Katincali got a reaction from UalreadyKnow in Almost 2yrs post op
Me too, I am 1.3 yrs out and having a hard time. I have gained 20 pounds argh. I was on steroids which accounts for some of it but I have been making bad food choices. I am going to do the five day liquid diet to get back in track. And get my butt back to the gym. I feel so much better when I do even if it's just the treadmill to start. Come on we can do it [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

Katincali reacted to NavyMom2006 in Any actual long term slow losers out there?
Waving my hands wildly here! I am 2 1/2 years post surgery. After my initial 70 lb weight loss (took over a year), I have gained back almost 30. I never made it to below 200 either. I have just joined weight watchers again to help motivate me and help keep me accountable. I need to lose 70 - 80 more pounds to get to my personal goal weight and I'm tired of my knees and back hurting.
This is real life so I'm just going to regroup and start again.

8-12 pounds a month isn't slow weight loss.
I have lost 178/180 pounds ish, and most of it was in small amounts monthly. I would stall for a week or 2 and then in a week lose like 10 pounds. It was stall, loss in chunks
This is my whole first year.
Month 1 21 Month 2 11.5 Month 3 13.6 Month 4 20 Month 5 8.7 Month 6 6.7 Month 7 16 Month 8 7.1 Month 9 7.7 Month 10 4.6 Month 11 4 Month 12 7 Total 127.9
I do not consider myself a slower loser. I think people have unrealistic expectations about what weight loss is like after WLS. Most people are not losing massive chunks of weight each month, the body just can't support that. I have lost another 50 ish pounds so far in my 2nd year, and I still have 4 months to go to hit 2 years. I'm hoping to lose another 20 pounds before the 2 year mark but my weight loss is pretty slow right now.
I went form a US size 28/30 to an 8/10 currently.

Go back to the basics. For me it's not drinking anything 30 mins before or after I eat. Eat Protein first, limits your sugar/salt intak. Focus on lean Proteins fish, shrimp, chicken, turkey. I try to buy most things fresh and unprocessed to cut out the junk. I've read that doing a 1-2 Week liquid diet can help to shrink the stomach and "reset". I can't speak from experience on that because I haven't had to do it yet. See a nutritionist if you can. TRACK EVERYTHING!!! I am meticulous with tracking every single piece of food that crosses my lips. Stay hydrated. I try to stick with Water, green tea unsweetened. I taught myself to drink tea without anything in it. (Which is saying a lot for a southern girl who use to drink sweet tea by the gallons) Write a list out if you need to to remind yourself of why you had the procedure in the first place. Start over! Take measurements, weight ect...don't give up! Stay motivated! Watch motivation videos if you need to. I pray, praying for strength helps me most! @@Onepoundatatime

Katincali reacted to thinatheart13 in 33 pounds down
Small victory today. My stall is over and now I'm 33 pounds down since surgery about 2.5 weeks ago. Two things I've really noticed so far: shoes are too big and my towel wraps around my body without giving anybody a peep show. Happy Dance

I am on day 8 of the pre-surgery diet. I was struggling ALOT during the first two days. I was hungry and tired and cold and lost without my food for comfort. Day three I took the day off work to regroup and rethink how I was going to get through the remaining seven days and I really started to turn around from there. By day six, I felt fabulous, I think because of the improvement in the quality of what I am putting into my body. Now I only have two days left until surgery and I don't feel the struggle at all! Hang in there Vernelly, it DOES get better! [emoji6]

Yes. Thank you
Loving it so far. Glad that it's private. It's great to have somewhere to go ask questions from people who are going through the same thing without judgment from others who are not

Katincali reacted to Padp in 1 week post op! First post
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am now the proud owner of a " sleeve". My surgeon
Dr. Anthony Maffei did a wonderful job!! It's an exciting journey each day...and also tiring
I can't wait until next week when I can have a soft Protein. It's so worth it, after only 1 week I lost
10 pounds!!!!!!! It is taking adjustment but my daughter had it when she was 28 , she's two years out amd her entire life changed around....so she is my role model:) she tells me how proud she is of me ...I have had a lot of health issues including autoimmune disease....I know that won't go away but I will have a healthier body to take anything on...this was an early birthday gift to myself. ???? Surgery was February 17 ...Wed....I will cherish
Starting weight 308
Pre op dieting and surgery weight loss to date ...286!!!
I'm happy to have found this support group!

I'm sorry you're going through this. What a jerk. I have a feeling that, in the end, you're better off without him.
