Yeah!! Congrats to the new comers and way to go to all who have started the journey. Sleeved on July 21st--23 lbs down, but at a stall--hope it moves on next week! I'm okay with it tho, because I'm more excited about my break up with food:). I'm mentally ready to see food as substance to live, and not something to over indulge in. Best wishes!

The pain for me lasted a few days. I stopped pain killers once I got home bc it felt like soreness from doing crunches, and I just pushed thru it. Walking is good, just be careful with that. I hit 4 weeks on Tues coming, and suddenly this week, after NO pain, I'm feeling pain at my largest cut when I move. I've been told it's from healing, but the better I started feeling, the more I started doing. It's still major surgery and I'm beginning to think I may have started doing a little too much. But, I'm sure it depends on each person, the best to you! Hope your pain eases up soon!

teitei636 reacted to VDB in For the first time in my life, for just a moment, I did not feel fat
Strange thing happened today. I was weeding in the garden, moving around quite a bit, and just for a minute, I felt like I was not fat. It was sort of an out of body experience, I was shocked as I realized I was bending over easily as I weeded, I was not out of breath, was not making animal like grunts as I worked, and it felt pretty wonderful.
I had 170# to lose. In 14 weeks, halfway there, still formally fat, but I loved that sensation. Any of you have that experience?

So today i took the kids school shopping. We were in old navy, when they were done I decided to venture over to the ladies section to check sizes out, to see If I would fit anything. I've NEVER been able to buy from the store, only online. I tried on a top in the biggest size I saw, XXL. It was too big! I bought an XL top, and a pencil skirt to go with it. I'm still elated over this experience!!

I'm sorry to those of you who are having problems. Hope it passes sooner than later. Glad to hear all the good news.
Anyone else hit that dreaded early stall? I hit mine at 2 weeks(I'm 2 weeks 3 days out). It sucks, especially since I'm still on soft foods(not even at eggs yet). But, I've been reassured it will pass within a week or 2.

Thanks for all the info. I checked with my insurance and they said it's covered but only with authorization from medical group. I just got approved for first step. Insurance company said once approved i would pay only $300 out of pocket with max of. $600 if I had complications. Not bad at all because I was prepared to pay more. I hope I get approved from medical group

I have UHC as well. No problems. Approved on 1st attempt and I have no medical issues on paper other than a BMI > 40 for over 5 years. So my surgeon wrote so nicely that we were trying to avoid medical issues in the future. No appeals, just an easy road. My process was less than 3 months. I got sleeved on July 21, so I haven't seen a bill yet, but we had already met our deductible prior to the surgery. I'm not expecting much of a bill at this point. The best to all of you!

This was a great post as I just went through this yesterday and sharing with my husband how I had finally had my "break-up" moment with food. I'm only 2 weeks and a few days post op, but it hit when I was out with my children, and have not been able to order from any of my favorite places, but felt good about it.
It's definitely a mental game. If you get your thoughts in the right place, it helps. I told my mom yesterday that food is now what it was meant for, substance just to live, not my best friend and closest confidant.

I am due to start puréed foods this weekend. Almost three weeks out - and I've not see much movement on the scales this week. But I've noticed a change in my shape, so not loosing heart. With eating so little, I think that how regular you are makes quite a difference to the scales, as does where you are in your cycle.
