Please allow me to vent.......
congrats on your weight loss! one thing I would recommend is using something like coconut oil for your body when you get out of the shower or tub - it take a bit longer to absorb in than a lotion but it does help your skin bounce back SOME. no, it is not cosmetic surgery, but it does help as does aragon oil on your face. I am half way to my goal. I know I won't look like I did before I put on the weight in my 30's - it is hard to say what I will look like. I know as we age, no matter our weight it is always quite something to continually reconcile yourself to the mirror and the changes.

What happens if you don't get enough protein?
I've noticed for myself if I am less than 70 my weight loss slows. when it is higher, I tend to loose more and feel more satiated with my food choices. let us know what you find out.

What do you tell the waiter/server?
I just say "oh yes, thank you. I always have to take some home" (and if the food was good I add, "it was fabulous, by the way")

What happens if you don't get enough protein?
your body will consume it's muscle (even the vital organs) if you do not get enough Protein. So keep trying

Weight loss is slowing only 10 days post op
it is normal for the weight to go slow - and will probably be slow until you can get more calories/protein in. you need to convince your body that you are not starving it. right now (the first month especially) your body is in full recovery mode from major surgery. weight loss is secondary to healing.

Any good comebacks?
I tell people that the truth is if there was an easy way out we would ALL be fighting each other to get to the front of the line. doh. everyone who has any weight to loose would do it if it was easy. OF COURSE. when you are not ashamed of getting the tools you need it really takes the wind out of their sails. thankfully I have not encountered that attitude from anyone important to me.

What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
I do not think you look old. my favorite facial moisturizer is coconut oil or aragon oil. :-) he may be doing that to get you to gain back, or he could have been taught his whole life to equate food with love, and he is trying to express that to you. you can both learn new ways if that is what is going on.

What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
YES. exactly this. my dear husband has always acted like he won some kind of prize talking me into getting married again. no matter my size. no matter my age.

Life changes, and nerves?!
you know what? if there WAS an easy way out I'd be fighting you for the first place in line. OF COURSE. we all would. so even if that WAS true it wouldn't be BAD. Obesity is a disease, it is not laziness. PCOS is a medical condition and this should help. there is no shame in that. I got some mild negativity from my immediate family but truth is they were scared if I would be ok. I am and they are fine. curious even. they are thrilled with my improved health. it is easier than doing the weight loss without the sleeve, but it's never "easy" advice? just forge ahead to do what you feel is best for you and let their opinions be their opinions. take note and move forward.

I'm engaged!

Increased water intake = retaining water and gain?

1 month post op
when I was one month out there was still a lot of numbness in my stomach area from where it was cut. as time went on I have gotten more feeling back, and that is normal. which is why it is important to weigh and measure your food so that you do not eat more than you ought to.
-
Where do I start? And with what?
my first food was touch down taco dip

Anti Inflammatories
do you use epsom salts in your bath? that is one thing that can help, also things like a cinnamon supplement or turmeric supplement may also help. and talk to your team. I had the VSG and my surgeon specifically told me I can have ibuprofen. I do not know what your doctor and practice would say, but I would at least ask.

Vitamin B. It's more than just B-12, and it's not all created equal
12 and 6 were seriously high. I use the garden of life womens once daily. all of my other labs were normal. so, we'll see how things are tomorrow and if any changes need to be made. I will say I do eat chicken breast, red meat, eggs, almonds, green veg. but I'd hardly say I eat a lot of anything - a lot less than I ever used to, that's for sure.

Funny Weight Loss Pictures & Quotes
just this week I noticed that the elastic waist on my work pants does not really touch me all the way around. so I am going to HAVE to buy new work pants, before I am in this situation. they used to be snug in the waist, with the elastic plenty stretched. wow. THANK God for the hips.

Vitamin B. It's more than just B-12, and it's not all created equal
I drink the Vitamin Water zero - I have to limit myself to 2 per day because my b Vitamins were too high at my last appointment. curious to see where they will be tomorrow at my six month check. I have no idea what kind of B is in there - but clearly it is working for me.

Exercise Timeline
I was cleared for other exercise at my one month appointment. until then it was just walking. but you can vary the venue, get creative. choose a different park to walk in when possible - if the weather is not good go to the mall at a not busy time and get circling the mall. I hope you're not stuck on a treadmill! if you are then please enjoy a movie or tv while you walk or a nature video - or an audio book.

Protein or paleo bread ok?
all the plans are different - so you are going to have to check with your program. my doctor encourages all kinds of food, Protein first - but I am allowed to have an oatmeal bread, which I toast on days that I have an egg for Breakfast. but mygoodness! I used to could eat half a loaf, now its usually half a slice. helps keep things regular though.

Deal breaker.
I was allowed coffee after a couple of weeks. coffee is what allows me to use my grown up manners. I drink mine with stevia and a mixture of fairlife milk and half and half. FYI I had a c section. it was 1000 times more difficult than my sleeve surgery. but I didn't get an adorable baby with this surgery
