  1. GNC French Vanilla ON GOLD STANDARD (<--brand name) blended with strawberries and ice is AWESOME. I am so picky about what i eat (hard to imagine i know) and I couldn't even do a cup of ISOPURE or anything else but I LOVE my shakes in the morning. IMO it beats Chick-fila breakfast which was what I was used to.
  2. All of you are much better than I...I think that i probably ate a whole pan of fudge myself. I am not stepping on the scale for a week and am getting back on the healthy eating track and hoping to have not retained any "christmas" weight.
  3. Thank you all for your words of support. To answer your question I do have a lower BMI. It's nice to know that i'm not alone i guess. I think I may have just expected to much too soon and can't get that out of my head. Oh well January 30th will be here before I know it and hopefully it will start working for me and until then i guess i'm going to keep on going on my own.
  4. I don't know, I guess i'm just frustrated at everything right now. I paid cash for the procedure and had it done the end of Nov. I lost 12 pounds and that was it. So I told myself, well you don't have a fill yet, you're supposed to be healing...just wait till you get your first fill. Well time passed, more than a month and I got my first fill. Okay I thought this was it...nope nothing i don't even know what restriction is. Now today I found out that I have to wait yet another month for another fill. It is SO frustrating! What if the second one doesn't work...then another month. And thus concludes my venting.
  5. I got 1.5 cc's...and feel absolutely nothing. What about you?
  6. Thanks for your input. I feel no different and am scared that i'll be one of those whose first fill does nothing for them. Just like I was one of those who did not loose weight during the recovery time after surgery. It's like will anything ever actually start to work the way it's supposed to or am I destined to fail at this too. BLEH! Just needed to vent i guess
  7. Do you think their life will be better if you had this surgery and it succeeded (as statistics show that they do) or if you did not and continued to live as you are? I know it's scary, I was there myself with the "what am i doing to myself" thoughts. Logically odds of something going wrong are INCREDIBLY LOW, but on the flipside chances are obese people will suffer a variety of problems in their life. That being said you have to do what is right for you. Go with your heart, but don't let fear rule your decision.
  8. Congratulations! That is FANTASTIC. Keep it up.
  9. I don't sip either...but I just got my fill yesterday and am waiting for restriction.
  10. Or something similar to that...an accountablity thing that someone knows about. I've decided to start one and i prefer the computer over pencil and paper.
  11. Try to get frozen strawberries and a protien powder and blend them with ice. I now love my morning shake (and i am the last person who would ever say that). I did start eating soft foods too soon and have not lost much weight as a result of it. Just got my fill and am struggling through the liquid phase again. Good luck!
  12. Check with Dr. Jayaseelan. He has a few locations aka fill centers and they are great. Look him up on google for the number.
  13. Lucky you...i got mine about a week after surgery. BLEH But i understand the worry part of it.
  14. Being on liquid and what not. Does it acheive more restriction? Is it to give your stomach a break or what? thanks
  15. What is the purpose of going to liquids after a fill?
  16. Unfortuantly I have to wait until the first of the year for my first fill. I want it now but i will enjoy Christmas
  17. Mine is superficial...but my scale HAS NOT MOVED within 3 pounds up and down since I was banded. So my goals are... To lose 5 pounds before my first fill (January 4th) To buy and ride a bike around the lake with my friends at least 1x every 2 weeks.
  18. That happens to me too, if i over eat then I become dully aware of my port, I was worried to, but haven't mentioned it to anyone. I think it's fine still healing and what not.
  19. That's crazy, I had mine 2 weeks post op.
  20. Well i hated the groggy feeling right after surgery but since I got in the car and got home I was fine. I mean a bit tight but I had NO problems I walked alot drank water and ate popsicles alot, did my breathing excersises ect. I didn't need to take any of my pain medicine or gas medicine though I had them both on hand. I think the worst part of me was sleeping for about 3 nights I was very restless and uncomfortable. Woke up every 2 hours and was miserable (even then it wasn't horrible). Goodluck!
  21. I'm right there with you, almost 4 weeks out of surgery full apetite no weightloss *sigh* waiting for fill.
  22. That would be fun. I :X shreveport. No friends there though.
  23. I was searching for a post just like me and i've found it. Eating less, eating better not losing at all. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING. Do you have an update for us?
  24. no i'm right there with you. I haven't lost since 3 days post op. It makes me MISERABLE. It makes me think that since i'm not losing weight anyway I might as well eat whatever I want. Which in turn makes me MISERABLE. I can't wait until my first fill.
