jerkey
bacon jerky is awesome. It's more moist than beef jerky and the bits of fat can be a bit chewy, but it tastes so good I got myself a box like this, I could eat one for a meal http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B9GUZP4?keywords=jerky%20jack%20links&qid=1448830250&ref_=sr_1_4&sr=8-4

Miss my diet pepsi :(
honestly, I think soda is only bad for you if you're drinking gallons of it. A cup or two won't kill you Personally I only drink diet soda though

Fullness
I know you'r not supposed to but with things like chicken I do take a sip or two of water while I'm eating, it just helps it to slide down

What are you working on Pre-op?
preop I was trying to train myself to eat more slowly and take smaller bites and chew longer. I am over two months post op and still have problems sometimes with eating too fast

Protein Powder
Everyone uses different kinds. I suggest going on Amazon.com and looking at the prices there, they're usually pretty good.

Miss my diet pepsi :(
after a few weeks you should be able to have some. I drink a small bit of soda whenever I get the craving. If you really want the taste, take some and shake it up so the bubbles are gone and drink it that way

Jerky is one of my favorite things. I started eating it at a month out when I was approved for any food

Weight gain after approval from insurance
Check with your insurance, every company has different guidelines. Mine said that I could not gain weight pre op

Mad at myself
a few bites aren't going to affect you.

Sleeping
I'm sure its different for everyone. For me it was almost two weeks of sleeping in a recliner before I didn't feel pressure on my incisions when laying flat

What if I gain in the 6 month pre op?
it completely depends on your insurance. Every company has different requirements. You should call your insurance company and find out exactly what your pre op requirements would be

6 month diet thread
pre op I was practicing taking small bites and chewing chewing chewing chewing chewing. Two weeks pre op I was on a low calorie high protein diet and lost about 50 lbs before surgery

Why am I hungry?!?!
I think its just a reaction to not having any solid food. It's probably just head hunger. Once you're able to eat something that requires chewing you'll feel better

Surgery in one week - nerves have kicked into overdrive!
of course! you're having surgery it's normal to be nervous, and you're about to make a major life change. I was nervous too, and a complete wreck, shaking and crying the day before my surgery. just think about how much weight you're going to loose and how good you'll feel when you've lost good luck!!

Protein shakes
I would highly recommend getting a nutri bullet. It helped me get the Protein shakes down to blend them with some ice, and then later on with some frozen fruit.

Pre op diet opinions
I only had to do liquids post op but I found that what made it easier was a variety. There was a sale on premade soups so I bought several kinds and strained them out to just have the broth.

Pre op diet opinions
yes, after a week or so I couldn't stomach the thought of another Protein shake. So my parents had just given me a bullet blender and I put it to use. half a bottle of vanilla Protein Shake, a couple ice cubes and a handful of frozen strawberries, made a pretty tasty strawberry shake/smoothie. Or some vanilla protein shake with some ice cubes and a bit of instant coffee made a tasty blended coffee drink

Pre op diet opinions
what kind of diet are you on? My pre op diet was just a low calorie high Protein diet.
