I am scheduled to have my first fill in a few days (I will be 1 month out of surgery). However, I am still not able to get much food down, only about 1 cup to 1 1/2 cup of food a day, about 4 ounces at a time (if that!) I'm thinking that if I get a fill, I will probably be able to get only a few bites of food a day, let alone water, and this really freaks me out. Is there anyone out there who just never needed a fill or did not need one for a long time? Also, how do I let my dr. know without being to pushy or bossy about it? Any comments would be appreciated. thanx

If you think you have pretty good restriction as-is, I'd say just call and cancel the fill. Just tell them you're not ready. I think you should get a fill when you're not losing and/or have little restriction.

I won't be a month until 12/3, and I also feel full and I am losing. I think we need to listen to our bodies and take charge of our health care decisions.

You know your body, do whats best for you. Reschedule it. I noticed that as more time goes by the more I can eat so maybe you'll be ready for a fill in another month or so.

My doc won't give me a fill for at least 2 months after surgery, and I know I'm gonna need it lol.

I had my first fill at 7 weeks at my second post op check up with the doc. I was losing but was also hungry every two hours so he put 1.5 cc in my 4 cc band but he left it up to me. If I had told him that I was satisfied he wouldn't have done a fill - talk with your doctor and work out what is best for you.
