I had my surgery on the 6th and I am on regular food now, just adding a little at a time and I can eat anything. I am tracking my food on the reaize band website. I have eaten out a couple of times, mostly at Shoney's on the bar. I have a card that allows me to eat for the child's price $3.99! That is great! :thumbup: I have eaten a little of everything and don't have problems as long as I take small bites and chew, chew, chew! I try to stick with balanced meals, eating protein first. I have not lost any more weight though. :cool2: I started to exercise more yesterday. Actually rode my bike 5 miles on the Greenbelt trail (paved and level) took about an hour and it felt GREAT!:biggrin2: I know I will need a fill soon as I want to eat like the past and really have to work! If I stop eating then the fullness begins and I can stop! :smile:

Here are a few suggestions. Try the Muscle milk and put it with either milk or water and lots of ice in a blender. That is good. Also the protein bullets are ok, but be forewarned they do have the aftertaste. I just hold my nose and drink it down! As fast as I can! I had some tomato soup and it really helps. Use water and it is still good. Good luck, when you get to add mushies and then real food it gets better and better. I am worried now thht I eat too much. I think I am about ready for a fill. Just hang in there! IT will get better. Try to do the protein shakes at least once a day! You should be able to add soups and stuff. Try that! I am still sore in the port area and some days I feel like s#*t, but keep going. I used Isopure and The Whey bullets for protein. Now I get plenty of protein in my food. Like I said just hang in there. It does get better!

Laurakathyleen: I have hit several walls since my surgery! I will be good and full of energy one minute and then feel like a ton of bricks hit me.:thumbup: Our bodies are adjusting to a sharp drop in calories available! :smile: We are still feeling the effects of anethesia and our tummies are being squeezed to death! :crying:No wonder we need to shut down every few days. :smile: Give it some time. I plan to take it one day at a time and let myself adjust as I can. I am in this for the long haul and it is for the rest of my life. :mellow:No need to rush it! I understand after the healing process, the band begins to really do it's job! :thumbup: So I will allow myself to heal! :huh2:Hope this helps!:redface:

I am adding regular foods very slowly. I got the Realize band and they have a website for their band patients. You get a card with your band number on it and they have a complete support site. It is great! It has all sorts of tools and you can even customize your goal and it makes the model of before and after, like in virtual model. I am posting my calories on it. I have been getting an average of 1100 calories, yesterday I had 2200:cursing:! As my swelling goes down, my hunger goes up! I do feel restriction however! I have to eat very slowly or I feel like I have swollowed something the wrong way and it HURTS!:redface: I haven't lost any more lbs since I started on reg foods, but I am holding the loss from before 15lbs in all!

Keep up the good work ladies! Grey glad to hear you are feeling better! I am two weeks out today and getting better every day! The pain is still there between my shoulders (gas) My port is still sore and swells at times, but I take a little liquid tylenol and keep on truckin! I went back to work on Monday and had day and night classes Monday and Tuesday, but now we are on break for two weeks, I won't have to come back to work until July 7! I plan to complete my recovery then! Take care and be sure to keep posting! I love to hear what everyone is saying!

Congrats to all of you recently banded! Today is my 2 week anniversary! :thumbup:I am amazed at my progress.:biggrin: I am now eating a few solid foods, :lol:I am adding them very slowly. I was about to starve :thumbup: on the liquids and wanting more and more to eat.:couch2: I have found that if I eat a little fish or meat of some kind (protein) :smile: I can feel the restrition. I read on a post somewhere that the band works best on solid food.:couch2: That the liquids slide right past it.:party: I don't have any fill in my band and the doctor said my band was not tight at all,:tt2: but I can definately feel the difference in before and after being banded, so I know this is going to work for me!:biggrin2: When you first have surgery you are swollen and sore and that keeps you from eating. :couch2: That is why you MUST follow the doctor's orders and stay on the diet he gives you. :tongue2: If your band is tight to begin with you will be allowed less food at first, :angry:and longer periods on the liquids and soft foods before you move to solids. :smile: Then as you heal you will add the solid foods . They say to avoid the Liquid syndrome.:thumbup: My mentor, IndioGirl,(aka Janet) suggested this article. It does have good information. check it out!:smile: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f197/lap-...33/#post879194 I was beginning to stop loosing weight on the liquids and found that the solid food really is helping me! Of course be sure your Doctor is in agreement!:party: Anyway! I hope everyone has a good weekend! :thumbup: I am off work for the next two weeks and return to classes on July 7! I hope to return a little smaller and a little tanner! :smile:

Larin and Teacher: I am so sorry to hear of each of your troubles! Perhaps the surgery has saved your lives in the end! Larin, I can imagine how afraid you must be! I have a small leision on my liver and they watch it. I pray they can resolve your troubles and let you have surgery in due time! Teacher, I can tell that you have made your mind up to battle the weight without WLS. I would be honored to be a support person for you! Please call on me if you just need a friend! My sister also has issues with scar tissue from radiation from cancer, it has caused a bowel obstruction and massive scar tissue so she cannot have WLS so she is going to diet with me. I know it will be easier for me because I have the band, but I will support her however I can! I offer you the same! You are both in my thoughts and prayers! My best to yu! ps. Take a deep breath and smile! Your life is going to just get better! The changes after surgery are slow and you will recover quicker than you expect. Know there will be some hard times, but for the most part things will get easier with each passing day! Know that there are about 270 people checking on you each day on this web site thread!
