Protein powders
this is kind of an interesting topic here. Every one has different brands they like, some love them some hate them. Many people find that a protien they like pre op they can't stand post op. I would recommend trying to get some individual bottles of a couple different brands and seeing what you like the best

Homemade protein frozen yogurt
I think that would be great. I've put yogurt into my ice cream maker before and it came out great. I did just a vanilla greek yogurt and some chopped up strawberries. It was great

Why sleeve and not bypass?
after talking to me at length and learning about me my surgeon suggested the sleeve for me and I trusted her judgement. I am beyond happy with my decision

3 weeks post op extreme fatigue
everyone experiences this. Your body is healing from major surgery and you are not consuming that many calories. So yes You will feel weak.

Getting calories up
try eating some more high calorie foods, nuts,cheeses.....

New job 2 weeks after surgery, what can I eat to keep up the energy...
consult with your NUT but 2 weeks out you really shouldn't be eating anything. liquids and protein shakes at 2 weeks is pretty standard for most people

Very Sedentary for Years... How do I start?
I started with tiny changes, like parking my car a little farther. At work I got up and walked around more often

Handling Holiday Food-focused Festivities
you can still talk about food and participate in conversations without over indulging in the food. Or maybe think of some other topics and try to start conversations about that instead

important milestone
I just noticed the other day that i've reached one of my goals and hit an important milestone in my post op appearance I've lost enough where now my boobs stick out more than my stomach!

Poop
I was told this is kind of normal, you're not eating much so not much is coming out I'm 4 months out and bathroom time is still and adventure

Craving chips and salsa/avocado

Full liquid ideas. Puree as well
clear broths are good, you can make your own or get canned Soups and strain the broth out. Get some crystal light in different flavors for a variety. I found that the pink lemonade was the best at actually quenching my thirst. When I was a few weeks our I would doctor up my proten shakes, put them in the blender with ice and some instant coffee (decaf) for a pretty tasty coffee drink, or with some frozen berries for more of a smoothie. durring soft foods phase avocados were my best friends

How Long Until Incisions Heal?
it can take a while, remember it's not just skin that was cut but muscle too. My big incision took a couple of weeks before I felt nothing from it

Pre Op liquid diet .. Please help
the point of the liquid diet is to shrink your liver. The bathroom issue is probably more of a case of liquid in liquid out

Size of stomach
your surgeon should have talked to you about this. In the beginning your pouch is still swollen and can hold very little. As time goes by the swelling goes down and there will naturally be a teeny bit of stretching. It's normal

Before being sleeved how slices of pizza could you eat, and after how many?
kind of embarassed to say but pre op my husband and I would have no problem eating a whole large pizza between the two of us. 4 slices I could easily do. Now I am am 4 and a half ish months post op and can eat maybe half a slice if the crust is thin

10 days post-op - very weak
completely normal, I went through the same thing. Think about it, 10 days out your body is still healing, and you are not consuming a lot of calories so of course you're going to feel weak. After a few weeks and once you can eat something more substantial you will feel better
-
Yesterday was the big day!
hope your recovery goes well.

I am being sleeved on 12/21/2015 – would it be a BAD idea to go the family Christmas get together? (They don’t know I am getting sleeved)
at 4 days post op the way I felt I would NOT go. I was not feeling terrible, but I was feeling like I just had major surgery 4 days ago. Don't forget that you are having major surgery, your body is going to be healing, you are going to be very tired.Just about everyone here can tell you, that you will be VERY weak for a while. If it was me I would say I was not feeling well and skip it
