tsims- Dr. David Carroll is in Jackson, MS- about 3.5 hours away from me. He does fills on mexican banded patients at $150/fill without fluoro. I'm willing to make the drive. His office (601)366-6606. There is a doctor in Decatur. I don't have the info in front of me. The nurse said that they will start doing fills for mexican banded patients in February. I can get more info if you're interested. My 6 weeks will be the beginning of January, and I think I'm going to just go to Jackson. Good luck! If you find someone else, PLEASE let me know.
  2. Get Dayquil though, as Nyquil will make you sleepy. Not good for finals!
  3. E-Financing Solutions http://efinancing-solutions.com/ Phone: 800.728.9585 Fax: 800.730.1014 Email: info@efinancing-solutions.com They financed me, and I have bad credit.
  4. Congrats Victoriana! I'm 12 days post op- and I can tell you that it gets better every single day. It has for me so far. I also have a fear of the unknown, and reading the sad posts here lately don't help. Good luck in your journey ahead!
  5. Tell us what you're eating. What kind of calorie intake?
  6. Forgot to add.. If you're having weak spells, you're not getting enough calories and probably protein and potassium as well. Go get some Isopure- those things have tons of good stuff in 'em.
  7. Shari Lou- I was banded on the 17th as well. I'm experiencing some hunger, but not a lot. I'm logging everything into Fitday.com to make sure I'm getting enough calories and protein. To me, it doesn't sound like you're getting enough. But I'm no doctor...
  8. Hubby bought a bottle of wine, and I figured a very small glass wouldn't hurt me. I'm day 9 post-op. What do you guys think?
  9. I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but liquid Imodium did wonders (and still is) for me.
  10. Amy- Go to www.tickerfactory.com Choose your ticker and enter the information It'll give you a bulletin board "code"- copy and paste that into your control panel signature page.
  11. I think the pre-op liquid diet's purpose is to shrink the size of your liver. I've also heard that a liquid diet the few days before surgery could help with post-op gas pain. Your doctor's office didn't tell you what you could have? I would think you could have protein shakes.
  12. If you think you have pretty good restriction as-is, I'd say just call and cancel the fill. Just tell them you're not ready. I think you should get a fill when you're not losing and/or have little restriction.
  13. Hello fellow bandsters (and soon-to-be's)! I was banded on November 17th by Dr. Kuri in TJ. My overall experience was pretty good. It was hectic flying all the way back to Alabama the day after my surgery though. I experienced quite a bit of gas pain and some still lingering. It never went to my shoulder like I hear so much about, and I'm thankful. I've had quite a few diarrhea problems though, so I'm depending on liquid Imodium for that. Every once in awhile I get sharp pains at the port site. I guess that's my body telling me I'm overdoing it. So I'm trying to take it easier on myself these days. My husband says I'm too independant I had the surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. It was so much easier than I thought and each day I improve. I'm 12 lbs down as of this morning and I'm struggling to get in enough calories and fluids- this is such a learning experience! Good luck to all you November bandsters! In one year we can all compare our success when all of the November 2006 bandsters start gathering

Judi- I'm in Birmingham, AL. I had my surgery last week by Dr. Kuri (see above link). I couldn't be happier with my experience there. Kathy is right though- it's not for everyone. Where are you in Alabama? I've found a few fill docs, but they're a few hours away. It's hard finding one that'll do fills on Mexican banded patients. PM or email me if you'd like more information on Dr. Kuri from a fellow Alabamian
  15. Jini- I feel tight all day long right now. To compare, it feels almost like menstrual cramps- a severe case. It doesn't ever seem to ease up actually.
  16. Jini- I had Breyer's light chocolate ice cream last night with no problem.
  17. Thanks Jachut. But I'm wondering- is that a similar guideline for post op?
  18. I'm day 5 post op and apple juice has been a life saver. It's funny- I never even thought about buying the stuff before.... it's sooooo good!
  19. and Protein? Today, according to Fitday, I've had: Total cals: 946 Protein: 44g Good? Bad? Too much/little? I know I should have these guidelines from my doc, but I have such a pile of paperwork from researching... I don't even know where to start. So if someone could please give me some guidelines, I'd appreciate it!
  20. Jini- I feel your pain on day 4! But I've noticed that when I try something thicker, I get the hiccups or feel extremely sick/full fast. I have to eat sooooo slow. My head hunger is really getting to me too. Oh well... it's a learning process. Today I had: 1 cup of coffee Isopure drink (tried cream of wheat, but it was too thick and I lost interest after 2 bites) Campbell's "Soup at hand" Cream of broccoli- I only got down half of it About 1/2 cup of pureed potato soup About 1/2 cup pureed refried beans mixed with milk And I'm stuffed- but my head hunger won't give. Good luck- let me know what you're eating and we can share ideas
  21. I'm day 3 post op, and I just can't find anything to do with myself! I've done 5 loads of laundry since I came home. I tried to watch TV, then a commercial came on about some kitchen cleaner with a lady cleaning her kitchen counters- so I decide my counters need cleaning! I can hardly sit still enough to type this out. I'm dying here... my attention span is all of 3 seconds! On top of that, I can hardly sleep. I just think about things that need to be done. What in the world is wrong with me? Did anyone else feel this way?
  22. I had my surgery Thursday, and I'm going in on Monday. For the most part, I sit at a desk all day. I think you should be careful going back so soon.
