What's been your biggest post op realization about food
I still love food too, but I do feel differntly about food. I can have a bite or two of something I really love and stop there, I don't feel the need to keep eating. At Halloween I actually bought a bag of candy and had no problem eating one fun size piece a day. and only one

What's been your biggest post op realization about food
even now I still find myself looking at a small portion on my plate and thinking "no way this is enough food, is this how skinny people eat?"

What's been your biggest post op realization about food
I had my sleeve on Sept 2, 2015. Since then I've realized a lot of things about the way I used to eat. The biggest thing I've realized is just how much I over ate. When I started really looking at portion size post op it dawned on me how much smaller it is than what I used to eat. Like a box of mac n cheese is 4 servings...not 1. A serving of Cereal is half a cup, not "until the bowl is full"

How Did You Do on Thanksgiving?
That's what we usually do on Christmas day. On Christmas eve we have my husband's family over and on Christmas day we "honor my jewish heritage" and go see a movie and get chinese food LOL

Planet fitness vs YMCA
our YMCA was very expensive just for the gym. I go to Snap fitness which I love. It's 24 hours and not many people

Bad food cravings, any suggestions?
I have mac and cheese all the time. I just use my little bowl and eat my small portion. I think going cold turkey will lead to more cravings. I think that if you havve a craving for something then eat a little bit

How long were you in operating room?
I had the sleeve, my actual surgery was about an hour according to hubbs

Leaving hospital
there are apps that can help you with timers and such. For me I just kept a big bottle of water in front of me so it was always in my sight. It also helped that it was still warm out when I had my sleeve so I was always thirsty.

Researching, would love opinions
The sleeve will resolve diabetes also. I like the idea of the sleeve because they actually remove your stomach and it includes the hunger hormone so you don't get that hunger anymore.

Easy No Rice Sushi
I made myself some no rice sushi the other day and it was so good. Some super fresh salmon that I froze for a week and defrosted in the fridge. I cut it into slices and wrapped the in seaweed. I just ate it like a cigar and dipped it into soy sauce. It was so good.

My first "pureed" food
congrats on the loss. it's an interesting thing isn't it. I'm glad I can't eat much and have lost weight but sometimes it's dissapointing to be full after only a few bites. I made a slow cooker pulled pork for dinner tonight and it tasted so amazing that I was actually kind of sad that I could only eat three bites of it

When can I drive
if you're taking pain medication don't drive. In general you can drive when your doctor says you can drive

What’s Your Restaurant Secret?
Ive been out for sushi a couple times already and it was great. At first I just ordered the sashimi appetizer and that was enough. Last time I ordered the sashimi entree and was able to eat 2/3 of it and my husband finished it

What’s Your Approach to Holiday Weight Loss?
the holidays are not a big deal. My life no longer revolves around food and I don't spend much time thinking about food anymore. So I don't dread the holidays or worry about them. Anyway, for me the holidays are only two days, thanksgiving, and christmas so it's just two meals...no big deal.

What’s Your Restaurant Secret?
I usually just get a cup of soup or chili, or an appetizer. I have found that if you don't order anything at all people notice and ask questions, so I make sure to order something

I found that I didn't crave soda so much as just something carbonated. I drank lots of seltzer and flavored sparkling waters pre op and I miss those.
