Jay05 My surgeon told me that the liquid diet prior to your surgery helps the healing. It is less painful and heals faster. It wouldn't hurt right.
My surgery date is set for September 14 in California.

I've told pretty much everyone...
For months before it happened...
For a couple of reasons...
One reason was that there was no way I was going to deny it like a stinkin' "friend" of mine who, to this day, swears she didn't have any surgery.. Lying b***h...
Anyway...
The other reason was that, when I started getting RIDICULOUSLY better looking and much, much hotter than I already was, people were gonna know something was up anyway... I mean, chicks dig me... They're gonna notice stuff...
I'm not ashamed of having the surgery...
And if anyone I know thinks less of me for having it then **** them!!!
I love what I did and I'm proud to have done it...
Viva la Sleeva!!!

My coworker just got sleeved on Monday and she was super worried and had a case of the what ifs... She came out fine and the only compliant she had was a very dry mouth.
We can do this!!!

I wanted the date so bad. I bothered the nurse and surgeon multiple times a week. Now that I have my date and it's less than 3 weeks away I'm so nervous. I'm happy too but mostly nervous.
Sept. 14 is that magic date. Wow, I'm so ready for this!!

casper_808 reacted to jane13 in Having Doubts
@@nyjocool - There are only a few "nevers" that I truly consider a "forever never". I am still a newbie, being post 11 weeks and 1 day, but I would have to list a big forever never as diet soda, or any soda. I was a big fan of caffeine free diet coke. I didn't drink them regularly but if I did it was that or regular sprite. I chew gum (sugar-free).
I think you need to re-think about what "never" means post-op. I think in most cases, "never" a whole pint of ice cream, a big glass of fully sugar sweetened iced tea, bucket of buttered popcorn at the movies. IMHO you could have a couple of bites of the ice cream, a SF glass of tea, and a couple of handfuls of well chewed popcorn (minus the tons of butter) after you have had surgery and get past the restrictions on your diet suggested by doctor/NUT. I haven't had ice cream or popcorn because I just HAVENT wanted them. I have had tea, I just add the lemonade SF drops. I LOVE popcorn and not having it I thought would bother me. It hasn't. I am really not a big ice cream person but I used it as an example.
I did the surgery for me, and have no regrets. I am wearing clothes I haven't worn since 2007.
That's a "never" I thought that was forever (being able to wear clothes that start with a number 1)

casper_808 got a reaction from PureDarkness in Any tips?
I did Optifast as a diet last year. After the first three days it gets easier. The doctor said you can start with 6-7 packets a day every two hours then work down to 5-6 a day. But do what your doc says of course. But just remember it gets easier after the 3 day. ????

casper_808 got a reaction from Running2theSleeve in I want my Sex life back!
I feel you. Just today I felt like boo boo while having sex. Everything was bouncing up and down. I think it's very unattractive. My husband is sweet and supporting but I know he must see what I feel.
When I loose the weight I hope everything improves. Though he says he doesn't want me to loose too much weight. I'm not sure how to take that.
Hang in there.

casper_808 reacted to LisaPunkinHead in Kaiser patients - what to expect
It depends on what facility you are using. I was at South San Francisco, and I was referred just before Christmas, had orientation January 6, and surgery February 19. A friend of mine went through the program at the same time (we met at orientation) and she had her surgery 5 days after mine. I did not have to wait between appointments. I had my surgery sooner because I called to see if the psych had any cancellations (he was booking 6 weeks out). I only had to lose 12 pounds. I hit my goal weight, saw the psych, emailed my surgeon, and he scheduled me. It was a fast process but while I was going through it, it was slow!!!

Hi All,
I'm just starting the journey and I wanted to know what to expect in terms of the whole process. I was just referred, so what's next?
Thank you!
