:lol:Before I started the process my BMI was below 40 and was never higher. I did eat with abandon in Dec, Jan, and Feb and gained about 15 lbs. I knew it would be easier with a BMI of 40. I didn't intentionally gain the weight, I just let go of all restrains! So, of course I gained! I have several co-mobidities. Such as sleep apnea and gerd and asthma, but I knew it would be easier with the 40 BMI. I must say, the eating frenzie was good for me. I got to where I didn't want to eat! I didn't enjoy it much anymore! Who would have thunk it? You are welcome for the June Bug list! I have had fun doing it! It has also kept me from mindless eating! :tongue_smilie:I am proud to be a Jazzy June and can't wait to see pictures of all the changes in everyone! So take lots of pictures! As far as the break-up...well, let's just say that chapter isn't completely over yet. We shall see what the outcome is! Don't listen! If the band didn't work, would insurance companies pay for it? NO :cursing: If the band didn't work, would there be so many people on this site with 100 lb weight losses? NO :ohmy: So! :Dancing_sad: go for it! It isn't as invasive, but we will have to work! that is ok! We will be healthier for it! Imagine getting sick later in life and not being able to absorb the nutrients you need! That won't happen with the band, they just do an unfill and your good to go! I am on the Clear liquids today, and I am having a struggle. I wanna eat! I will be glad to get the band on so that hunger won't be as bad! :Dancing_O_o: I have done ok on the low carb diet, but could have done better. Dr. Kramer made the mistake of telling me that I didn't have to be too strict, so I fudged a little more than I would have otherwise!:Dancing_sad: I will defiantely abide by the clear liquids, cause I am afraid that the doctors will look and see food in my stomach and not put the band on. :Dancing_hmm: (Just kidding). I think it would be rough on the stomach to be full of undigested food when they put the band on! :cursing: ERV: I think you are correct about the 3 of us. I think the other man was there when I went into the office, he wasn't 6'3 (or at least I don't think he was. Anyway, I will look for you. LOL. As you can see by my photo, I am a short (5'1") blonde female! :ohmy: I think it is strange that there are 3 of us and 2 are male! Kool! I hope to meet you sometime. :smash: I am sure you will be able to drive by next Wednesday. One woman on this board said she had surgery and drove home 2 1/2 hours the next day alone. I can't imagine that. I am taking a week off of work, I teach at a vocational college for the state. I will return to work for a week and then we have a 2 week break until the 7th of July! That will work out great!

One word of caution, with Cigna, they have a clause in their policy that says the 6 month diet cannot be at the surgeon's practice. It needs to be a separate doctor's practice. So be sure that your Primary care doctor or someone else monitors the weight, not just the WL surgeon. :ohmy: When I went in for my 1st consult with the surgeon, I ate a bunch of junk for about 4 days before and wore my thickest jeans and a sweatshirt and a heavy jacket, plus I wore heavy hiking boots and didn't take them off. I also may have left my car keys and my cell phone in my pocket. :cursing:

Good Luck Tammy! You will remain a Jazzy June! Keep posting and pretend you are preparing for surgery, or have a "phantom band." We can encourage you and still support you.

I also have Cigna and I would try it. The BMI is calculated by the surgeon and they always figure your height on the short side and weight on the high side. If you have records from 18 months showing the weight and also do the 6 months then you will qualify. The look at the weight from the date you visit the surgeon, not after the 6 months. If you did 5 months that might count. It is worth a try. Good luck. I had figures close to yours and they approved me. My surgery is the 6th of June!

It is good to hear you are doing well, I can't believe you drove yourself home 2 1/2 hours just a day after your surgery! You are tuff! I am getting ready for Friday and so excited! Glad to know you are ok! Glad to know you are doing well KatKeen! Thanks for the info!

Wow! :hurray:Just 2 more days and tonight! I am so up! I have to do clear liquids tomorrow and Thursday for Surgery on Friday! I was one of the lucky ones that got to do Low Carb for the past 2 weeks. I did ok, but the Doc said I didn't have to be too strict.... :crazy:Opps, If he had told me it was set in stone I would have done better. Oh well, I have lost about 8 lbs in the past 10 days, :clap:so it worked! Hope all of you are doing good!
