The first night I thought to myself "what did I do, I'm never going to be able to enjoy anything again" . I was blessed with no nausea so that's worked out and I'm still on Clear Liquids until my two week check up on the 25th. If I think about it too hard o freak myself out with the whole "this is irreversible" but then I read the threads of how fabulous people feel.

Me too! I do like this site, it has been very informative on a lot of different levels, but the negativity will also get you down. I like to think I'm a positive person, and that's the support I like to be around. I haven't found anyone more supportive then loving Jesus and being around others that do as well!

I was also sleeved on 8/11. It seems like we are on the same track. I'm eating about 800 calories a day and I've only lost 22lbs since surgery. I've lost inches though. I eat lots of dairy.. Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese and Babybel cheese. Ground beef is a little tough but ground turkey and chicken work well. I also have a hard time getting 64 oz of Water in as I just get busy at work and don't sip so often.
I do feel better though! I know the best is yet to come.

-get through an entire soccer game without needing to sub out
-go to business functions and being satisfied with the delicate little portions served instead of dreaming of hoagies later
-getting all the way to work without bringing a beach towel to absorb sweat
-maybe a 5K, 10K, etc..., and actually run it
-going in the pool without a shirt

Sounds mirror image to me! I struggled with emotions losing 30lbs on pre-op even a few co workers trying to be supportive telling me I had done so good why have the surgery. I know myself though and Protein Shakes for the rest of my life is no quality. I went on vacation with my family to a Water park on Protein shakes. While I made it through, it was still awkward. I went to church yesterday and it just filled me up to conquer the next hurdles. I'm thankful for this blog to know that other people understand your emotions and the whole complexity of obesity and this surgery!

I wish so many people hadn't scared me into thinking I wasn't going to be able to work for six weeks, or lift anything heavier than a paper clip, or have violent physiological responses to all but the simplest foods. I feel that three weeks out, I am still tippy-toeing around life and I need to rebuild my confidence. FWIW.

    45 days since surgery
    6 weeks 3 days out
    52lbs lost
100g Protein, 70oz fluids and about 600 calories a day
1 day until I start at the gym
1 friend asked 3 times pre surgery, on liver diet week "Can't you just diet".
300 times I envisaged smashing her face into a brick wall, in slow motion (I am not usually violent!)
8 times I have cried this week for no reason at all
3 occasions hubby has sat me down and asked, "Can I help, I'll do anything"
1 suggestion that diamonds might help.
    0 diamonds.
2 weeks of being back at work (I have a feeling this is tied into the crying)
    3 dress sizes vanished.
    2 poops a week
2 bra sizes lost (No cup size though!)
2 really good friends met through this site.
Love the post @Kgl24 Best of luck in your upcoming surgery and speedy recovery

230 times I will actually decline

I wish you the best in your upcoming surgery. I am sure you will have a speedy recovery, and will be well on your way to showing off some killer boots!

Britt- I think it's personal. How long have you gone there? Do you feel supported? What are you involved in? Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to try out different congregations if you don't feel you are getting what you need. I wouldn't just switch on emotional day though. Feel it out.

I got the clearance yesterday to start eating soft foods. I can't eat much and I find myself having to sit up real straight and it hurts in my back when I get full. Weird. Still having a little nausea and diarrhea but I think I need a med adjustment

Wow, we have quite a few healthcare and other helping professionals here! I never was…I’m coming from the tech and business end of things. I like to think I’m currently in a “helping” profession now as I manage BariatricPal.

Lachlove .. Wow I have had a hard couple of days myself and this hit home. I think I actually am hungry. I went through the whole "head hunger" thing in the beginning but now I just feel like we weren't made to be without food entirely and if I never see another Protein Shake again it will be too soon. You. Are. Not. Alone.

Girl I don't think I could make it without the Protein Shakes however the vanilla shakes (milk based but I mix with water) that I was doing before surgery go right through me so. I've been doing Protein Water from GNC. I get to start having soft foods after Tuesday. Funny because the first thing I'm looking at is refried Beans lol . Hang in there. I had to start a new plan on my bible You Version App today because I really needed a distraction. It was a gloomy day! ❤️
