  2. Let me start off by saying the whole time i was in the hospital my temp never made is to 98.6 it stayed in the 97.something range. My body temp is naturally on the lower end of the scale. So today i went to the doctor for a normal visit and i was running a low grade fever of 99.4. I knew that i wasnt feeling well when I woke up today but didnt think I was running a fever. My pain medicine has tylenol in it so I would think that would help, but has anyone else had the same thing happen to them and if so what did you do.
  3. I did try to sleep propped up in the bed but it didnt help. I will also say that this surgery's pain is worse than any of the other surgeries i have had and worse than having my kids. I usually dont have to take pain meds when i get to go home. For the gas i did buy some of the GasX melt away stripes. They work instantly.
  4. I had my surgery January 19th also. I didnt get to come home until Sunday due to the pain and nausea not being under control. I tried sleeping in the bed last night and it was really uncomfortable. I would wake up every so often even after having my sleeping medicine. So needless to say at 8:00 this morning i woke up in major pain and decided i would take my pain medicine and try sleeping in the recliner. I noticed a difference between the bed and recliner as soon as i sat down. The recliner hugs you like the hospital bed does. I also put a pillow on the side i was laying on as extra cushioning. My bed didnt provide enough support of my stomach and i cant sleep on my back in the bed. In the recliner i am slightly sitting up. So until the pain goes away the recliner will be my bed.

  8. Thank you everyone. Hopefully ill be going home tomorrow. I had a choice of going home or staying another night, so i decided to stay one more night to make sure my pain is under control. Plus i needed to work on my fluid intake. I have walked so much that i could walk the loop with my eyes closed. I didnt really have gas issues until they took me off my IV meds and started them in pill form. It wasnt too difficult to make the gas go away until tonight. Ive tried a lil of everything. Maybe after i fall asleep it will exit and i wont hurt as much. Good luck to every one that is on their way to a new person, and a very speedy recovery. Thank you guys also for the great support.

I am more than ready to start this new journey in my life. i know its not going to be that easy and pain free but i got this. Congrats to all those who are having or had their surgery this month. Cant wait to join the club.
  27. i dont do well with sugar substitutes can i have honey? please help.
  28. I am having my surgery on January 19th. I have had issues with getting headaches because i ALWAYS eat Breakfast and the Protein shakes are not what my body is used to for my main meal. there is not much i can do for it just keep to my diet. they said it would get better.
  29. I started my 14 day pre-op today and boy is it harder than i thought. I have made a lot of changes since i began my journey to my surgery day and i have been following what my dr said and there's not much difference between the 2 diet plans. I have faith in myself and i know i got this but wasnt thinking it was hoing to be rough. I can have fruits and veggies and 4 oz of meat at dinner time. My biggest issue i have had today is breakfast. I always eat eggs for breakfast, if i dont eat breakfast i get a major headache and feel like crap. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what did you do. I dont want to feel this way for the next 14 days.
  30. i have 18 more days and i am getting more and more excited. i cant wait to start my new journey and its so exciting to know im not in it alone.
  31. It didnt work for me. It said page not found
  32. I received my insurance approval on the 11th of december and the surgeon's office called me this morning with my date. i meet with my surgeon January 14th and will be having my surgery on January 19th and i start my pre-op diet Jaunary 5th. I am so excited that i cant wait. This will be a whole new chapter in my life that i cant wait to begin.
  33. I woke up and was getting ready to go with my boyfriend to his appointment when i received the phone call. i am excited and proud to announce i will be having my surgery on....... January 19th. i am so ready for this.
  34. I am having the Roux en y
  35. I found out friday that i did get the approval from my insurance company. Now im just waiting on the surgeon's office to call for the date. i was so happy when she told me i was approved that i started to get very emotional. i wanted to jump up and down and tell the world but at the same time i was so excited that i started crying. this surgery is a big deal to me. some people look at me and ask why because im not that heavy but what they do not understand its not how heavy i am it is all the other issues having this amount of weight is causing and has caused for so long. my weight has caused issues with my health for far too long. so ending on a good note.... im looking to start the new year out with a bang and a whole new outlook on my health.
