Feeling like a hog

Hi Everyone

I had my surgery Sept 12th and it says on the list of paper the doc gave me to only eat a couple of ounces of food at a time.

I feel very little restriction at this point and naturally am STARVING.

So of course I am eating more.

Will this hurt the pouch or do me any harm?

I have my first fill Nov 1st, so it will hopefully make it possible to eat less.

Any advice?

your band does not work without a fill. A very few lucky people have a feeling of restriction from the get go, but they are rare indeed.

Of course you are hungry right now, it's like you weren't banded at ll

Relax, you will get your fill soon. Don't go crazy of course, but don't beat yourself up for not feeling satisified on what never satisified you before.

Hello fellow Tennessee bandster! Welcome to bandland! Vinesqueen is right, without a proper fill yet, you will not feel restriction yet. Just eat small amounts often to keep from getting hungry as bad. I would drink high-protein, lowcarb slimfast chocolate shakes and they would stick with me for a while and kept me from getting as hungry as often during the liquid part of the diet.

Hang in there, once you get your adjustments going, you will start feeling restriction, however, the hunger for me never went away but it just don't take near as much to make the hunger go away after you start getting your fills/adjustments.

Good luck to you!

My doctor said that this is the healing phase and he wants you to 2 weeks liquid; 2 weeks mushies and then 2 weeks added solid foods. You really need to let the swelling go down. This is my doctors opinion. All doctors seem to be different though.

It is such a short time before your fill. I had my surgery 9/26 and will get my first fill on 11/10. I don't know if I feel restriction or not becaue I think the post op diet has my stomach shrunk. I haven't tried to full on eat anything I want yet but I did slip up last weekend and had a bunch of chicken wings. Its coming (the weight loss) we are just in the beginning stages and that why we are banded. If we had willpower we'd just diet.
