  1. Ohhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Antonio and Richard!!!!! Very nice!
  2. I think I made the right choice. Something had to be done and after 30 plus years of dieting hell, the band comes in quite handy. No, it doesn't "do it for me". Yes, I still have to put forth the effort. But, I have help with the band. I have a little help now, not too much because I was just banded and have yet to get my fills. Even without the fill I have lost 14 pounds so far. Gastric Bypass would be quicker but to me, it wasn't worth the risks. I am glad I did this.
  3. Rene, Thank you for that yummy pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn!!!!! Pulls me right on outta menopause ((-: Nah, kojak wasn't a real nomination. Yul Bryner may have been, back in the day!
  4. I was on here last weekend with the same feeling........I had pizza hut chicken wings, lots of them. You know what? It is not ok to over eat. We do slip once in awhile and all we can do is get back up and dust ourselves off and try again. I know when I did my binge (if you can call it that, not really a binge compared to pre-band) I scared myself and thought I would not be able to get back on track. This is where our band comes in and this support board. Just do not let yourself do it the day after or the day after that,........no matter what.
  5. I can empathize with you, it is not easy. I swear, one time when I was on a liquid fast I caved in and had a piece of lettuce............cell........by.......cell....it seemed. This too will pass, drink lots of water and keep busy. Also, take naps, even if it is just a ten min. catnap.
  6. As most of us, I have been dieting for over 35 years. For me, the bottom line is this. I can not have more that 1000 (maximum but usually 800) per day or I will not lose weight. I don;t care what all the books say, I don't care what Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, Weight watchers, or any of them say. For Me personally, this is just how it is. I actually was asked to not claim to be a weight watchers person because I kept telling them I could not eat all the points and lose. I have to have my 800 (maybe 4 days a week) and 1000 cal days AND get some form of exercise a few times a week or I dont lose. period. Therefore, the calories I have must contiain nutrients. This is why I usually have 2 shakes and let the other third of my daily needed nutrition come from the food i eat.
  7. Wow!! Thank goodness you have attentive doctors! Glad they caught it right away and that you are on your way to recovery!
  8. I did, however have a very "sexual" dream about Kojak once. Hmmmm haven't looked at bald men the same since, kinda like that too.
  9. Rodney Frickin' Grant --- he plays wind-in=his-hair (I think) in Dances with Wolves. (I'd play a wolf to dance with that hunk!!!!)
  10. See ya in bandland!
  11. It is such a short time before your fill. I had my surgery 9/26 and will get my first fill on 11/10. I don't know if I feel restriction or not becaue I think the post op diet has my stomach shrunk. I haven't tried to full on eat anything I want yet but I did slip up last weekend and had a bunch of chicken wings. Its coming (the weight loss) we are just in the beginning stages and that why we are banded. If we had willpower we'd just diet.
  12. WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Congrats, girlfriend! Way to take charge! You are one step closer and just think how much fun you are gonna have buying clothes for next summer!!!
  13. Thanks Candysmooch {-: Don't know if the men folk liked it or not, couldn't see their faces..yikes!
  14. Great post. No, I'm not a man either but am curious to see how many ya round up!
  15. I haven 't had them. What does the doctor say?
  16. :Hey! NIce to hear from someone who appreciates the beauty in "the land of enchantmant"! I am going to Ojo Caliente, halfway between Santa Fe and Taos. I go twice a year and stay 10 days each time. I like to think of it as my home away from home. I heard it was pretty cold up there at this time. I always take layered clothing cuz ya never know what the weather is going to do. I love it!!!
  17. Welcome! You are doing great on your weight loss!
  18. You two look awesome! What a handsome couple!
  19. 1, To be comfortable in a size 8 (I'm small boned, this is not skinny for me) 2. To be able to sit cross legged in a dining room chair. 3.. To not have to extend my plane seat belt 4. To easily get up to pee while on an airplane without knocking mens hats off with my boobs, 6. To (hopefully) run in to that two-timing ex of mine and see his eyes "take it all in". 7. To be more active with my son, grandaughter, and students
  20. AWESOME! I am flying out of San Diego next Tuesday night and will be staying in northern New Mexioo and a semi-high elevation! Maybe the weight loss will be kickstarted a bit!
  21. Welcome aboard, glad to have ya, and wishes for a speedy recovery!
  22. I can't feel my port by touching but it is still a little sore when I lay on my stomach.
  23. At any drugstore they have these pill crusher containers you can use. I recently bough liquid Tylenol when my daughter was sick and took it myself for the last bit of port pain after surgery (and to get off the damn vicodin).
  24. Gratitude lists really can change ones outlook on life! Excellent!
  25. Great job! What a cool idea. I know I am really new (2 wks post op) and sometimes I look in the mirror and say "I'm 14 pounds down but I sure don't see it" Taking monthly measurements would definitely reassure us that we are losing!
