  2. that is very worrisome! is there another bariatric doc near you?

  4. i didnt pick fruits b/c i wanted ones with protein- i will try to add seasoning- (great idea thanks!) for now i am savoring my yogurt!!!
  5. baby food is disgusting! today was my first day on mushies and i had gone to the store and picked the highest protein baby food i could find. EW EW EW EW any one else try baby food?
  6. I am a new bandster- but I would be worried (did i say new NEUROTIC banster??) I have read other people on here that had band slippage that seemed to present that way!! Sounds like you need an unfill stat!! xoxo, Lisa
  7. that is worrisome- have you had a barium swallow?
  8. oh hell girl- better a big head than a big butt i say!!
  9. lol babs *hugs* i am sorry my neurosis is infectious! I bet we will both be just fine!
  10. maybe your pouch shrinks after liquids, likely your band stays the same.
  11. thanks guys- travelgirl i think i may be in your neck of the woods (am in KCMO)
  12. thanks- maybe real food will help move things along!! tomorrow morning i will have some oatmeal! (i know we are supposed to use high protein foods first but I think i will make an exception)
  13. I cannot stop hiccuping! I called my doctor's office and they told me not to drink anything cold (no way can i tolerate a warm Protein shake) I am 15 days post op. I have also read that it can be from drinking too fast or distension- well when i wake up in the morning the first thing i do is hiccup- way before i have anything!! maybe my nerves are still locally irritated from the surgery- i hope this gets better! The hiccups arent very violent or anything so I dont think they should cause a problem but I guess I am just looking for reassurance!
  14. you guys are too funny- (i personally see nothing wrong with licking a slice or two)
  15. I too am having such trouble- I had a small movement about 10 days post op that I really had to work for- and that is it. (banded 1/15) I put Fiber in almost every liquid i drink- i even put it in my Jello. I am drinking miralax, and now started taking the chewable fiber tabs as well (i am concerned they might stretch my pouch- any thoughts?) yesterday I even did an enema with very little luck. i am very concerned that I am impacted. that is the trouble when you get your surgery far away, now I have no one to go to. :frown: does oatmeal count as a mushy? or can it expand and fill the pouch- i was thinking of making it somewhat soupy! (i start mushies tomorrow) i walk tons and drink all day- i was worried this would happen post op and just sat there in pain trying not to use narcotics. I mostly took tylenol. I sure hope this gets better.
  16. I hope I learn from you and never eat pizza but I bet you i will break down at some point and have to learn the hard way!!
  17. it might have been your pouch distended with food
  18. i had the same clause- not only did i have to self pay, but if something goes wrong i will have to pay for that too!
  19. I am jealous! My port sticks out already blatantly through my clothes and i am 2 weeks post op! My doc better not have any trouble with fills!! it might also be the kind of port that is self anchoring as well- they are less likely to flip! - good luck!
  20. no I dont think all doctors do, in my operative report it states that the excess tubing was placed into the abdominal cavity.
  21. I am very short, as such I had asked my doctor if he was going to trim the tubing (I wonder if not doing so can increase chances of kinking and bowel strangulation) He said that he would, but then I read the operative report and he did not. Have any of you had your tubing trimmed? Ever hear anything about it?
  22. My understanding is that a doctor can only be legally accountable if he did not adhere to the standard of care or give you "informed consent" including all the risks involved with surgery including rejection and infection which I believe are well known. I am sure he had you sign consent. I am self pay too so I feel your pain- I would be devastated in your position, just devastated!! Just reading these posts makes me paranoid about pains that I have. I wish you the best of luck and my heart goes out to you. I dont think NSAIDS would cause rejection- more likely they would cause erosion since they inhibit prostagladins and irritate the gastric mucosa. I hope your doc can help make things right.
  23. it would be very unusual for your seizure to be from the fill since by definition seizures come from the brain- that is why they did that EEG on you. Some medications can lower your seizure threshold. I wish you luck!
  24. i havent had a fill yet but it feels like my port is above my incision
  25. I was just wondering... I have heard different things. can chewable Fiber tabs stretch your pouch?
