  1. I do the same thing as Jack with using Water instead of my snack. I also work in an office and keep a BIG glass on my desk and every time I think of it or look at it I take a good-sized swallow. Emily
  2. Hi, Rosa~ We're glad you decided to join us! The people here are great and will do everything they can to answer your questions and give you support. Ask questions and do lots of reading! Emily
  3. I had a urinary tract infection and haad been on antibiotics for several days for that...I think I surgery day I was on day 5 of antibiotics of a 10-day course. They said it was no problem and just gave me antibiotics following surgery and everything was fine. Emily
  4. Randy~ Love that comment! My father is a dentist and said basically the same thing. I hate it, too, but he's convinced me that it's a necessity. Emily
  5. V-8 was a lifesaver for me...it's a little more substantial and feels like you're "eating". Emily
  6. The rumbling was embarrassing...my family thought it was really funny that they could hear it clear across a room! I thought it would never end. I also had horrible gas problems, and once my insides started working again, had to really hustle to make it to the bathroom a few times. Emily
  7. Glad to know everything went so well. Best wishes for a continued uneventful recovery! Emily
  8. gentlespirit replied to paula's topic in The Lounge
I got unexpected company so only got to watch the first 3. I think Lisa is really good...it's hard to believe she's only 16. Doesn't sound like I missed much, though. Looking forward to hearing the guys...I really like Taylor. Emily
  9. Congratulations...you're well on your way! Emily
  10. Congratulations!! That's coming right up, so you won't have long to get nervous! Hope everything goes great... Emily
  11. Hope everything goes well and that you have a smooth and speedy recovery! Emily
  12. My surgeon fixed a hiatal hernia before putting the band on and didn't mention an increased risk of slippage. I'll have to ask him when I go in next week. Emily
  13. Congratulations! When's your wedding? Hope everything goes well for you~ Emily
  14. I like the chocolate Cool Whip...really fixes that craving for something chocolate and creamy...but I have to be careful cuz I could eat the whole tub! Emily
  15. I'm like Eileen...the meal just doesn't seem complete without a bite of chocolate! I've finally decided that as long as one piece satisfies me, I'm better off eating that piece than eating a bunch of other stuff trying to resist. One thing that works for me isto have a "Creme Savers" hard chocolate caramel candy...it lasts a long time and has only 20 calories. Emily
  16. Congratulations on getting your band! As everyone has said, it really does get better! The gas was the worst for me, too, but it got much better after about the 4th or 5th day. Just hang in there~ Emily
  17. Welcome, Dody~ I'm pretty new here, too...just banded a month ago. This is a great group of people...but I have to admit I had the same question about Blossom. I was glad someone posted the link to refer back to. She looked and sounded like a wonderful person that I would have enjoyed "meeting". Emily
  18. Congratulations!!!! The unexpected surprises are the best! Emily
  19. Pnut M & Ms were invented by the devil!!! They are my greatest weakness, too, although in a pinch anything chocolate will work. I'm still on mushies so I have been doing pretty good in that department, but even so I've sucked on a chocolate and it goes down well!! I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time. My first thought was like lianna's...maybe wellbutrin would help? I don't have any other thoughts that might help, but hugs never hurt, so consider yourself hugged! Emily
  20. Wow! Congratulations on such a huge milestone!! Enjoy your trip, t oo! Emily
  21. Congratulations!! Emily
  22. Congratulations...you're on your way! Emily
  23. I had horrible gas, too, and my doc wouldn't let me use Gas-X until everything was working "normally" again...didn't need it after that. Yes, people could hear my rumblings from across the room, too...it's a little disconcerting, isn't it! Hang in there...it will get better soon. I thought the vibrating pillow was a neat suggestion. Emily
  24. Is there a chance you can find a different doc to do your follow up? Sounds like this one is a real ass! I know it's hard to stand up to doctors, but if you can't switch to someone else, you NEED to go in there and INSIST that he do at least a small unfill. YOu can't afford to risk your health or your band by continuing like this. (I know, it's easy for me to say when I'm not the one who has to do it!) Emily
  25. I also have the "stitch" feeling on the left side by my port sometimes...but everything else seems fine, so I'm trying to ignore it and hope it gets better over time. For me the gas/shoulder pain lasted about 10 days but got a lot better for the last few days of that. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon! Emily
