First let me say that i have been reading these forums for months but have never commented before. Many of your stories kept me sane because I know others are going through the same things I am right now. Yesterday I finally reached it. Beginning at 275lbs in February 2015, surgery date Nov 6 2015 (SW 255), I am now 199.1. I haven't been under 200 lbs in so long. I just had to share the news with those of you who really understand my struggle.

Variety is what saved me on the pre-op diet, and the liquid portion of the post op diet.
Swanson Mexican tortilla broth, Mio flavored Water, Crystal Lights, Vitamin Water Zero, Gatorade G2, Egg Drop Soup, Unsweet teas, flavored hot teas, etc... Syntrax Nectars were what I found to be my favorite Protein drink but the Premier Protein are also good.
The first few days are the hardest, but you can do this.

mgpino619 reacted to OutsideMatchInside in Does this look ok to you? Sample meal plan 3 months.
I have Quest bars 1-3 times a month. The net carbs are low, but they are a really processed item. I keep on in my purse just for emergencies.
i'd drop the egg and the Protein bar for lunch and have baked fish, grilled chicken, deli ham or something.
i would also trade the yogurts for like a Syntrax nectar.
You will feel more satisfied with eating real food, that is denser. Fish is not dense but it is more filling than yogurt. You are eating a lot of processed food and sneaking in a lot of unnecessary carbs.
This isn't a bad menu now and then for busy days but I wouldn't eat like this every day. I also wouldn't pack in so many calories at dinner. I would have that dinner meal at lunch and the lunch meal at dinner.
At 3 months you are still healing. When you get further out, like 5 or 6 months. Those yogurts are not going to satisfy you you are going to be constantly hungry. You need more real solid food, and build a habit of it. Quest bars, depending on what bar you choose, don't last in the stomach that long either.
At 3 months I did one or 2 Protein shakes a day and the rest was baked fish. Quest bars as emergency/treat food only. Like if I wanted fruit I had a quest fruit flavored bar instead.

The nurses from the hospital just called to do my pre-registration. They told me where to go, what to bring, reiterated my pre-op diet of clears the day before and nothing past midnight, went over my meds, and had me pay my Tricare Standard copayment for the surgery - a whopping total of $18! W00t!!! Lol!
It feels so real now! And it's so close. 5 more days!!!!
To be honest, I'm getting a little nervous...just a little.

I have some loose skin on my upper thighs, upper arms, breasts and lower belly. Overall it's not bad though. I've done a lot of weight training which has really helped my arms. I have these saggy pockets on my upper thighs that I'm self conscious about, but it just means that I'm not going to wear short shorts---and I'm ok with that at age 35. My boobs are deflated, wrinkly blobs that I will probably get fixed once I've maintained for 1 year.

I had and still have a high bmi. I started at 70, now down to 63 in about 2 months (lost 40 pounds) . I consider myself a slow loser considering my high bmi, but I am losing.

I am telling no one except my partner because we live together and well she will help take care of me after and be there for my surgery.
No one needs to know other than her and I will tell no one.
I started spreading the word at Christmas that I was seeing a nutritionist and starting a new diet the 1st of the year. If anyone asks I tell them high Protein , low to no carbs.
As for surgery itself, I have taken time off work for surgery...Hiatial hernia repair. That's what I told them and honestly, it's all they need to know.
    Close enough I say! ????

I have a peeve. And it helps me be self destructive. When I'm doing something healthy for myself and someone looks at me seriously and tells me to do A. B. C. when I just finished telling them that I'm doing A. B. C.... I want to hold them down and pee on them.

    Then go have a pizza.

    Made of brownies.

Does that just irk anyone else?

    Hi! I'm tall. ????
    I'm 6'1. 25 years old.
    Highest weight: 322 (in November).
    Pre-surgery: 319.
    Day of surgery: 314.
    Currently (9 days out): 298.
My surgeon's goal weight for me is 200. My primary care's goal is 210. I don't remember ever being in the 100's. I was 200 lbs in middle school. And even when I played basketball in college I was a firm (very muscular) 220.

I'm 5'10" and my first real goal is 250lbs, then 200lbs. If I continue to lose from there, great! If not, oh well. 250 will be the smallest I've been in 13 years so I will consider that a huge accomplishment. As long as I'm healthy and happy, I'll be fine with whatever weight!

I'm 5'11 and my start weight the day of surgery was 397lbs. I'm now 279 and my dr said I should be lucky if I get to 209lbs. I can't remember weighing that ever so I will just take it as it comes and see how I feel. I know that I'd like to be under 200lbs for sure.

    So true!
I kept my surgery to myself except for my husband, sister, and 2 good friends, one of which was also have the surgery.
I did not care or need the comments people would offer regardless if I have asked their opinion, before or after the surgery. And when people say "you've lost weight" I say "well, I do what I can" or "sure trying to" or the even "its a struggle".
The people who know see me working my butt off literally, and the people who don't know, well they see me working my butt off literally.

"Your husband must be so happy now!". Really?! Because our relationship must have been completely based on looks and at 100 lbs heavier I must have somehow been a disappointment to him? I'm not sure how people realizes this sounds, but to me it implies that I went through surgery only for my husband's personal happiness and not my own!!
