As you'll always be his little girl, he'll always be your Daddy. He gave you a foundation that will support you from here on.

As a daughter, now is your time to "give". Give your dad all of the love and support that you can and then give some more. Be strong enough to know and fulfill HIS wishes, graciously and with dignity. That is what a daughter does. I know. My father passed away slowly over a five month span. Dignity and grace. I made sure he had those two things--which were vital to him. Sending prayers up for you and your father.

  4. Our beautiful American flag is out. Watching 9-11 documentaries as we have done for the past 15 years. God bless all those that perished. I will never forget!

      Well put and Thank YOU.

  5. Yep, us band to sleeve patients have it completely different. I haven't had any problems with eating or drinking anything, which disturbed me for months. I expected all the things I read on here - BIG mistake!! I don't have to chew a million times and I can chug Water just like before. Another thing, us revision patients lose SLOWLY as I found out only after surgery. My surgeon doesn't really have an explanation as to why this is, but he says it is indeed a fact. As far as the surgery itself and post op, I had quite a bit of pain because of my 2nd hiatal hernia repair. Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside of me, lol. Wish you well! Hope you have a little quicker weight loss than I am having. But it's still better than before
  6. Mother of the bride dress needed! Wedding is August 26. Need a complete wardrobe too, not because of my massive weight loss (said with sarcasm) but because I live in frumpy house dresses. Question: How long do I wait before I start browsing the stores for 'the dress' given that I am 2 months post op and could (hopefully) lose more weight?

Congrats! I would either order one in two or three different sizes, have one custom made by someone who is able to do last minute alterations. What fun!!!

  7. Doesn't sound like a a lot to me. But from the get go, I've been different from everyone else. I am not having the same success as others, rarely feel restriction or fullness, extremely slow loser, have no problems physically eating foods that others swear they can't handle, etc. As proof of my compliance, I've been tracking everything I eat on myfitnesspal.com. I average between 700-800 calories a day, but believe me, I could eat more. I am tempted to tell my doc to go back in and make my sleeve smaller! So disappointed, but hey, what else can I do! ?

    How long is the procedure?

Mine was over 2 hours long. I was a band-to-sleeve revision plus hiatal hernia repair.
  9. I wondered that too! I don't like thinking about it too much lol.
  10. Omg, this was too funny! I needed a chuckle so thank you!
  11. Really? Cause my dr said no more bread, Pasta, or rice ever! Forever is a long time. That has me more scared then the actual surgery pain. Do you enjoy food like you did before just in smaller portions? Cause I'm afraid eating for me will always have to be a challenge from here on out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Question is can you or should you? I can easily eat pasta and bread but don't eat it since I am still in weight loss mode. But my sleeve is fine with it. Rice I really can't tolerate. Lol! I am certain we all know we shouldn't. But sometimes you gotta live a little!
  12. Oh my goodness. I almost posted this same question today, lol. I won't go to the movie theater because I have always gotten popcorn. Yes, with extra butter. Kinda makes me sad. Maybe one day my husband and I will go and get a small, lol.
