ONE exlanation for hair loss
I am losing hair like crazy! I am taking the Biotin and Zinc I have noticed a HUGE difference in my nails but not yet my hair. I am also choking down flax seed oil for the Omega's and I can't do the fish oil capsules (to big) plus a multivitamin. My nails look great! Still waiting on the hair

Is "stuck" immediate? or creeps up on you?
I know right away if I'm stuck. The few times I did I was so uncomfortable and yes it can be scary. I have learned to EAT slow and CHEW to a paste. I read that on here about chewing to a paste and it really has been a life saver! I don't socialize much when I am eating because I concentrate on what I am doing ( I really didn't like the stuck! lol) As gross as this may sound if I am chewing something and I can't make it a paste or I have an uneasy feeling about it I spit it out ( Discreet of course) Corn ball maybe but it works for me!! Just take your time and go slow, read this board and listen to your body! You will do GREAT!!!

I HATE those "kind-of" hiccups!
It is my understanding that hiccups are a warning sign that you have eaten to fast or not chewed well. In the past when I got hiccups really bad it was a nightmare with the slime that followed. I don't hiccup much now but if I do , I stop and wait it out. I don't try to eat anything more. I have learned to pay attention to this "warning sign" lol

Ever feel its not worth it?
More then worth it! Every day will get better and as you see the weight lose you will be so very happy! I look at it like this: Child birth was painful and it sucked but when they put my child in my arms I forgot the pain. A few months from now you will look back and realize it was all worth it :cursing: Good-luck to you!

When did you know that you could eat that or you could not????
100 % trail and error! When you find that error you don't trail it again lol but really whatever you eat just remember to chew it to a paste, and truthfully some days you may not be able to tolerate something but do just fine with it another. God-luck to you!

Pending Empty Nest
Bless your heart I soooooo understand!! I have Pre-empty nest syndrome and it's KILLING me. My son just graduated high school and my daughter is a sophomore. But they are very busy outside the home and their home time is limited ( I am so glad their still here some!) I hear there is a life out there after you raise your kids, I'm gonna hold onto that :rolleyes2: Find something like a hobby, I know easier said then done sometimes. For myself I took up writing and ya know what? I'm kinda good at it and enjoy the heck out of it! Good-Luck to you!

Why Pre-op Diet???
I agree if 7 days sounds overwhelming to you I worry about the band being right for you. I also wonder why your surgeon didn't explain the diet to you and the reason behind it. When I was told it was to shrink my liver to make things go easier and safer and if I DIDN'T shrink the liver some, the surgery could be canceled I was focused 100%. It sucked don't get me wrong but it was a "MUST DO" before surgery so I did. I had to do 14 days and a co-worker had to do 30. After everything I went through to get to the point of having a surgery date I sure as heck wasn't going to flub up 14 days before I went in!!! Good-Luck to you

My PB from H E double Hockey Stick
"I thought maybe I could perform surgery on myself and remove the band, the longer the episode lasted the more crazy my thought process became." Yes I too have had THIS thought lol. I was able to calm myself down and settle on having the "damn thing removed tomorrow". I lived through it and no did not have it removed (Thank God on both accounts lol) Thank-You for sharing  makes the rest of us feel like we are not alone when we have issues such as this!

Truth Please!!!
For me I am very happy with my decision. As for foods you cannot eat anymore I think that really is very individual. What works for some does not work for others, but I have found that over time I don't even WANT the foods I thought I would miss so bad. In many cases it's not that I can't eat these items as I no longer have the desire. What an empowering feeling not to be draw to something yummy just because it's sitting there. Good-Luck to you!

Is it normal to plateau and lose restriction?
Well I don't know about the "Belly Beasts" ( That would explain a lot) But I too have the same experience. After a fill I lose fast then it evens out.

Night time vomiting??
It sounded like reflux to me too. The gagging and choking at night is awful! Call your doctor and tell him what's up!

Hair Loss
I have read many threads on here about hair loss. I just finished a long one that started 2006 < a poll> I wanted to ask: Anyone who posted back then with hair loss issues...did they ever get better?!?  I have noticed hair loss since my surgery in January. I would say I have lost 50% of my hair easy. I am lucky to have started with very thick full hair *sigh* but oh the pony tail is getting thin. My hair is very long <mid-back> and it breaks my heart to have SO MUCH of it come out, like clumps. I have read about the supplements, and shampoo treatments etc etc but bottom line....Have those that had hair loss problems notice it coming back?!? :confused2: Thanks

How often do you weigh yourself??
I don't think it's ocd. I weigh daily and have read where some ppl weigh once in the morning and once at night. I'm not that bad but I do check every morning :smile2:

Diverticulosis and drinking
Unprocessed wheat bran. You can buy it at the health food store, it has both protein AND fiber. I sprinkle it on my food. I have a recipe for cookies using this stuff I will have to dig out! It will keep you regular I promise

I don't feel different and I am able to eat
Wildchild why only one fill since Nov? I think another fill will help a lot. The gagging and vomiting your speaking of? Are you eating very slow and chewing your food to a paste? Those two things alone should help ( I learned the hard way) If it's not a matter of chewing and eating slow I would be talking to my doctor about it when you go in for your fill. When is the last time you saw him/her? Good Luck!

I don't feel different and I am able to eat
I was the same as ya'll. It took a few fills to really see the weight start coming off. I am sure it's like that for a lot of people. If you read the post through out the board people are always talking about getting to their "sweet spot" before finally losing weight OR how they just had a fill and can still eat anything they want. Hang in there! You will notice a difference soon! Just give it time and get your fills! Good-luck to you!
