My Get-Up-And-Go has gone
I don't know who your cable provider is but ours has an exercise section in On Demand where you can choose from different exercise "videos" Some of them are pretty good. My daughter loves to do it with me so at least I am doing it better than someone

Another good magazine and website
Thanks for sharing! I think it is so much easier to eat like this during the summer when there are so many seasonal fruits and veges available. I tend to do alot in the crockpot during the winter with heavy sauces and all that.

Hello halfway!
Congratulations! That is so awesome!!

Can anyone eat Shredded Wheat?
I have been craving Shredded Wheat lately and used to eat tons of it before being banded. I know we aren't supposed to have bulky fiber but I want to try. Anyone have any opinions?

Victory times four !!!!

I think my feet are shrinking!
Mine are the same size, just not as wide as they were.

Dang my mouth is dry
Glad you are doing well. Hope this fill turned out to be a good one!

New to Board
Welcome Sherri! Sorry you had a rough day. No matter how careful you are, it just happens from time to time. I do good with that for awhile and then for no apparent reason, it happens a few times, then I go back to normal. I guess it is part of band life :tt1: Glad you have joined us!

All February 2008 Bandsters Please Read This Thread!
I think all docs have their own method. My doctor is pretty aggressive with fills and makes sure you feel good and tight before you leave the office, doesn't play around with tiny amounts. He does make us wait like 5-6 weeks between fills though unless there is a problem. This method worked well for me since I hit my sweet spot on the second fill.

The two things I have learned recently...
Exercise is that pesky thing that sucks up all of your energy and makes you ache, but stop for a few days and so does the weight loss. It is definitely what is keeping me going. I am bored to tears at Curves, don't care for the looks I get at the regular gym, and don't get enough of a workout with the WiiFit and other machines I have at home. Keep up the great work, sounds like it is melting off now!!

Lazy
Maybe you should sign up for water aerobics. It is low impact and you still get some exercise out of it.
-
Wii Fit
We have had it for a few weeks and I LOVE it! I am still doing my regular exercise but it is so much fun. Way worth the money!

Thinking of cancelling surgery
I am the first one to admit that this has been no picnic. There have been good days and some very bad days, but it is so so so worth it. The good days greatly outnumber the bad and keep in mind how many bad days you will have if you cancel. I had done all kinds of research as well and I got a little freaked right before, it is normal. You will be fine, hang in there!

Can't fathom exercising
I have never been a big fan of exercise and my knees and feet would kill me whenever I tried. You will notice that as the weight comes off that it gets easier and easier to do it. I would suggest joining Curves when you get clearance from your doc. It is a decent amount of exercise for a beginner and it is over in 30 minutes. If you go a few times a week then you will see and feel results. Hang in there, it isn't so bad and definitely necessary!

Miserable!!
I did it alot at first when I first got banded, my DH thought I was nuts. Estrogen is stored in the fat and as you lose it, it is released into your body, thus making you a little on the hormonal side. It will get better, hang in there.

Would you get breast implant.....??
I have always been a member of the IBTC and am planning on getting them when I get to goal as a present for myself as well as my DH. I deserve it

A better chewable vitamin?
I have tried everything! I HATE the taste and smell of vitamins, it makes me gag and gag and most of them make me nauseous when I do finally get them down. The Viactiv chews made me actually throw up. I finally settled on the Flintstones cut in half and swallowed like a pill. The Viactiv flavor glides were easy to get down but they unfortunately made me nauseous for hours.

Is 23 years old to young to get lapband?
I think if you need it, then you should get it no matter what age you are. My only thought is that for a female who may want to have kids in the future. Having kids is what started my spiral into obesity and after every kid I had, my body got worse and worse, and mixed with lifestyle and age, I was a mess. I can't imagine being 10 years younger and losing my excess weight and then wanting to go through it all over again every time I had another child.

Can you help me with mushies?
You are in what they call Bandster Hell. Your swelling is gone and you are getting hungry again but don't really have any restriction and won't be able to get a fill for a few more weeks. This time was the hardest for me, worse than the preop diet hands down. The best thing to do is to just stick to the diet they prescribe as best as you can and not beat yourself up if you make a mistake or 2 along the way. I tried to keep myself as busy as possible so that I didn't obsess about eating, etc. I think I tried to limit myself to a cup of food per meal at that time give or take. It is easy to burn yourself out on certain foods when you are mushies since you are pretty limited, so try to remember to change it up a bit here and there. The weeks will pass and you will be on your way to restriction and the weight loss you are waiting for before you know it. Best of luck to you!

All February 2008 Bandsters Please Read This Thread!
As of June 14th, my 4 month Bandiversary, I have lost 72 pounds. I have had 2 fills, first was 3cc, second was 1.25 cc, total of 4.25cc in a 10 cc band. I am 13 pounds from the halfway point which I hope to get to by August 1 and 47 pounds from Onederland which I hope to hit by October 1

What do you eat in a Mexican Restaurant?
I always get the green chile chicken enchiladas. I have no idea what the calorie count is but I never seem to be able to eat enough of it to do any real damage. I never eat the shell and usually pick out the chicken. I rarely touch the chips & salsa because as much as I love them, the kick to the salsa usually makes me want to drink and obviously that is a no no.
