@@anewmein15 Have you tried the Fair Life Milk? It's amazing! Tastes good and it's supposed to be good for lactose intolerant people. It's a little pricy but it has a much longer expiration date than regular milk. Worth the $$.

@ - glad to hear that you are recovering without any issues. I was sleeved on the 8th as well. Each day gets better and better. I'm still on Clear liquids and I am able to get my liquids down without any issues. I haven't had any issues with nausea; however, right now I can't stand the smell of cooked eggs!
I'm finding that the more I walk the better I feel. Right now I only need to take pain meds at night. Hopefully tonight I can go to bed without taking them.

Try Oikos Triple Zero; zero added sugar, no artificial sweeteners & no fat. It is sweetened with stevia and has 15 grams of Protein. My favorite is Coconut Creme.

I am 4 years out and my currently weight is 129lbs. I am able to maintain my goal weight because I stick closely to eating tons of green vegetables, fruits, nuts and Beans along with a bit of occasional meat. (Geeen food offers plenty of protein) Otherwise, I look at food and gain weight.
I follow Dr. Matthew Weiner the author of, "A Pound of Cure." He is also a baratric surgeon with informative YouTube videos. (Great Book) I encourage you to read it cover to cover.
Dr. Joel Furhman is another doctor that I have followed, even before my WLS. Great website. Wonderful books. Helps me stay on track.
Joe Cross introduced me to juicing. I juice daily. Fresh green juice resets the body and helps with hunger, craving and weigh loss. "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" can be watched for free. Do a quick search on the internet.
    Drink lots of Water.

There may be something else going on medically, so I encourage you to see your doctor.

spouses react differently to weight loss of their better half
    spouse/significant other might become insecure
some people even worry their spouse (the person who lost weight) will leave them
other person gets insecure when they see their better half becoming independent et al
looks like you have a keeper
    standing by you/supportive
you've already lost so much weight and he is thrilled with your progress
    no worries probably for you
    it only gets better
my husband has been supportive from the beginning, helpful
3 years post op he is thrilled with my weight loss
i never had plastics after i lost my weight - so i do have lose skin
both hubby and i are very "actively" pleased that making love is so much easier and better

Sex lately has been very....jiggily. Especially the loose skin on my belly. I secretly decided to avoid a certain position because I just couldn't stand the jiggling. I'm sure my husband didn't even notice, as we've been married for almost 26 years and is just excited to be getting some
How's that to start it off??

I've enjoyed reading about all of you so here I go...
I'm Lucy and all to quickly approaching my 60th birthday. A proud mom of 6, Nana to 7 of the best grandchildren ever, happily married (though there have been 'moments') 25 years to one of my best friends, I'm a self-employed event planner. Working from home does have its advantages, but for those like me the biggest disadvantage has been spending most of my days sitting at my desk in front of a computer... I do miss being in an office and taking those luncheon walks with co-workers.
Like many of you, I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. My first self-imposed 'diet' was at the age of 13. I lost 15 lbs and was still considered 'pleasingly plump'. I've yo-yo dieted since and am turning to WLS to put an end to that. I'm not getting any younger and my body cannot take that stress. My last two major attempts at weight loss were under doctors' supervision. I lost 50 lbs in six months - gained 60 back in 18. Then a year ago I started again with a new primary care doctor, lost 15 lbs in six months and gained 20 back in 3.
I began researching WLS a couple of years ago and kept it on the back burner until the power of social networking slapped me hard in the face. A colleague has posted a candid picture of me at a work function and tagged me in it. I had no idea I was as big as I am!. It is no wonder it has become such a struggle to keep up with my grandchildren and everything else I enjoy doing that requires physical exertion.
This is not where I wanted to be turning 60! I want to be healthy and need to be to watch my grandchildren grow up.
After going through the informational session with my prospective surgeons (at that time) and doing a little more research, it became very clear to me that the gastric sleeve in my only option. That was in April 2015. My insurance gave approval immediately! I've completed my psych eval, just finished with the cardiologist and had a sleep study this week. I can't make this process move fast enough and am anxiously waiting for clearance from the pulmonologist. My lungs are healthy and no further action required with the sleep study. I would love to say that I will be having surgery in July, but I may be expecting too much - am I? I don't know.
I know that finding this website has been a godsend to me. Until now, I've done more reading of others posts-getting support and added strength to focus on the future from you. Thank you!!!!!
