  1. I went to visit my mom about 3 months after surgery after 40lbs and she didn't say a word. I think that has more to do with my mother then my weight loss! I rememebr an old "joke" about when someone says "My GOD, you've lost a ton" that means that you had a ton to lose. Not exactly a compliment. Still, would be nice if someone said something nice:rolleyes:
  2. If I inject it with helium will I a) weigh less or talk funny?
  3. I guess it's just my personality, but nobody has asked me if I "should be eating that" how (insert expletive that I'm not allowed to use on this pansy board) rude is that
  4. "So, how's the not smoking working out?" Great until you reminded me that I'm not smoking. I could really use one now! Sorry, just a flashback to 8 years ago Curiosity, people always want to know other peoples business. "Thank you, I'm doing well" even if they didn't pay you a compliment, will politely end the conversation if they aren't someone you wish to share your lb loss with.
  5. I love new uses for duct tape thanks!
  6. We have winter coats where the swimsuits used to be up here in the great white north!
  7. Nobody is saying how tall they are--I'm 5'2", from reading different threads on here, it seems the shorter you are the slower the sizes start to go down. Everyone is built differently, my ass & thighs are smaller but not so much in the waist. Congrats on the 30lb loss!
  8. You don't say where you are located but, good luck finding one! My two suggestions would be Wait till you get to FL or try someplace like LL Bean catalog. if you get something like this: BeanSport Halter Top, Stripe: Swimwear at L.L.Bean you can kinda get away with the size not being exactly right
  9. It's kinda like getting your car painted and then getting in an accident! I like your comment that you have more skin then you know what do with--make some wallets out of it?? I'm in an odd goofy mood today. My positive comment is that you can use your hatred for the excess skin to keep you on track towards your goal so you only need to the tummy tuck once
  10. Love the avatar--I got it for the husband last year for Christmas as a plush toy (had to get it from eBay UK) Back on subject--my 5'2" sisters, I think we are screwed!!! We have to get much smaller to get much smaller pants I say we revolt!
  11. I've had four or five so far nothing
  12. I was banded on a Thursday and went back to work the next Monday (meaning more then a week later) I have a sit-down job but to be completely honest, I took advantage of the doctors note and took off all the time I was allowed. The first two days I was not a happy camper but the rest of the time was basically vacation. Looking back, I could've gone back the following Tuesday no problem.
  13. I am almost in exactly the same situation! My surgery was 1/14/09 but we started at almost the same weight and are stuck at just about the same weight. I don't have good restriction yet & my band is almost full. 4oz or 1/2 cup of food leaves me very very hungry. Had it checked under fluro last time and no slip or anything. It's getting depressing actually. I'm thinking about cutting all/most carbs to jump start things again, but I had this done so I don't have to make some foods off limits, you know? 7 days of liquids following a fill?? jesus, that's harsh
  14. You could ask if you need to limit your diet for the next few days after your fill. Mine give me a handout-rest of the day liquids till lunch-ish the next day, they mushies. Just ease back into real foods in case there is any swelling. Ask if there is an after hours number you can call just in case you really are having a hard time after the fill.
  15. I felt pretty confident with my PA the first time she did the fill in the office--I raised my shirt, she felt around for about 4 seconds and then put the needle in No messing around, she knew exactly where she was going
  16. I've had 5 fills--the first and the last ones were done under fluro. The other ones were done in the office and the PA had me drink water (thank god, not that nasty stuff) and she said when I felt like belching to let her know So, it's really just guessing based on what you are telling them
  17. I would suggest traveling with either The Foo Fighters or U2 After you get your bearings--find your local Kroger or even most large full service gas stations will have already made or made to order sandwiches and salads. You can just get the meat with little or no bread.
  18. get an unfill my opinion scallops, scrambled eggs and chicken salad should go down with not much problem--theres a lot of liquid in all of those things.
  19. 5'2" 205lbs still in 1X or 2X tops--I don't like too tight shirts and can't find anything smaller that doesn't smush my tits 16 pants.
  20. Walk walk walk the gas is in your body cavity not your stomach or intestines--gasX may help you, but only for the gas that comes out your ass. walk walk walk I honestly thought that taking harder steps, like almost stomping made me feel better. That part may be psychosomatic but walking does help. Vicodin doesn't hurt either!
  21. Some people get no restriction from one or two fills. or three or four
  22. There are no dumb questions, only dumb people! Every person is different, I didn't feel any restriction after surgery, and some people don't need hardly any saline at all to feel totally different! You may feel whatever you feel (lame answer, I know) People get stuck and say that it's absolutely miserable--don't risk it with something as sticky as Peanut Butter.
  23. Okay, I'm with you there!!! I think when you do the tanning you can wear a little thing, looks like paper underwear sorta dealio
  24. same as the estheticians that wax people, they've seen it before Do IT!
  25. --The husbands comment "I don't know if this is a compliment or not, but your boobs stick out further then your stomach does now" --Blood pressure at the doctors office today 100/60, thats so incredibly low for me!
