  1. Flavor Drops - Gourmet Coffee and Tea Flavorings, Flavor Your Coffee Anytime, Anywhere!
  2. Thanks Peg, I have heard in the forum about the injury, but have never seen it sold anywhere. do you have to order it online? I have been using EAS whey protein shake mix....3g protein and 23 grams protein.........chocolate is not bad and I mix it with water instead of milk. I also read in the forum about flavor additives you can get from capellacoffee.com they have loads of different flavors....no sugar....check it out.....
  3. Don' give up...give yourself and your body to adjust...keep posting and coming back....the more you talk to others the more it helps. I can relate to your frustration. My 3 week out I gained 4 pounds, but after really looking at what I had eaten I realized there was too much sodium and too much fat,,,,,,I was jumping ahead of myself.........be patient with yourself and try not to be too hard on yourself. After my week that I gained I went on a week of Optifast 800 cal/day for that week and when I went back to the doctors I had lost that 4 plus 3 more....I was so disappointed that 3rd week, but I will keep trying to do my best and keep coming back to the forum. The group is really awesome...thanks to everyone for posting and sharing your worries, joys and questions...........Julie
  4. Doing great! Ups and downs, but very glad I got banded. I'm looking forward to my first fill.....still alittle bit afraid of food and worry sometimes that I won't be able to loose weight once I am eating all real food and not mushy or liquid meals.........
  5. thinkthin73....I know there are many if not all of us who understand your frustration and pain....It took me 2 years of battleing with the insurance company and seeing several different doctors..in the end I had to pay myself, but the doctor that did my surgery did not demand the psych eval or documentations like some docs do.....look around and get some feed back from others in your area.............don't give up. I am soooo very happy with my band even though I have newbie anxiety and questions I would go through it again in a minute. Keep posting and coming back and let us know how you are doing............best wishes, Julie
  6. Anyone close to the Galveston area that may want to get together to workout? I have a membership at College of the Mainland. Julie
  7. Hi all and welcome new banders..........How do you know when to get a fill? I am about 4 weeks out and have felt restricted. I'm hoping a fill will change that.
  8. I love4 Pantene...it has helped my hair a lot. The intense repair that you leave in awhile then rinse out...........I leave it in and let my hair dry. If I sleep on it, in the morning it is really soft and smooth...but when the humidity hits even a good hair spray doesn't help....here in texas on the gulf coast it is always humid......hard to get outside and walk too. I wish I could exercise more. I have a tread mill but it sits there a lot of the time......Every morning I swear to use it more and by night time I still have not gotten on it.....
  9. Hope you have a speedy recovery...........please keep posting. Everyone's:rolleyes2: posts help others.
  10. I always had crappy hair..................tried everything...........just coarse and curly..........lol..........Is everyone using a protein supplement? With my diabetes, I still have food issues. So, I am always looking for new ideas that will work. Have a great day.
  11. What a month.......yea for us !!!!!!! 3 weeks out and the only real problem I am having is the skin breakdown from my steri strips.....................the incisions look great, but the skin around it is sooo itchy and red. The doctor looked at it yesterday and said that it is not infected.thank god.....but it looks awful...........everything else has been going great and I'm down 21 pounds.....:frown:
  12. Thank you BensonRN for the info. I never thought to ask my doctor that question.....I'm just now adding things like cottage cheese.....
  13. :party:YEA to all the January banders...............besh wishes
  14. Hi all...........I had that gas pain forever even with exercise. I thought it would never go away. I am 3 weeks post op and I'm still on my optifast shakes. I never felt full except that one time when I came home starving and ate the wrong thing and until yesterday had never had anything "stuck" I was wondering if I was banded at all....then........One of my pills got stuck and I was miserable........I will now always cut my pills up....:rolleyes2:
  15. Hi all ..............another work day ..................not too bad today. I still get tired easily and then that gas pain kicks in my left shoulder. Shouldn't it be gone by now.............. also my incision sites look great but when I removed the stari-strips my skin was so sensitive that it made huge open area that look like burns..they are scabbed over but still very red and itchy....they might be infected.....guess I will be calling the doctor tomorrow. Oh a note about my Wellbutrin and Paxil. I take Wellbutrin for my minor OCD and the Paxil for depression. I relieves my anxiety and depression very well....take care.
  16. starryeyed........................I had the honeymoon effect for the first couple of weeks, but when I tried to add food and then even gained weight I was sooo depressed that I was never going to be able to eat and follow a diet plan. My doctor put me back on Wellbutrim and Paxil that I initially had thought I did not need to take.........I felt soo good, but then the depression and anxiety kicked in and I begain to loose confidence. Now that I have been back on them I feel better already. I say do what ever you have to do to make this new way of life work.....keep coming back. It really helps when everyone posts.
  17. ...................and you will be fine. Freaking out is normal ......... I felt it and then I was post-op...........keep posting............Julie:welldoneclap:
  18. Welcome Joericua I too was banded on the 8th....just now 2 weeks post op and it is a rollarcoaster ride. I believe that this site will really help our process towads not only a thinner self but a healthier one. I wish I had been able to do this 20 years ago. I feel like I missed out on so many things with my kids. They are now 16 and 14............and I'm not going to miss out on anything else if I can in anyway help it. Good luck and hope to see you back.
  19. Freedomusa03 welcome and good luck with your upcoming surgery...keep coming back and let us know how you are doing..............Julie
  20. I really like this quote............I sure hope I learned it well and don't have to fail to learn it again................Much better today. I am back on optifast for another week before I start adding foods again......ahhhh, my security blanket.
  21. ttallman....I too am afraid to move on to foods...optifast is like a security blanket. I tried to add foods this week and gained 4 lbs.....doctor says its fluid but to me its 4 lbs...everything i better when I am on my optifast.....although I know I need to move on to foods, I just don't want to today.....

  23. Ever since my surgery, my friends, family and co-workers have been asking me "do you feel full????" My answer has always been NO and I don't feel hungry either. I went from liquids to mushy gradually adding new foods. I never felt full. I was even wondering if I even had a band. No vomiting, no nausea....then it happened.....I was gone from home longer than I had intended and when I got home I was really really really hungry. I had dinner all planned out, but when I got in the door it smelled sooo good. My son had made meatballs and I just started eating....no plate, no measuring, no weighing and certainly no thought or self control.............OMG........Did I ever feel BAD....I was miserable.......physically and mentally. Who said Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently...... I need to print this and keep it close so I never do that again.
  24. You are in my prayers for a great day and speedy recovery. Keep us posted !!!
  25. I went back to work last friday for a short 4 hour shift (10 days after surgery) and it was not too bad so I did 2 full shifts on Sunday and Monday (12 hour shifts) and this morning I feel soooo weird and slept until 1100 I have been having really intense vivid dreams. I am light-headed and my fasting BS was high. I guess I way over did it and today is going to be a bust. I feel like a zombie and can remember my dreams like I had seen them in the movie theater........weird.
