  1. Yep, us band to sleeve patients have it completely different. I haven't had any problems with eating or drinking anything, which disturbed me for months. I expected all the things I read on here - BIG mistake!! I don't have to chew a million times and I can chug Water just like before. Another thing, us revision patients lose SLOWLY as I found out only after surgery. My surgeon doesn't really have an explanation as to why this is, but he says it is indeed a fact. As far as the surgery itself and post op, I had quite a bit of pain because of my 2nd hiatal hernia repair. Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside of me, lol. Wish you well! Hope you have a little quicker weight loss than I am having. But it's still better than before
  2. Doesn't sound like a a lot to me. But from the get go, I've been different from everyone else. I am not having the same success as others, rarely feel restriction or fullness, extremely slow loser, have no problems physically eating foods that others swear they can't handle, etc. As proof of my compliance, I've been tracking everything I eat on myfitnesspal.com. I average between 700-800 calories a day, but believe me, I could eat more. I am tempted to tell my doc to go back in and make my sleeve smaller! So disappointed, but hey, what else can I do! ?

    How long is the procedure?

Mine was over 2 hours long. I was a band-to-sleeve revision plus hiatal hernia repair.
  4. I wondered that too! I don't like thinking about it too much lol.
  5. Omg, this was too funny! I needed a chuckle so thank you!
  6. Really? Cause my dr said no more bread, Pasta, or rice ever! Forever is a long time. That has me more scared then the actual surgery pain. Do you enjoy food like you did before just in smaller portions? Cause I'm afraid eating for me will always have to be a challenge from here on out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Question is can you or should you? I can easily eat pasta and bread but don't eat it since I am still in weight loss mode. But my sleeve is fine with it. Rice I really can't tolerate. Lol! I am certain we all know we shouldn't. But sometimes you gotta live a little!
  7. Oh my goodness. I almost posted this same question today, lol. I won't go to the movie theater because I have always gotten popcorn. Yes, with extra butter. Kinda makes me sad. Maybe one day my husband and I will go and get a small, lol.

Why do some folks try to ruin this forum?

No such recipes, my friend. However......spent 5 weeks in Japan and while there I went native. Thank the Lord above that the weekends were mine....all mine....and I could hop aboard trains and get back to Tokyo & Kyoto for some menus that were more in line with what I was accustomed to in the states. Hard Rock Cafe spared my sanity on those weekend getaways. The weekdays were spent further out in the "country" areas where I was working. The stuff I ate was.....well....by our standards here.....vastly different.....but everything was perfectly prepared and tasty. Funny story is that one of my co-workers was dead set on sticking with KFC, Wendy's and McDonalds while we were there on one of the trips. He contracted a bad stomach virus while there. I'd chose to go all in with their food....their culture.....had a blast and came home no worse for the wear. And as far as the skewering comment goes........I've been working a long string of consecutive workdays with a few more to go. Trust & Believe that I'm ready to do some skewering. It's becoming an undeniable need that must be met. I can't wait until my next day off when I can skewer my back out !!!!!!!!!!!! Kampai !!!!!!!!!!!! Is it getting hot in here? Or is it just me? Whew!
  13. I had lost 17 pounds in 12 weeks (also following my plan perfectly) I'm now sitting 12 pounds below goal and have been for over 1 1/2 years. The rate that you lose has absolutely nothing to do with your ultimate success. Just stick on plan, sit back and enjoy the NSVs. And stay off the scale if it upsets you so much. I would so love an NSV!!! Still not one yet.
  14. I could have written this exact post. I've lost 13 pounds too. It's so frustrating but I've discovered I can't compare myself to anyone else and if I'm doing everything right the weight will eventually come off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm sorry we are in the same rut. Wish something would happen to speed things up for us. It's so depressing thinking of how much money, time, and pain I spent for this tiny amount of weight loss.
