  1. One of the things they said not to have was any gum just in case it went down into the pouch. It could get stuck and mess it up. So I would recommend everyone not to chew gum ever. It's a big no no.
  2. Hey I just sent for that real photo one. Too bad it's only 50 lbs. but you can keep doing it LOL till your down to 50 from goal weight.
  3. A thread is a number of posts (and replies) with a title. A post is a reply to the first post in a thread, it's continued posts/replies. Hope that helps.
  4. I only get sore when I move the wrong way and the port pulls. It goes away in a few moments.
  5. I love it too cute. Using it along with my monthly photos. Fairly accurate I must say, except for no sagging LOL
  6. Congratulations that is wonderful news. Bet you feel terrific. Way to go girl!!!!!!!
  7. Have you talked to your doctor about relocating your port so it won't stick out so much? They can do it.
  8. I had my first fill Sept 19th and it was so not a problem, one quick pinch ( the did not even numb me) and it was over in less than a minute. don't worry.
  9. Almost two months since banding and well the weight loss is so wonderful a few big burps and occasionally a bit of discomfort from eating too fast or two big a bite is a small price to pay for how I feel otherwise. Don't worry too much but remember to chew, chew, chew and small bites all the time.
  10. Depending on your weight, and your age, I was tired the first two weeks. Now I have twice as much energy as I did. Just rest when you can and get up and walk every day for at least 15 minutes at a time, once or twice a day to start. It helps. Remember to have your protein that will give you energy. Good luck
  11. Your right it didn't hurt just a quick pinch is all I felt. The Nurse Practitioner did it in one try she's good LOL. I feel less restriction for some strange reason, but still following my small meals program. Thanks:tongue2:
  12. I am finding that the recommended eating from my weight loss center program is very very low carbs. They insist that you do protein first, then veggies then if you have a bit of wiggle room carbs. So if you eat as directed your eating low carb. What carbs I have are good ones. Smart Pasta with Omega 3 and protein, pita bread made with flax seed and whole wheat bread. Brown rice. No white flour or white rice, no sugar either.
  13. Sounds like a scam, I have full insurance and have only had to pay a few small co-pays for some of the shrink group meetings. No pays for fill or visits due to the surgery. I would check and find another place, most big hospitals have a Weight Loss Center and they handle everything.
  14. Wow congratulations on your loss. I hope I will be there by next year. Going slowly but I am feeling so much better. Hope you Celebrate by going out and buying a killer outfit LOL
  15. I don't work but there was no way I could do anything for the first week. Your in some pain and sore and want to sleep it off. Your bloated from the gas they pump into you to move your innards around. You are on only liquids and are weak as a kitten (at least I was). I felt a lot better about 3 weeks out. But then again I am 60 years old. Best to take at least a week off.
  16. I just lost a smidgen of weight LOL now an even 194 lbs. Glad everyone is doing well. Take care
  17. I quit caffeine for 7 weeks. I just started having one cup of coffee in the morning, what a treat. I feel better with just one. The doctor said I am healed enough to tolerate it. It gets me going in the AM. No caffeine at all during the day or evening. I just missed my morning cup of Joe LOL
  18. This is a new thread, and we post on it welcome to the site. It's won't take you time to figure out things. No haven't heard of them, but I was in pain for about a week and a half after my surgery now I am feeling great. It takes time. Join the September 2008 group it's in the forums list. Take care and this is the place for answers to any of your questions. Pati
  19. I am finally on solid food, but I still like my sip soups LOL I drink as much as I can but still am constipated, so I have a colace once a day, it helps. I also don not eat any protein bars or granola, I was told not to do so. They can get stuck in your smaller stomach and be painful. I do have one cup of coffee in the morning now with fat free half and half and spenda, it's a real treat and well it sure helpw with my BW's LOL.
  20. Thanks a bunch. You will be in the 100's in no time. I am just going day by day. take care Pati:tongue2:
  21. Corrinne did mine today and it was so easy. Can't wait for the Clothing swap I have some stuff to bring in.
  22. Oh my been posting my weight on the wrong thread. Well had my first fill and down 10 from my visit a month ago to the Phy. Asst. She is very happy with my progress. The fill was just 1 cc and I am on liquids and mushies for 2 days. I have been losing about 1-2 lbs. per week. I am happy with that. Getting more exercise helps also. I take it one day at a time and that is the best way.
  23. Yup I learned that fast. Still have to make effort to eat slow. It will take time for sure. Had my first fill today, it went well. One little prick and it was over in less than a few minutes. I now know how much to eat and that's what I put on my plate.
  24. I just had my first fill today, it was so easy, I was a bit afraid after the stories of being stuck like a pin cushion a number of times before they found the "port" one little prick from a thin needle and it was done in less than 2 minutes. I am on liquid and mushies again for 48 hours. So I will continue my diet that they gave me. 3 oz Protein for each meal, and veggies then starch in that order. I have had real good restriction so far without the fill. So looking forward to seeing what happens. I have never vomited, have had some uncomfortable full feeling and a tad of slime. But then got up and walked it off. I am losing about 2 lbs. a week and am happy.
