Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment. I'm not sure what route I'll go with my neck.... If anything ... But I sure wish my neck looked a little better.

I have been reading with alarm several posts from people lately who have recently had surgery and don't seem to have gotten the message about how important Protein is to their healing and their weight loss.
It is as if a whole group have completely skipped any nutrition education and think that it is ok to starve themselves.
Protein is critical (a minimum of 80-100 grams, depending on your surgeon's recommendation for your specific needs)
Fluid is critical (at least 64 oz.).
You do not get bonus points for not reaching those goals. In fact, it will slow your weight loss and healing.
(Climbing down off of my soap box for now.)

I love reading others peoples success stories, they really inspire me that I can actually lose the weight and get down to my goal. I can't wait to post my own success story one day

I've just realised I have lost 100lbs! I only weigh once a month so this actually happened a couple of weeks ago! I've gone from 260lb to 160lb, although it may be a bit less than that now. The last 20years has totally revolved around my bathroom scales and I simply haven't had a life. Thankfully now I have been able to put the scales away and get out there and live life.....happy' happy, happy!
I am off to a reunion this weekend with people I haven't seen for years (some of them for 30+ years). This is something I would NEVER have had the confidence to do last year. I will probably look a lot more wrinkly than some people there (I'm 63) but I simple don't care. Having lost weight I just can't describe how good I feel! Happy days! I feel there is nothing I can't do - I am just coming to the end of the C25K and can now run for 25 minutes!
For anyone considering the sleeve I really can't think of any down sides - just DO IT!

I met a young woman by chance this weekend who overheard me telling someone I had just had Bariatric surgery. She waited till I walked by and said "I had it too, 2 years ago. It changed my life". She was stunning- athletic, healthy and so open. She said she was 22 when she had the surgery and it changed her life. She said she never would have been on vacation in Florida, as the "old her". All of the other girls with her had been with her through her journey and all pulled out pictures of her pre weight loss. In every picture she was on the side looking miserable. It was hard to place the vibrant smiling girl in front of me with those pictures. We all talked for a while and one of the other girls told me she wished her mom would have the surgery- she was worried about her health and she said it was sad... She was 27 and didn't have a single picture of her and her mom. Mom would never be in them. Overall, this generation is very savvy with research and open to discussion- I think if a 22 year old makes this decision they should be encouraged and supported in making a choice that can add years to their lives. My only regret every day is that I didn't do this years ago. I've missed so much. So now, onward!! :)

I have been looking into dermal rolling which actually said that particular area of the neck is not only extra skin but there's an actual muscle that holds our chin in there and once it goes slack it doesn't go back. It may be that surgery is necessary to correct but certainly other less invasive procedures like fractional "repair", dermal rolling etc cannot hurt. There used to be something called the "lifestyle lift"... That company went out of business but there may be something simpler than a full on facelift. Nonetheless you need a dermatologist and/or facial plastic surgeon's opinion not mine[emoji6]

If I would volunteer for any kind of plastic surgery, it would be for my "turkey waddle". I hate it!
I swear, on a windy day, my neck skin slaps my ears!!!!

I've noticed some tightening of mine as I am loosing weight. It is still not great, but better than it was. It was the worst when I had lost about 70 pounds, now at 100 a bit better. I wish I could say the same about my upper arms.

Sophie74656 I think that movie clip of them pulling their necks back is hilarious- also I swear it works. I had my husband pull mine back in a picture the other day and there was a noticeable difference- it's cheaper than a face lift. LOL

I've actually seen people get rid of this problem. Or greatly reduce it. I've seen trials after trials of the IT WORKS! Wraps that people put on their "double chin" and excess skin.. After 3 weeks, you notice a huge difference. It might be worth it to try it.. Much much much cheaper than plastics.. I don't sell it works though, so my advice to you, would be to find someone who does.

One thing you can try are acid skin peels, like TCA. That might give you some tightening. If you have never done a peel before find a professional.

I think you're looking pretty good for that kind of weight loss! I have tried a strivectin neck cream that I do like, but I am too lazy for a separate product.
I either use coconut oil, aragon oil or my night cream down my neck to my decolletage. so far, for my age and weight issues I think I'm holding up pretty good. if you're using a product you like on your face, be sure to give it a try on the neck. it won't make you "like new" but it sure couldn't hurt.

Nope. You've stretched your skin out and it will never go back to being normal again. The only solution is plastic surgery. I'm suffering the same thing by the way. My friend jokes and says that I should use chip clips on the back of my neck when I take pics. lol

Finally, I hit a big goal and have lost 100 pounds. It feels so good, but I can't decide what kind of reward I should give myself. I'm sure I will come up with something. Now to go after those last 45 pesky pounds.
Next goal is 11 more pounds and I'm officially not obese. I think that will be even bigger accomplishment.
