Maria, Don't beat yourself up over this. I'm sure everyone, at one point, has either cheated on a diet or has thought of cheating. (I have.. many times). Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. I know that 5 scoops was a bit over board but I believe when you deprive yourself from having a snack once in awhile, you will over eat when you finally break down and eat what ever it is you wanted. Maybe you should add a frozen yogurt or something else you may like into your food plan, once in awhile, as a 'treat". I know once I added my "treat" to the plan, I did not cheat as much. Best of luck to you!!! I know it's hard but try to think positive and put this mishap behind you.

In the past, I have been most successful dieting when I allowed myself a "Cheat Day" when I could eat 1 bad thing - like 5 scoops of ice cream.

When I had 1 "cheat day" every week i was able to control myself better the rest of the time. I could resist that pizza today, because on Saturday, I was going to be able to have it. And, since I knew that there was going to be ANOTHER cheat day next week, I was able to control myself a little better on the cheat.

So, you had a little ice cream orgy... that's not the end of the world. Next time, maybe you can have just 1 scoop. Especially since you know that it is NOT the last time in your life that you will ever eat icecream.

((Hugs!))

This is not a diet! This is your life, there is no cheating in your life!

Do you really want to live in a world where there is no ice cream? No, you obviously don't, and neither do I, since ice cream = love. (I know, I'm twisted, thanks Daddy!)

Now, you know that 5 scoops is waaaay to many scoops, like 4 too many.

Please listen to what Renebean said, you might find that more helpful.

Some of us are paragons of virture, never need to look at ice cream, Cookies, pizza, cheetos, beer, you name it. Others of us are more... human. I strive to be a paragon of virture, but I realize that I'm human. I never beat myself up over what I have or have not eaten. I have more than enough stress in my life without needing to add to it by stressing about food.

Now, I'm late for my marketing exam, talk about stress!

I so agree with what the others have had to say! I discoverd the joy of Culvers soft serve ice cream while on my mushy stage of the diet. I had never even eaten it before then but now I crave it with a capital C!!!! I allow myself to have it once a week. I look at their flavor of the day calendar and pick which day of the week I plan on having it and I do. I have to or else I'd make myself nutty thinking about it. I find that after a few spoonfuls I am satisfied. That's the wonders of having the band. I don't depreive myself of things, I just have a few bites and I'm good to go.

Just to add that they make so many sugar-free low carb ice creams now. Some of them are pretty good and having a little now and then might ease the cravings for the REALLY good stuff. But, like it has already been said, dont beat yourself up over it.

Dont beat yourself up..the good thing about the band is ...tomorrow is a new day, you may be suprised what the scale reads, whenever I think I over did it, I see no gain and sometimes even a loss..One day at a time my friend is all we can do. Get back up on the band wagon...we all fall off of it occassionaly :D

So you had a blow- out day! I say good for you! Just make sure your good the rest of the month or 2 weeks or week. whatever your doing for yourself. I try & be good for two full weeks (which I haven't done as of late) than I give myself one day where I can splurge on anything I want. It usually only sets me back one day or two at the most. I can live with that. Live! your doing just fine;0)

Am I the only one thinking, "YEAH, FIVE SCOOPS OF ICE CREAM!?"

Sorry, but I can't support your guilt. I'm just mad that you didn't call me to invite me to be bad with you. I'm crunching my teeth together trying to stay away from goodies. It wouldn't have been hard to pursuade me!

You're fine. Just don't do it again tomorrow - wait a day... KIDDING!

OMG - you are mylong lost twin..........I TOO LOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE CULVERS!!!!!! I spooged on a brownie sundae from there last week and it was oh so yummy - I go there about twice a month - something about that smoothiness of the frozen custard - tastes so much better than any regular ice cream.........glad to know I'm not the only one who is a Culvers nuts! I've never heard of them before we had one built in town about a year ago. Their food is really good too!

culvers ice cream is frozen custard - like cold creamy pudding with an ice cream taste - it is to dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for - you'll never go back to ice cream afterwards -you can get it in a sundaes, cones, or concretes (there version of Dairy Queen Blizzards)with any flavors you like ..........its soooo yummy!

I was on here last weekend with the same feeling........I had pizza hut chicken wings, lots of them. You know what? It is not ok to over eat. We do slip once in awhile and all we can do is get back up and dust ourselves off and try again. I know when I did my binge (if you can call it that, not really a binge compared to pre-band) I scared myself and thought I would not be able to get back on track. This is where our band comes in and this support board. Just do not let yourself do it the day after or the day after that,........no matter what.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
