I know that being transgender, I haven't had any issues but I haven't had my hormone injections since before I went to the hospital. I plan to resume that treatment this week. But I haven't felt any pangs of regret or anything like that.

This looks like my house! I didn't know they had espresso powder. How is that? I bought the pumpkin spice Syrup but haven't tried it yet. I will this week because it's going to be chilly.

I've seen a decent number of patients in their 60s get sleeved, even the rare patient in their 70s (never old than that)
I'm curious why the surgeon recommended the sleeve though. Did you not have success with the band?

Oddly, my sugar is always higher when I don't eat. It's much more stable when I eat low carb and consistently.

Good thinking! I'm sure it's true, too, possibly not an inch and a half.. but the concept is sound.
We also (obviously) lose from our rumps. Now, I always thought the impact of it shrinking would be a visual thing.. sure, you can SEE it's smaller, and of course, you can wear smaller clothes.
What I hadn't really thought about was how much lower I would sit in seats! It's like I had a booster seat attached, and now that it is disappearing, there is more head-space in the car, chair arm rests seem higher, etc. (And I can fit between arm rests! Lol!)

Here's an article I found doing a google search. Looks like one third of of wls patients lose a significant amount of hair.

Joann454 got a reaction from Sleeved in DFW :-) in Anyone else have no nausea ever and can drink a lot one week post-surgery?
This gets asked a lot and I was one of the many who wondered this as well. Yes it's common and ok. It's actually good! You can stay hydrated and get your Protein and Vitamins in. You will feel restriction when you eat real food. liquids and soft foods just didn't produce any restriction for me.
Your stomach may still be swollen. Mine was the same way.
My energy didn't return for 8 weeks but some people get theirs back much sooner.

I ate it because I couldn't do one more bite of yogurt. I have it occasionally with some cheese. Your calories seem really low. I wouldn't worry about the pb

Everyone had really kind words to say.
Even though it seems serious and long long now. This is really a short period of your life. I'm 2 years post-op. I live a very normal life at this point. You woupd never know I had WLS if you spent the day with me. I had Jimmy John's for lunch while waiting for ny car to be cleaned. I'm at a mall right now eating again, fish and shrimp. I'm going to walk around this mall, try on clothes and hit GNC on the way out for a snack.
This post surgery isolation is a great time to form good habits so when you hang out with your friends later you can easily make good choices. Think of this as your training period. Life will br back to normal sooner than you think.

So, in the beginning I ate so boring because I was scared and cooking was just too much for the little I could eat. But I used this for example.

Now that I'm three months out I use this.

One thing to keep in mind is not to have things too tight on your rib cage post-op. It can cause heartburn and a lot of discomfort.
A proper fitting bra is a must, one that doesn't fit properly will be hell. Just like shoes, too large hurts more than too small.

Also, I don't understand the magic of plus sized clothes but you can gain or lose 20 to 30 pounds and they still fit. Normal sizes 5 to 8 pound either way and you have to go up or down a size. Another reason I think most long term successful people seem to be the people that get completely out of plus sizes. Your regular size clothes have a lot more accountability built in.

No, but I did call a relative who is in the medical field. What I experienced happens to many people. I was told to lie on my back with my feet high above my head, and that helped tremendously with the fainting. All of this has to do with some very large nerve. It did all come back when I would go to the restroom.
I am better now, but I promise you all that I will talk to my surgeon about it. If it's not completely gone by tomorrow, I will go to the ER.
I cannot tell you how much your replies mean to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

Jesus, your boyfriend sounds like an @sshole. I totally understand that he didn't have surgery and doesn't have to change his lifestyle, but it wouldn't kill him to be a little more considerate in the first few months.
The first month can be very difficult emotionally. I've seen people literally fall apart and get sloppy wet crying face feeling that they were a failure because they had to resort to surgery. Those same people today are happier than ever and more confident than they have ever been since I have known them.
Stay the course, follow the plan, and things will get better.

Thanks very much to all of you. I was sitting here in tears, feeling so lonesome. Like I didn't fit in anywhere. You ladies helped me more than you know. You helped me to know that I'm not crazy!! I felt like I was! I wonder if Wilson would taste better than the broth at the hospital? I bet he would.

I retired and stopped wearing my suits and dress clothes and gained a lot of weight without noticing due to stretchy clothes. I knew I was gaining but not to the extent that I did.

I feel the same way. I am so uncomfortable in tighter clothes.

I tried on a pair of jeans that fit for five minutes five years ago. Haven't tried them on in forever and they fit. I'm ok if something doesn't fit because I know it will eventually!
