  3. I gained 8 lbs in the hospital and I was so upset! It took about a week for it to come off! Hang in there!

  7. You will be surprised how much you lose on the liquid diet! I think I lost 10 - 15 lbs, BUT no one told me I would gain in the hospital! I gained 8 lbs in the 2 1/2 days I was in the hospital!!

  12. Hi! I also had RNY on Nov. 9! I gained 8lbs in the hospital so I was livid! I've lost about 10lbs and was very discourage too. To many people post about losing 20+ the first few weeks. My dr is very happy at where I was at the 2 weeks. He said focus on healing! As the swelling goes down and your body bounces back from the surgery, I will see more weight loss. He also said NOT to do any exercise except walking until after my 4 week post op appointment. The final thing he reminded me is that the more someone weighs, the faster it will come off at first. So if someone else started at 350 and I was at 250, then their first 2 weeks would show a bigger weight loss! Keep your head up! We can do this!

  14. Have you talked to your dr? Are you still on liquids? I'm trying to transition to puréed food and it's not going well! So I went back to protein shakes for the weekend.

    These are during the 4 month pre diet through the end of my liquid diet! Total loss of 30 lbs!

  17. Following! I just started the puréed phase!
  18. 2 weeks of liquid diet of protein shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, sugar free Popsicles, and broth! I lost 13lbs, but I gained 8lbs back in the hospital!

  26. My NUT said not to drink anything 30 min before or 30 min after eating!
  27. I'm a southern girl too! I live on coffee, ice tea, and water! I don't have a surgery date yet, but I'm done all the pre stuff! I'm interested too about caffeine!
