Saw my Nut and surgeon yesterday. Both are thrilled with my progress. I am 4 weeks post rny.
I was cleared for all foods. I am to have 6 meals/ Snacks per day. Never to exceed 1/2 cup of either, FOREVER! NUT told me to work up to 1000 calories per day as my body will tolerate. I'm currently about 600.
My program was very strict pre op for 6 months. Not because of ins. Requirements, but because that's how the surgeon does it. He wants the head habits changed as much as possible before the rny . So far, so good with my food tolerance. Now if I could only poop, I'd be golden!!!LOL

Hi. I'm an extremely busy self employed hair stylist. I'm 60 years old. I scheduled myself off work for 4 weeks, as I'm on my feet sometimes 12 hours a day, especially during the hair holiday rush! I'm 2 weeks out of an uncomplicated rny with a gastrectomy, gall bladder removal, hiatal hernia and umbilical hernia repairs. I'm just starting to really get antsy and bored, but I will do nothing to jeopardize my recovery. This surgery means the world to me. I still get tired easily and I also need time to get used to this pattern of Protein, Water, Vitamins, Introducing new foods, exercise.
When I go back it will be on an extremely shorter schedule for another 2 weeks. I will extend my hours as I feel I can do longer hours.
My clients are wonderful and have been with me on this journey since February. They are fully understanding of this and are so cooperative.
I don't see how people on this site are back to work in a week or even two. I feel so for them. You will need this time off to heal. This is a major surgery even though its done laproscopically. You will need this time off to wrap your mind around the changes. If you are able take the TIME!????. Good luck!!

Ugh!!! I heard the same exact thing from people. OMG you look great. You can lose the rest on your own. Look how great you've done already. UGH!! Again. I was 256 when I started this journey in May. I was 215 day of surgery on November 12. I was 218.8 when I came home. This morning 202.8. (OMG, I can smell wonderland)!
I've probably lost close to a thousand pounds in my life(I'm almost 61), always gaining it back plus more! My co morbidities WERE sleep apnea, diabetes, high bp, high cholesterol and insane triglicerides and was on meds for all. I now take 1 bp pill and that will be gone within a month or two. I LOVE it!
My only regret........not doing this years ago!!!
    Good luck on your journey!????

NewLifeFinny, this post made my day! I had Rny along with 5 other surgeries and repairs on 11/12. I too have the alien, so there must have been some invasion in those few days. It's such a strange sensation.LOL I too am waiting for that horrible little creature to pop out of one of my beautiful incisions! (My 32 yo daughter said it's like we have a new family member...Mom's Pouch) We are thinking on having a contest to see who could come up with the best name!????
I just started to be able to watch tv and actually understand what I watched for 2 days now. Should kick in for you any minute if we follow suit here also. YOU MUST WATCH SCANDAL. OMG is all I can say.
I'm suddenly cooking up a storm for myself...stuff I can't even have yet! (Hubby is on his own for a few weeks and after 42 years he's let out his gourmet cooking talent for himself that I've never seen before)hmmm. Made those chicken pizza crusts at 7 am today. Making ricotta bake and some salsa Verde white bean Chile later when I get off my tablet. Tomorrow I'm breaking out the mixer and baking Christmas Cookies. OMG. Ya know, I got clearance to start my Vitamins yesterday. Those Bariatric fusion are something else. Haha.
As for my weight stats I'll list:
    Age. 60
    Hw. 256
    Surg at 215
    Home at 219????
    This am at 211.1
    I'm happy!!
Once again, loved your post...Made my day. With your attitude you will have great success on your wl journey. I will be following your posts! and, I'm in the south Chicago suburbs... coincidence or alien?!?!?

@RuxieGirl Here are a few of my fave recipes:
    Magic Crust Quiche - Ham

    Ingredients

    2 cups 1% Lowfat Milk
    1/2 cup All-purpose flour
    5 large eggs
1/2 cup 2% Reduced Fat Pepper Jack cheese shredded
1/2 cup 2% Reduced Fat Swiss cheese shredded
1/2 cup 2% Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded
    7 oz Ham diced small
1/4 cup Cooked red bell pepper diced small
1/4 cup Cooked Vidalia or sweet onion diced small
Preheat oven to 350˚. In a blender or NutriBullet, mix eggs, milk and flour until blended, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder or whatever you’d like. In a bowl combine all cheeses, cooked meat and cooked veggies. Now add blended mixture and stir to combine. Pour into an 8”x8” or 9”x9” square glass dish. Bake for 50-55 minutes. Let stand 5-10 before serving. You can add whatever cheeses, veggies or meats suit your taste. I steer clear of chicken as it seems to dry to me. The small amount of flour firms up the sides and bottom making the “magic crust” while saving tons of calories. The Nutrition Facts are based on recipe above. FYI - the heavier meats, like ground beef, tend to fall to the bottom. Serving size is approximately 2”x2 1/2”

    pizza CRUST – (Chicken)

    Ingredients
One pound ground (raw) chicken breast ¼ cup grated Parmesan ¼ cup Reduced fat 4 cheese Italian shredded cheese – ¼ cup shredded cheese is 1 oz. by weight ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ tsp salt ¼ tsp black or cayenne pepper (I used cayenne) Tools
Mixing bowl (stand mixer - easiest combing method) Baking sheet, pizza pan or pizza stone (crispiest crust) Parchment paper Wax paper Rolling pin Pam or any vegetable non-stick cooking spray Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F. In a medium bowl combine all of the above ingredients. Place a wet paper towel on a flat surface then place your parchment paper on it. Spray it with Pam and then put your chicken mixture on top. Mixture makes 6 – 3 oz. portions, so 6 individual crusts. Lightly spray a sheet of wax paper with non-stick cooking spray (makes for easy removal). Place wax paper, sprayed side down and evenly press using a rolling pin to get it as thin as you’d like. Remove the wax paper and place parchment paper on pan bake until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes (depending on thickness). Put the crust between two paper towels and pat to absorb any grease. It is chicken after all. Then place it on a new sheet of parchment before topping it. Top baked crust with sauce, cheese and you favorite healthy toppings. Place back in oven on baking sheet or preheated pizza stone and cook until melted and bubbly 5 to 6 minutes. Remove from oven and enjoy! If you bake it on a pizza stone it will get crispier.

Prepare pudding according to package directions replacing milk with chocolate Premier Protein shake. I prefer to use my NutriBullet. If using shaker, shake for 3 minutes or until thickened slightly. Pour into ½ cup containers for pudding cups. For frozen pops, pour into Jello pudding pop or any popsicle molds. Jello molds hold 1/3 cup each. Pudding cups set in 5 minutes and freezer pops in approx. 2-3 hours. Any flavor sugar-free fat-free pudding works, so get creative and enjoy!

Preheat oven 400°. Spray pie pan with non-stick cooking spray. Beat all ingredients together until smooth and creamy. Pour into prepared pie pan. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes, then turn down to 375° and bake for 45 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. It is best served cold and can even be frozen. Serving size is 1/6 slice of pie. I used a Tbsp. of fat-free vanilla Greek yogurt as a topping (pic) but you could use Reddi-Wip fat-free whipped cream for an additional 5 calories & only 1 carb per 2 Tbsp. serving.

God forbid I tell my sister whom I'm extremely close to!! She'd definitely be the one to say all of what your family said and of course the addiction thing.
