illailla reacted to Karcares in Dating horrors
You might want wait to share that info until you know someone better. Have a single friend who is dating and she explains away her "small appetite" with " I just ate", or "not that hungry, let's just get appetizers". Not everyone needs to know your medical history right off the bat.

illailla reacted to P-Diddy in Demographics - Opinions - Weighing Options (no pun intended)
Further proof that I'm barking up the right tree. That the statistical model we're presented doesn't really give any information about my demographic in a meaningful way. This only leads me to believe my instincts are right.
I fail to see how suggesting that women who aren't my age aren't good models of my outcome is some how equal to needing a "PRECISE" demographic. It doesn't need to be "PRECISE" i.e. males in their mid-thirties with X amount of body fat etc...more so I was just interested in the very least that the models be male and I'd like to see them at my starting BMI. But strawman away!

illailla reacted to BigTink2LilTink in By request - BigViffer Workout Routine
After a while you will be able to increase calorie intake the farther out from surgery you are. But you have got to get a firm understanding on nutrition and what does and doesn't work for your body post surgery to consume. As for gaining muscle yes you can have success in doing it. But just like with everything else losing weight gaining muscle, toning shape, losing inches, that take consistent effort. You have to be consistent with the working out (not just cardio, but actual weight lifting and body training), eating sensible and right, and avoiding habit forming things that will make those gains you get in the gym not last as long as you want them to.

I have always been Social but the weight loss has gotten me back out in the World and the Confidence has really came back. The Great thing about all of this is that todays woman is so much more open to FWB and it allows you to have multiple Partners. I am so thankful for this tool that has helped me get my Life Back!!!

illailla reacted to nursejenny07 in Plastics done :)
Hey there . Thanks so much! It's amazing how immediate the transformation is!
To be honest, I was ready for plastics a year ago, I had been maintaining my weight, felt good, and just thought the time was right. The universe had other plans, lol! I had consulted with two plastic surgeons and had decided which one to go with. That's when it all went wonky. I learned that because this procedure is elective, it would. NOT be covered under my short term disability plan at work. FMLA was approved, which would protect my job while I was off...but I would not receive any pay. I couldn't afford to pay for the surgery AND take 5 weeks off without pay to recover. I ended up having to cancel my plans, and we waited another year so I could save up my vacation time. It all really worked out for the better. I found another surgeon, who I just adore, and who ended up doing my surgery for me. We saved up additional money for the surgery so we could pay 100% cash, and I had enough vacation time to take time off to recover, and still get paid. I'm taking 5 weeks off.
My insurance plan does not cover any part of my procedure, so I was completely self pay. We knew that plastics would be something I would want/need, so we saved for about 2.5 years to be able to pay for the surgery. We did not want to finance or create additional debt for this surgery, so we made sure we had enough cash to pay for it. In the end, it actually came out to be slightly less than we had planned, so we had additional left over.
Most surgeons book out quite a way, so I would give yourself at least 6 months before when you'd want to have surgery to start scheduling consults. I had my consult back in December, just before Christmas, and booked my surgery for June. She did have some opening sooner, but we planned for summer and around our daughter's school schedule. As hard as it is, because the whole process is so exciting and you're just ready to get it over with, try to see at least 2-3 different surgeons. You want to feel totally comfortable with them, and with their price point. You don't necessarily want to go with the cheapest option, but I saw 3 surgeons and one was about $10k more than the others, mostly because he was with a very prestigious practice. He was amazing, but I could not justify his prices just because of the name of the practice. Price was important, but mostly I needed to feel confident in my surgeon. Dr. Folk's work is AMAZING, she is kind, personable, honest, and very well known in the area as a top surgeon (I work in the medical field, and she is well known amongst nurses and other doctors as being one of the best). She had everything I was looking for, and from the first moment I met her, I just had a great feeling. I knew she was the one!
Plastic surgery obviously Isn't something we go into lightly. It is expensive, life altering, major surgery, and you want to feel really good about who you go with. Even if insurance DOES cover some or all, finding the right surgeon is so important.
I wish you luck! The time flies, and your surgery could be here before you know it! [emoji1]

illailla reacted to nursejenny07 in Plastics done :)
Had my first post op visit today. Everything is going great! Everything seems to be healing well. They think my drains (some if not all) will get to come out on Tuesday. Today they just cleaned the sites and put new stickers down to help hold them in place. Next Friday I'll get the tape removed from my incisions and start the scar care routine.
I'm starting to be able to walk upright just a bit more, but not totally straight yet. They told me to play it by ear, and listen to my body. If I'm not feeling pain, I can continue to straighten up more.
TMI - but I finally had a BM today. I ended up needing an enema, which I did at home. Really haven't been taking much as far as narcotics, but despite colace twice daily, Fiber, increased Fluid, Miralax, and two doses of milk of magnesia I still couldn't go. I was starting to get really uncomfortable to the point t it was causing some pain, so I decided to do the enema. It worked, and I felt to much better.
I still tire out pretty quickly. I don't like being "lazy" but know I need to let my body heal so I rest frequently and take naps a lot. My husband has been so supportive and amazing helping with all the things I can't do. I'm really hoping by next week I'll have more stamina!
After my visit I took my garments off to snap a quick update picture. Of course I'm still super swollen, but LOVING my results so far!
This whole processing has been such a blessing, and can't wait to see continued changes as I heal more. [emoji173]️

Just got home from the hospital! Still feeling pretty darn well, just a bit sore! I am still in awe over how well this whole thing has gone! I'm also attaching some pics to show my progress. The first is from right before my gastric sleeve when I was 262 lbs. second was from the morning of LBL and liposuction surgery at 169 lbs. Third is 2 days post op. Haven't weighed myself since surgery, and I'm still definitely swollen, but feel terrific

Hi guys!
I get on here every six months or so to update y'all I've never made a topic with progress pictures before, so I thought I would this time, as I've been maintaining below goal for almost a year now.

I ran my first half marathon in February and am running another in November, which is pretty cool! When not in race training mode, I run 3-6 miles, three days per week, and do HIIT style training (heavy weights and cardio) at the gym 2-3 other days per week. I tend to fluctuate between 150-153 lbs, depending on the time of month and just general day to day food/water intake.

illailla reacted to OKCPirate in My Libido has Increased After Surgery!
I'm single, so I had a while before I had an opportunity, it was about month. As I kept losing weight and got stronger it kept getting better and more rigorous. Now I expect things to go for 30 minutes or more. I am only dating women who work out, because a couch potato is going to have a tough time keeping up.

I had a TT and a moob reduction done. Both were marginal in necessity in my case, but since i had a couple of hernias to repair, went ahead and combined the procedures. But you are right that there isn't a lot out there given that women are still the majority demographic for bariatric surgery and are probably an even bigger majority for plastics.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I am approaching 8 years post-op (July) and am looking to maybe meet some people who are as far out as I am, or who are experiencing weight gain with the DS. I've started "back to basics" by eating smaller portions and watching my carbohydrate intake. If anyone has any similar experiences, I would love your input.

Dr Carmina Cardenas was my plastic surgeon. I am beyond happy with everything she did and the cost was half what I would have paid here in the USA. I also had wonderful
after care in Mexico. I feel
so blessed she was my doctor. Feel free to pm me about her. She is an artist!!
she did a neck lift, breast lift and Tummy Tuck for me. I'm going back in a few months for a bbl lift and fat transfer to my face as well.
I adore her. Trust me she is the one you want. She knows how to work with weight loss patients bodies!!!!
