3 days until surgery

7 days on pre-op liquid diet

12 pounds lost since Monday

24 days off of work

490 calories a day (130 per Protein drink)

8 times I was asked "Are you sure you don't want a hamburger" at a cookout

362 times in 3 hours that I thought "Boy, I would, in fact, like a hamburger."

4, 248 times I lost my train of thought because of brain fog.

26 times husband has said "Eye on the prize."

1 time I reminded him that the prize was $500 boots. (I'm being facetious, don't hate)

17,982 times I reminded myself to take this one day at a time

What are your numbers?

I have always loved the powder Protein mixed with Water and after surgery I had three a day, Soup with added protein, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt etc etc. Once I was on pureed foods, I still had the Protein drinks every day. Now I am on 2 a day, one for Breakfast and one before bed. That’s 50g in itself. Otherwise I eat, for lunch and for dinner plus 2 Snacks, a mix of the following (weights can vary depending on what I have had or plan to have the rest of the day):

Roasted chicken breast 3oz: 24g protein

2 poached eggs: 15g protein

0% cottage cheese 100g: 10.2g protein

Tuna Steak 2.5 oz.: 21g protein

Fat free Greek yogurt 100g: 10.3g protein

Coconut protein drink: 19g protein

Salmon 3 oz.: 16g protein

Homemade Beef meatballs 100 g.: (no bread) 33g protein

Medium skinny latte: 11g protein

Mini light baby bel: 5g protein

Grilled pork chop 2oz.: 12g protein

Syntrax nectar drinks: 23g protein

King Prawns 100g: 15g protein

I still use unflavoured protein mix as well and as soon as I can a more varied diet ill ditch it.

At your stage post op I would drink Syntrax Nectar, the protein drinks and add unflavoured protein to Soups. Plus cottage cheese and farg greek yogurt. I added unflavoured protein to yogurt once and it was disgusting lol. Hope this helps and congratlations on the surgery :D

@ Shellbell619..I can totally relate! Hang in there, we CAN do this!

@ Kate...thanks for the tips on protein intake, have you tried the unjury chicken soup?

@Kgl24...you did it!! Hope you feel better soon, keep us posted on your progress...looking forward to your new numbers ????
