Hi all. I was sleeved 9/16! So happy to see everyone doing well! Congrats to everyone! I'm doing well, sticking to the plan and still learning as I go! Best thing I have ever done for myself.

Before it was cold I made iced coffee, with Trader Joe's Cold brew, ice and unflavored Protein Powder. It was the perfect Breakfast, or mid afternoon snack.< /p>

kanaud reacted to tera1982 in 3 months out, new nausea and pain
I also experienced this, especially with more solid foods. I found that the more solid the food, the smaller the portion I can handle. Also, pacing yourself(which is still something I struggle with) helps a lot. It also gives you time to recognize that "full" feeling before its too late. Good luck with everything, I know how awful it is. I vomited everything I ate for almost a week straight...

Earlier on, you have lots of other factors limiting the speed you can eat and the amount of chewing you do. You are right at the perfect stage where eating has become "easy" again and you might eat faster than you should without realizing it. Definitely try to be very conscious of eating slowly and chewing thoroughly for the next couple of days and see if it helps.
I only had foamies once, at this past Thanksgiving, and I was over a year post-op! So it can strike at any time if we aren't careful. I definitely just ate too much too fast that day and paid the price!

kanaud reacted to GibbsGirl in First trip grocery shopping post op
Went to the grocery store with my 17 year old son. The visit started out with me fitting in my favorite jeans that had long been at the bottom of the pile. He was so excited when I showed him. He's getting his usual fair and I picked up more eggs and had some ham shaved for next weeks big move to soft foods. We walked and talked about some of the recipes I wanted to try after my move to regular food and he vowed to try everything. I really thought I was doing great not really oogling food until we hit the checkouts. If the rest of the store doesn't get to you, the chips and candy sure looks even better. I kept looking towards the little nicknacks but there was this small bag of funyuns taunting me, of course it was eye level. Now rarely did I ever eat them because of the sodium but yes occasionally I would splurge. I was finally able to escape and on the way to the car, feeling rather defeated for some dumb reason, my son stops and tells me how proud he is of me. I thanked him and got in the car realizing I was tired but felt better about shunning the funyuns. He went on and on for the 10 minute drive that I needed to be more proud of myself and how I was strong enough to make these changes and keep it up. Of course in my mind I am still waiting for the can you loan me money for this or that game. lol. Anyway I was exhausted but felt like I made a few strides this afternoon, I knew he supported me but I also knew he was pretty terrified the day of surgery so to hear it again was nice. Also I pulled those favorite jeans off without unbuttoning or zipping them. Pretty nice feeling.

kanaud reacted to Cervidae in Huge milestone and hope for the New Year
Hello everyone!
I just had to share this enormous milestone with you all. I am lucky enough to be able to ring in the new year with more hope and joy than I've felt in a long time. Before my surgery mid-August, I had a hard time believing I would lose anything at all, let alone be where I am today. I've met or surpassed all my goals, and when I woke up this morning, I was happily shocked to see that I was FINALLY into the 200s. This is a place I have not been in over a decade. I can't tell you how incredibly happy and proud I am, and just how lucky I am to have this chance to take back my life. Thank you, everyone, for always being supportive and inspirational. I hope your 2016 is absolutely kickass!
The before pic is at my highest ever weight, 442, and the current is this evening at 299!

kanaud got a reaction from KristenVSG2014 in Stall, I am embracing....continuing to embrace
Inner surfer girl, I definitely should do measurements. Haven't taken them since 1 week post op, I am now 3 months post op! Thanks for the reminder. I definitely feel better and have been losing consistently. This is my first stall. Its just hard when you eat right, follow the plan and don't see the scale move! But the scale is not everything!! Learning so much as I go!

Still embracing....3 weeks later!! How is it possible that you can weigh exactly the same, I mean down to the decimal for 3 weeks in a row. I only weigh once a week and I'm trying not to fret. But if I get on the scale next week and it's exactly the same, I'm going to start to wonder! Maybe the new year will break the cycle!!

If your head isn't in the right place, there is no amount of sleeving, bypassing, banding, revising to bypass, or re sleeving that will do a damn bit of good. Period.

kanaud reacted to marcy0912 in 7.5 weeks before and during pictures
Feeling great. I was very fortunate that I sailed through surgery very quickly. Zero pain. Now, I honestly feel totally normal except I eat less. I still do 2 Protein shakes a day to make sure I am getting all that in. A typical day is shake for Breakfast. Greek yogurt for snack. lunch is chicken salad or leftovers from the night before. I like the Oscar Meyer P3 Snacks and some Protein for dinner. Still at 3 oz a meal and between 700 and 800 calories. I'm back at the gym. Still tire easily, but that gets better each day.
