only had the slimies once, and it was when I tried to push myself to eat a normal bariatric meal after my Dad died, because I hadn't been eating much and was going back to work. I'd have to guess you may be pushing a bit too hard - but does it matter if you have an easier or harder workout or if your workout is shorter?
  4. the liquid part is the hardest part! I would imagine harder preop - but plenty hard post op too. hang in there. I don't know what criteria doctors use to make that call - but you want to follow their instructions to have a safe surgery.
  5. what sort of working out do you prefer? my favorites are swimming, hiking and walking. there are certain foods I go to on my "hungry" days that I know will fill me up without doing damage - do you have a list of foods that do that for you?
  6. your weight loss has been phenomenal! but ya do need your Vitamins as not having them can contribute to the fatigue and to the way you feel. I drink a Vitamin Water zero daily and it boosts my b vitamin levels. I like the rise and lemonaid the best. it would help you with fluids and not add any calories to your day. I am six months out tomorrow and just had basically a 2 month stall. scale is starting to move again. your body may have just needed a rest. You are probably not done loosing - if you care to loose more I am sure you will.
  7. I am 6 months out tomorrow and have not had excessive hair loss. I get my Protein, eat eggs, and take zinc (always have)
  8. what a very exciting day!!! and you're just getting started!
  9. it does get easier. at 6 months tomorrow I do enjoy my food, I have a wide variety of foods/flavors to choose from and physically I feel good. Hang in there. the Protein will help you heal, and it will help you feel better. it is hard loosing your mom. I am sorry. my Dad died unexpectedly less than 2 months ago. everything in my life is different now, I feel lost and abandoned, which is kind of ridiculous at my age (47, mom of 7 and grandma too) - but it is how I feel, so there it is. You are more than welcome to talk to us about any of this.
  10. stalls are different every single time as your body is doing things inside that are not so apparent at the time. my first stall was a week - 10 days or so. the most recent one was almost 2 months. now the scale is slowly moving again. just trust that your body will loose weight if you are following your program, and when you stall check to make sure you haven't been letting food or inactivity sneak in.
  11. the scale moving can vary widely. how efficiently does your body get rid of the IV fluids - how quickly does inflammation go down and stomach swelling go down. other comorbidities can slow down or speed up early weight loss. but we were all anxious for that scale to move, since being overweight was what got us to the table in the first place. Hang in there, follow your program and your body will surprise you with the changes both to the scale and not on the scale.
  12. @@Inner Surfer Girl YES. this. ^^^
  13. each practice has a different plan. I was only on Clear liquids in the hospital and there wasn't any protein. when I got home it was full liquids and there were protein options.
  14. rather than pick or choose who to listen to, I'd ask endo to speak to your bariatric team to come up with a single plan for you to follow. Endo may have reasons the bariatric team are not aware of and I would want to make double sure it was ok before stopping ANY prescription medication. My PCP and bariatric team were in agreement about me going of Metformin 3 days before surgery and that is one of the best things that happened for me because I did not like the side effects of that medication! I was on soft foods at that time, but I was allowed chicken because I don't eat fish. - I was more numb inside my stomach early on and needed to weigh my portions because I didn't get the normal full feeling until it was a couple of bites too many. as time went on the sensations return to your stomach and it will be easier to tell if you are having enough vs. too much.
  15. @@ShelterDog64 it also assumes they know or have control over when they are going to eat. on some of my work days I do not know when I will have break for a snack or when I have lunch - and on days like today (still at work) when I will eat dinner. so, I drink up to when I am warming up my meal, and then not for half an hour after I eat.
  16. there were times in early days when I would take a bite and literally walk AWAY from the table and come back for another small bite. other times I would slowly eat half my portion and then hand the plate to my husband to put out of my reach for 5 minutes or so before I had any more. Use a small spoon and try these tricks if needed - before you know it your swelling will go down and the pain will go away, hopefully new habits will be formed also.
  17. my plan allows oatmeal which I do not like, but the NUT suggested adding unflavored Protein powder to it and if you use any flavorings they have to be sugar free.
  18. it could just be that your stomach is still swollen, but are you constipated?
  19. @@Dub they even put your picture on the label? if I try the drink will they put my picture on mine?
  20. you could take a little lunch box with a cold pack and roll up cheese and lunch meat. like a wrap but without the bread part. you can wrap it in leaf lettuce if you tolerate that well. or wrap the lunch meat around a cheese stick. sometimes I wrap the cheese and lunch meat around steamed asparagus.
  21. @@char3672 straight up truth is I reckon I've already GOT the extra skin, it's just plumped out by fat. I'd rather it be empty. then I'll get rid of it if I need to.
  22. most of us seem to go through that same thing - you are normal, and your surgery will work if you follow the program. right now your body is healing from surgery. which means sometimes during this period you may hold more Water in your system, and at other times you may let that water go. you also may or may not be dealing with constipation which will affect the scale. the goal is not necessarily "weight" lost, but more specifically FAT loss, and that takes a little time. so hang in there and keep doing what you're supposed to do.
  23. the rule at the clinic I use is to wait a half an hour after the Protein shakes as well. not really sure *why* though. I am sure it varies by practice.
  24. that would be inconvenient if you er, need him during the hormone dump.
