It doesn't matter if her surgeon explained this to her or not or whether or not she remembered or if you believe her or not. She asked a question and that is what this forum is for...to get help from others going through the same thing. You receive SO MUCH information while going through this journey that it is almost impossible to remember everything while dealing with your own emotions. Answer the question posed and leave out the slick remarks/responses. At least that is how it is coming across and how she took it. I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate it if someone responded that way to a question you posted. @@gabbisha Call one of those numbers your team gave you for any questions. I haven't gone through the surgery yet but what I hear and see commonly is that drinking while eating is a big no no. That video that was posted helped me understand the reasoning better. Good luck with your journey!????

My hair has finally started to shed. Nothing too horrible...yet. Just really annoying! I had a cute hair style picked out but opted to order extensions instead. I'm not upset by it, I knew it was going to happen so I'm not shocked. I've decided to look at it as my internal "fat" girl and "skinny" girl are fighting. One of them is fighting dirty and pulling hair out!! I'm betting on the skinny girl to win the fight in the end! Ha! So if you lost hair how long did it last?

My photographer friend asked me if I would model for her boudoir portfolio. I said yes because I thought it would be a good way to Celebrate myself now. Still, it's shocking this is me. I still feel fat sometimes and I admit these make me feel really good!!

I feel ya. I did my last pre-auth hurdle on July 31, but it took them 3 weeks to actually submit the pre-auth claim. I kept being told " We are submitting it today!" and then they didn't -- over and over. What finally got them moving was that I went up the food chain and talked to the insurance management folks who tell the surgery scheduling people that insurance is approved. I explained to them why I was trying to get sleeved before the end of August (doing it before school) and they lit a fire under everyone. In the meantime, I made sure I had done EVERY OTHER thing they asked or were going to ask for, so there wouldn't be any other delays.

I add granola or kashi Cereal to my greek yogurt on the days I work out, since it's my last snack before my workouts and the extra carbs help fuel me. But I just buy those separate, measure them out into little containers, and add them when I eat my yogurt. I agree that the added texture is really nice, plus it's a little more filling, since there are some solids in there.

Learned some new info about Greek yogurt. I suppose the one I eat every morning falls under the non-true Greek yogurt. But I like it and the granola adds texture which I love.

@@butterfly23 To be fair, I did mention the artificial sweetener in my first post about Dannon Light & Fit. Some people avoid artificial sweeteners and some people don't. It's a personal choice, but I did point it out, because I don't know what the OP's personal preference is.

@@JamieLogical yes you did mention artificial sweetners which I appreciated. In fact, I love your posts because you are always fair and balanced (dare I say logical?) and you acknowledge that everyone has their own preferences and yet you also have really valuable experience and advice. I did not mean to imply otherwise, I just wanted to share my own experience. Thanks for all of the posts you have made that have helped me and many others here.

A few other suggestions - 1) I add in a tablespoon of Protein Powder in to my yogurt to bump up the Protein (and thus the car to protein ratio is different); 2) eat just half the container in 1 day - again cutting down the carbs. 3) I have used Fage plain yogurt with additions as suggested above like Torani sugar free flavored syrups and/or teaspoon or so of sugar free pudding mix (the powder) and/or Jello powder and/or protein powder. This way you can make your own flavors. Having said all that my favorite is Danton Light and Fit Greek either strawberry Cheesecake or Key Lime.

Eat Fage plain nonfat Greek yogurt and add fruit. I also will put in a squirt of Monk Fruit if the fruit isn't very sweet. Keeps the carb count way down. The Kirkland brand plain Greek nonfat yogurt is excellent too. It's cheaper if you belong to costco.< /p>

@@Nikki Monroe its a great question. I feel differently than those who have already posted, which is one of the things I love about this site. I do not like artificial stuff in general, so I stay away from the Dannon and Yoplait "greek" yogurts because they are not really greek yogurt and are full of thickeners and other artificals. I choose to have a few more carbs with my yogurt and sometimes have chobani, although I prefer fage because I do not want cornstarch, I want yogurt.
All "greek" yogurts are not the same. True greek yogurt is extensively strained to get the whey out which then leads to thicker, more condensed yogurt with more Protein.... Yoplait (and others) are not true greek yogurt as they use additives and fillers to thicken the yogurt, so if you are concerned about getting true additive-free yogurt, check the label for things like guar gum and pectin, carrageenan, sodium citrate, potassium sorbate, corn starch. I know this doesn't matter to everyone, but it did to me when I learned so thought I would share. I personally eat Fage, which as no fillers, additives etc added.

My favorite Dannon Light & Fit are the Raspberry and the Key Lime. I started with their strawberry, which was okay, but once I tried the Raspberry, there was no turning back!

My gut says that's pretty high in calories and sugar. I eat Dannon Light & Fit Greek. It's the least "greek" tasting yogurt I was able to find. Like you, I've never been a fan of greek yogurt. But there's no denying the higher Protein content! Here are the stats on Dannon Light & Fit:
    Calories: 80
    Fat: 0 grams
    Carbs: 9 grams
    Sugars: 7 grams
    Protein: 12 grams
It does have some artificial sweetener in there (sucralose), so if that's something you are avoiding, then it might not be your best option.

I was told that once you are approved by your insurance company that you can not go back to being denied because you lost weight. Surgeons tend to want you to be as small as possible so that they have more room to move around in during surgery. Once you are approved, don't worry about it. Lose the weight of you can. If will only make your journey easier on you to get to your goal. I would talk to your doctors office for confirmation. Good luck!
